MESSAGE
I have observe, over the years, that so many Christians take on too much for their faith to carry in times of sickness. I have seen people trusting God for the healing of Cancer when they had never prayed, successfully, for the healing of headaches or malaria. A very painful case was when a close friend refused for a cancerous breast to be removed chosen instead to trust God for her cancerous breast to heal. In situations like this as the cancer is spreading in the body fear soon sets in to neutralize whatever faith you had. She died like many others who were careless

We say fear is False Evidence Appearing Real. However, fear can so magnify your condition to the extent that faith will leave you completely. In the case of the report by the 10 spies their focus on the enemy’s capabilities took away any faith left in them. Calab and Joshua held on to God’s word through Moses, that the Lord had given them the land. They saw the capabilities of the enemy too but chose to hold on to God’s word. For those in critical condition there is wisdom in taking advantage of medication which will hold back the ravaging effect of the disease while you are applying your faith. I saw a great recovery from Cancerous skin some years back. The condition was so bad that mere seeing her all hope for her recovery will disappear. But she held on to God’s word while going through chemotherapy. She kept listening to faith boosting messages while undergoing the chemotherapy. Today she is completely whole, thanks to her faith and medical science that held back fear.

PRAYERS
Lord Jesus I thank you for your words that declared that by your stripes I am healed. As I grow in faith in the application of your words, help me to rightly apply your words in critical situations while taking advantage of modern knowledge that you have given to humanity for our health and wellbeing, in your mighty name. Amen 🙏🏿

MESSAGE
The word _Kairos_ is mentioned 86 times in the New King James Version of the Bible. It refers to an opportune time: a season in a man’s lifetime that offers you a unique advantage. If taken, the opportunity will catapult you above your peers. This becomes your due season. There is another Greek word that is sometimes used to refer to time, it is Chronos, sometimes spelt as Kronos. This refers to the normal time you spend in a day, month or year. The interesting fact is that while everyone has Chronos moments not everyone are privileged to experience a Kairos moment!

Your Chronos moment will determine, to a large extent, your Kairos moment. The preparation and daily tasks you engage in will largely determine your Kairos moment. For example, Apostle Paul prepared for his Apostolic calling while he was a Pharisee and not when he was called after having an encounter with the Lord on his way to Damascus. King David prepared for his destiny defining encounter with Goliath, while he was a shepherd boy tending his father’s flock. When his Kairos moment came he drew from his Chronos experiences while with his flock. When your day of visitation comes do you have enough Chronos moments to draw from? Your preparation will determine how far you will go in life. Selah

PRAYERS
Lord Jesus, thank you for your word this morning. I pray that you will grant me grace on a daily basis to build on my Chronos moments. May I not waste my time as I prepare, in anticipation, for my Kairos moment, in your matchless name. Amen.

*MESSAGE*
*I love using this personal story to illustrate the power in praying. I was in class four, going five, which was the terminal year in secondary schools before the introduction of 6-3-3-4 school year. It was during the third term promotion examination.*

*My name was called out among those who had defaulted in the payment of boarding fees of N70.00. The principal of our school had threatened that any student who didn’t pay up would not be allowed to write the promotion examination. My uncle had actually given me the money before resumption of the term, but I had used part of the fee it to sponsor a drama production in my school. It was poorly attended and we barely made N40 from gate taking.*

*With only 40 naira left on me where was I going to get the balance of 30 naira to meet up my boarding fees and be allowed to sit for my last promotion examination?*

_*When you make life unfair for yourself one window that is open to you is to turn to God in prayers. Following the words of Christ in Luke 18:1, I turned to God in prayers for Him to soften the heart of the Principal to shift his hard stance on the matter. God, in His infinite mercy, heard my prayers as we were eventually allowed to write the promotion examination.*_

_Just as the unjust judge allowed the woman to get her right, you too, can petition God over any matter and be sure to get justice from Him. His compassion fails not and His mercy never comes to an end. Don’t be tired in praying until your change comes*_

“Now it came to pass on the third day, which was Pharaoh’s birthday, that he made a feast for all his servants; and he lifted up the head of the chief butler and of the chief baker among his servants. Then he restored the chief butler to his butlership again, and he placed the cup in Pharaoh’s hand. But he hanged the chief baker, as Joseph had interpreted to them. Yet the chief butler did not remember Joseph, but forgot him.”*

MESSAGE
*Pharaoh, King of Egypt, on his birthday, when he was full of drink and in merriment, right before his officials, released from prison the Chief Butler and the Chief Baker. At the announcement of their release I am sure they were both happy to be out after their incarceration. But fate, for the baker, took another turn when an announcement came that he should be hanged, just as Joseph foretold earlier on. May your day of joy not turn to a day of weeping, in Jesus mighty name. Amen.*

Joseph, meanwhile, was full of expectations that the Chief Butler would speak to the King on his behalf to enable him return to his father. The position of a butler was that of great responsibility as it goes with the privilege of standing before the King several times daily. Joseph, full of hope, had his hope dashed when days turned to weeks, and then several moons passed without any word from the palace. Nothing can be more agonizing than waiting In vain. But God asked a question in Isaiah 49:15 ….“Can a woman forget the baby she nurses? Can she feel no kindness for the child to which she gave birth? Even if she could forget her children, I will not forget you. (https://bible.com/bible/105/isa.49.15.NCV). The truth is, God can never forget or abandon you. He will not promise you and then not bring it to pass. It is only a matter of His timing. In His time, that dream shall come to pass. That baby will come; that marriage will take place. That appointment will come, just as Joseph was lifted out of the pit to the throne. Your expectations, will, eventually, come to pass.

MESSAGE
Today we shall be concluding our study on theme ‘Authority in the name, Jesus, by looking at how the name restored the dominion mandate given to Adam and Eve, which was lost to Satan due to Sin.

In Genesis 1:28, God gave Adam the dominion mandate over the fish in the sea, over the birds in the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.’ But both Adam and Eve traded the dominion given them for the lie of Satan. The covering of God over them was removed. “So He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life.” (https://bible.com/bible/114/gen.3.24.NKJV). Man gave the dominion of the world to Satan. When Jesus encountered Satan, as reported by the account of Luke, Satan told Him “..All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish.” (https://bible.com/bible/114/luk.4.6.NKJV). Jesus, however rejected Satan’s bait, and eventually triumphed over him. As a reward, the Father gave Him back the authority that Satan took from Adam. This is recorded in Matthew’s gospel. In Ephesians 2:6, we are told that we have been raised up together, and also been made to sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus. Now, man in Christ Jesus can exercise dominion again. In Christ we have the legal right to rule the created world again. He has given us the authority to so do. As you exercise that authority you will live in dominion. The authority we have in Christ is the dominion we have in the world. Go dominate your world once again in Christ. He alone has the legal right to dominion, and he gives it to all who come to Him

PRAYERS
Heavenly Father, I pray that you give to me the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Christ. Let the eyes of my understanding be enlightened; that i may know what is the hope of your call upon my life, and what are the riches of the glory of your inheritance in the saints. Reveal to me, Lord, what is the exceeding greatness of your power toward me, according to the working of your mighty power. In Jesus mighty name. Amen 🙏

“And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered the temple; who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms. And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, “Look at us.” So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them. Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, _but what I do have I give you_: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.”

MESSAGE
Yesterday, we stopped at analyzing the story of the seven sons of Sceva who were beaten blue black because they used the name of Jesus without authorization. In our main text today we see Apostle Peter use the name of Jesus with authority. He said _what I have_ I give unto you. So the question is what do you have? We really can’t give what we don’t have.

In the Book of Acts, 1:8, before His ascension into heaven, Jesus told His disciples that “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (https://bible.com/bible/114/act.1.8.NKJV). The Holy Spirit is the game changer in the life of any believer. It empowers believers to use the name of Jesus with signs and wonders following as we saw demonstrated by Apostle Peter in the healing of the lame man.

The name of Jesus represents victory anywhere it is spoken with authorization. In Colossians 2:15, we are told that Jesus disarmed principalities and made a show of them. You can still disarm principalities anywhere you find yourself as you speak and command your situation to bow in the name of Jesus. Speak your victory daily, commanding your day and circumstances to bow. The name releases His presence anytime it is mentioned with authorization. (See Mark 16:17,18)

As a child of God do not beg God to do what He has authorized you to do. He himself said “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” (https://bible.com/bible/114/luk.10.19.NKJV). Go use what has been freely given to you. Authority unused is authority denied

MESSAGE TITTLE: THE AUTHORITY IN THE NAME, JESUS (2)

*”Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists took it upon themselves to call the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, “We exorcise you by the Jesus whom Paul preaches.” Also there were seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, who did so. And the evil spirit answered and said, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?”*

MESSAGE
*For a man to act as a traffic police officer who controls traffic on the highway, he must first join the police force to have authority to use the authorization to enforce traffic on motorists.*

_*In the Gospel of Luke, Jesus told His disciples “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” (https://bible.com/bible/114/luk.10.19.NKJV). Jesus did not just carry authority but he gave His disciples, who represents Him here on earth, that same authority. In Gospel of John, at chapter 14:13 and 14, Jesus had said “And whatever you ask [The Father] in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.”. Note that he says “whatever you ask the Father in my name*. That’s authorization. The name Jesus carries authority and the exercise of that authority has been given only to His true disciples.*_

_The seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish Chief Priest, who were not disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, tried using the authority in the name of Jesus to exorcise evil spirits from those who were demon possessed. But the demons knew that they didn’t have authorization to use the name of Jesus. The demons got angry and turned against them, and they fled. (See verse 16 of Acts 19). The demons, through the man they possess, hurt them badly because they didn’t belong to Jesus. You must first be joined to the Lord - becoming His disciples - to successfully use the authority in the name of Jesus to subdue the forces of darkness. The name of Jesus Christ, is not an abracadabra. Even demons recognize authorization_
