Main Text: Mark 11:22
“Have faith in God.”

INTRODUCTION
Faith must be backed with action.
📖 James 2:26
“For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”
Faith that does not produce action is dead faith.
What makes faith living is works.
David did not just have faith; he acted on his faith.

HOW DAVID OPERATED IN FAITH

David's Faith Was Built on the Word of God and Faithfulness.
📖 1 Samuel 17:37
David remembered what God had done for him before.
God delivered him from the lion and the bear, and David trusted that the same God would deliver him from Goliath.
The God who did it before will do it again.
David's faith was not based on empty confidence. It was built on his relationship with God and what he knew God could do.

David Declared Victory Before Facing Goliath
📖 1 Samuel 17:46
David spoke in faith before the battle.
He did not wait until Goliath was defeated before declaring victory.
✅ Words spoken in faith confront the enemy.
David saw the victory before stepping into the battle.

David Acted on His Faith
📖 1 Samuel 17:48
David moved towards Goliath.
He did not stand at a distance discussing the size of the giant.
➡️ Move towards your giant.
➡️ Face your battle with boldness.
Faith requires movement.
You can believe God, but you must also be willing to take the step.

Faith Sees Opportunity While Others See Impossibilities
While others saw Goliath as an impossible problem, David saw an opportunity to demonstrate the power of God.
Faith changes your perspective.
What looks impossible to others becomes an opportunity for God to reveal His power.

LESSONS FROM DAVID'S FAITH
🔹 Faith is built through fellowship with God. (Personal Revelation of God)
🔹 Faith speaks God's promises.
🔹 Faith acts.
🔹 Faith brings glory to God. (The end result is not self but to the Glory of God)
David's victory was not about David's strength; it was a testimony of what God can do through a person who trusts Him.

KEY THOUGHT
God is waiting for you to move. Don’t wait for God to move before you move.
Faith is not passive.
Believe God's Word.
Speak God's Word.
Act on God's Word.

FINAL REMINDER
🔥 Don't just have faith—put your faith to work.
The faith that moves first is the faith that moves mountains.

Main Scripture

Mark 11:22–24
Jesus, answering, said to them, “Have faith in God.”

INTRODUCTION

Faith is built upon the Word of God.

Faith is our response to the mind and the Word of God.

Faith does not deny reality. It acknowledges what is happening but chooses to believe what God has said concerning that situation.

Faith is not pretending that you are not sick, broke, or facing a difficult situation. Faith believes that by God's Word, the situation can change.

2 Corinthians 5:7

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.”

When circumstances around you start dictating how you live, then you are beginning to live by sight instead of by faith.

Romans 1:17

“The just shall live by faith.”

PRINCIPLES OF WALKING IN FAITH

1. Everyone has a measure of faith

Romans 12:3

Everyone is given a measure of faith.

You must understand that God has made everything available for us and they can be accessed by faith.
Hebrews 11:11
Through faith, Sarah received strength to conceive.

Genesis 18:9-15
Abraham had faith in the promise of God before Sarah also received what God had promised.

According to the time of life, God will make it happen.

Sarah herself received strength to conceive through faith.

Faith has life as you walk in the Word of God.

2. Never substitute your faith in God for another person's faith

You cannot live on another person's faith.

Putting your faith in God, care of another person can bring delay.

Faith must be personal.

You must believe God for yourself and stand on His Word.

Faith is the substance of things hoped for

Hebrews 11:1

“Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

3. Faith is in the now, not in the future.

You must understand that faith gives substance to what you are believing God for.

Faith allows you to hold on to God's Word even when what you are believing for is not yet visible.

WHAT FAITH MEANS

Faith is spiritual certainty

Faith comes from conviction.

Faith is our response to God's Word.

Faith enables believers to exercise authority over time, space and matter.

Faith believes in the possibility of what appears impossible.

By faith, we move beyond natural limitations.

FAITH DOES NOT DENY REALITY

Faith does not mean ignoring what is happening around you.

It means refusing to allow what you see to become greater than what God has said.

You may see the situation, but your faith says:

“This is not the end of the story.”

KEY THOUGHT

When circumstances around you start dictating how you live, then you are walking by sight.

But the Word says:

“The just shall live by faith.”
Romans 1:17

Faith is trusting God even when your circumstances are saying something different.

CONCLUSION

Have faith in God.

Do not replace your faith with another person's faith.

Do not allow circumstances to dictate your expectations.

Stand on the Word of God.

Believe what God has spoken.

Walk by faith and not by sight.

Your faith in God is what makes things happen for you.

"So Jesus answered and said to them, 'Have faith in God.'"

Introduction

Faith begins with God. Jesus' instruction was simple yet profound: "Have faith in God." Our confidence should never be in ourselves, our abilities, or our circumstances, but in the unchanging nature of God.

With God, all things are possible.

Everything in this world can fail, but God never fails.

Proverbs 3:5

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding."

What Does Having Faith in God Mean?

Placing your absolute trust in God's ability and character.

In Scripture, mountains represent challenges or situations that seem impossible to man, such as:

Poverty

Barrenness

Sickness

Every seemingly impossible situation

Faith does not surrender or negotiate with problems. Faith commands.

Believe that God can use you to break every negative cycle and bring change to your family.

Faith rests completely on the promises of God.

What Faith Is Not

Faith is not:

Positive thinking that is not rooted in God's Word.

Mere optimism or wishful thinking.

Human confidence or self-confidence.

Presumption.

What Is Faith?

Hebrews 11:1

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

Faith is:

A firm conviction.

Spiritual certainty.

Our response to God's Word.

What enables believers to exercise authority over circumstances.

The confidence to believe God for what seems impossible.

The lifestyle that lifts us above natural limitations.

Living by Faith

Habakkuk 2:4

"...But the just shall live by his faith."

As believers, faith is not something we use occasionally. It is the way we are called to live every day.

By This Faith...

Your faith is what makes things happen in your life.

If Satan could not overcome Jesus, then he cannot overcome me.

As Christ is in heaven, so are we on the earth.

Topic: Hindrances to Prayer

Text: Isaiah 59:1

"Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither His ear heavy, that it cannot hear."

Prayer is one of the greatest privileges of every believer. However, there are things that can hinder our prayers and prevent us from experiencing God's answers. As Christians, we must identify these hindrances and remove them so that our fellowship with God remains unhindered.

Hindrances to Prayer

1. Sin

Scripture: Isaiah 59:1-2

Sin separates us from God and creates a barrier between us and Him. A lifestyle of unrepentant sin hinders our prayers because it affects our relationship with God.

2. Lack of Faith (Unbelief)

Scripture: Matthew 17:18-20

Faith is essential in receiving answers to prayer. Unbelief and doubt can hinder God from working in our lives because without faith it is impossible to trust Him fully.

3. Unforgiveness

Scripture: Matthew 18:21-22

A heart that refuses to forgive others blocks effective prayer. God expects us to extend forgiveness just as He has forgiven us.

4. Unbelief

Scripture: Hebrews 11:6

"Without faith it is impossible to please God."

Faith pleases God and positions us to receive from Him. We must approach Him with confidence, believing that He hears and answers our prayers.

5. A Double-Minded Heart

Scripture: James 1:5-8

A double-minded person is unstable in all their ways. We must trust God wholeheartedly and remain steadfast in faith instead of wavering.

6. Lack of Love and Unity

Scripture: 1 Peter 3:8

God desires His children to live in love, harmony and unity. Bitterness, division and strife can become obstacles to effective prayer.

7. Carnal Living

Scripture: 1 John 2:15-16

Living according to the desires of the flesh rather than the will of God weakens our spiritual life and hinders our communion with Him.

8. Disobedience

Scripture: 1 Samuel 15:26

Disobedience grieves God. Obedience is better than sacrifice, and a willing, obedient heart attracts God's favour and blessings.

How to Overcome Prayer Hindrances

1. Confess and Repent of Every Sin

Scripture: Psalm 32:5

Be honest before God. Confession and genuine repentance restore fellowship with Him.

2. Cultivate a Consistent Relationship with God

Scripture: Psalm 16:11

Spend time daily in God's presence through prayer, Bible study and worship. A healthy relationship with God strengthens your prayer life.

3. Renew Your Mind

Scripture: Philippians 4:8

Fill your mind with God's Word and focus on things that are true, pure, lovely and of good report. A renewed mind produces a stronger faith.

4. Focus on God's Kingdom Purpose

Scripture: Jeremiah 29:11

Seek God's will above your own desires. When your life aligns with His purpose, your prayers become more effective and fruitful.

God is always willing to hear and answer the prayers of His children. As believers, we must remove every hindrance by living in obedience, walking in faith, forgiving others, maintaining love and unity, and cultivating a close relationship with Him.

"The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous person avails much."
James 5:16
