PREPARE BEFORE THE OPPORTUNITY COMES
What if the opportunity you are praying for came today—would you be ready for it?
Many people are praying for opportunities they are not prepared to handle.
They pray for promotion but have not developed the leadership capacity required for the next level.
They pray for financial increase but have not developed financial discipline.
They pray for influence but have not developed the character to carry influence responsibly.
They pray for a bigger platform but have not developed the competence required to perform on that platform.
Opportunity may change your position, but preparation determines whether you can sustain the change.
Look at David.
When Goliath appeared, David did not suddenly become courageous. His private preparation had already built his confidence. The battles he fought while tending his father's sheep prepared him for the public battle everyone could see.
Look at Joseph.
Joseph did not become a leader the day Pharaoh called him. God had been preparing him through years of betrayal, hardship, service, administration, and testing. His prison season was part of his preparation for the palace.
Your hidden season may be preparing you for your visible season.
Do not despise the season where nobody is applauding you.
Read when nobody is watching.
Learn when nobody is celebrating you.
Pray when nobody knows.
Practice when nobody is clapping.
Develop your skills.
Build your character.
Strengthen your discipline.
Increase your capacity.
The opportunity may come suddenly, but the capacity to handle it must be developed gradually.
Proverbs 22:29 says:
“Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings...”
Don't spend all your time asking God for the door.
Prepare for what is behind the door.
Don't only pray, “Lord, give me the opportunity.”
Also pray, “Lord, make me ready for the opportunity.”

TODAY'S PRACTICAL CHALLENGE
Ask yourself these three questions:
* What opportunity am I currently praying for?
* What capacity will that opportunity require from me?
* What can I begin developing today so I will be ready when the opportunity comes?
Don't wait for the opportunity before you start preparing.
Prepare in private for what you are praying to receive in public.
Your next level may not need another prayer as much as it needs another level of preparation.

30 years ago, we said “I do.” Today, we look back with grateful hearts and say, “God has been faithful!”
Three decades of love, friendship, growth, family, ministry, laughter, challenges, victories, and countless beautiful memories.
I thank God for giving me a wife who has been more than a spouse—a faithful companion, prayer partner, encourager, confidant, and partner in life and ministry. Together, we have built, served, endured, celebrated, and grown.
Through every season, God has kept us together and given us reasons to be grateful.
