The 8th Season Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Ogun State Chapter; State Chairman, CPFN|PFN Ogun State; and Zonal General Secretary, PFN South-West Nigeria, Apostle Dr. David Ahmed Bello Otaru, often says to me: "TALENTED, I TRUST YOUR JUDGMENT."

Those words represent far more than a compliment; they are a profound expression of confidence, trust, mentorship, and leadership affirmation. To receive such words from a leader and father is both an honour and a responsibility.

True leadership is not merely about giving instructions; it is about recognising potential, building capacity, empowering others to make sound decisions, and creating an atmosphere where emerging leaders can thrive.

So he fed them according to the integrity of his heart; and guided them by the skilfulness of his hands (Psalms 78:72).

Sir, your investment in people, your confidence in those you lead, and your willingness to entrust responsibilities to others exemplify the essence of godly leadership. Your words have encouraged me to think deeply, act wisely, and carry every responsibility with a greater sense of accountability.

Thank you, Apostle Otaru, for your trust, confidence, mentorship, and fatherly encouragement. Your words remain a significant source of motivation and a constant reminder that leadership must be exercised with wisdom, integrity, humility, courage, and excellence.

Indeed, you are a gift from God to the Body of Christ and to this generation. Your impact extends beyond the positions you occupy; it is reflected in the lives you influence, the leaders you raise, and the confidence you inspire in others.

Sir, having you as my direct principal has been a privilege I deeply value. A moment without you in that capacity makes me realise even more how much your presence, counsel, and leadership mean to me. I sincerely miss you, Sir.

May the Lord continually strengthen you, preserve you, enlarge your influence, and reward your labour in His vineyard.

The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him -Proverbs 20:7.

PASTOR ENGR. ADEKUNLE JOSEPH ABDUL

9th Season Chairman, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Ogun State Chapter

Pastor Adekunle Joseph Abdul was born on 15 March 1965 into the distinguished family of Mr. Lamina and Mrs. Animotu Abdul of the Fusengbuwa Ruling House.

His father, Mr. Lamina Abdul, was one of the two brothers who founded Bojela Brothers Bakery, a renowned confectionery enterprise that made significant contributions to the South-Western Nigerian confectionery industry from the 1950s through the late 1980s.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

Pastor Abdul began his formal education at Adeola Odutola Elementary School in 1971 and completed his primary education in 1975. In the same year, he proceeded to Ijebu-Ode Grammar School, where he completed his secondary education.

Between 1983 and 1984, he worked with West Africa Drug Company, an arm of the John Holt Group, before gaining admission to the University of Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, in December 1984. He subsequently obtained a degree in Chemical Engineering.

CALL TO MINISTRY

Pastor Abdul encountered Christ and became born again on 21 June 1986. He immediately committed himself to the service of God and became actively involved in the campus fellowship at Obafemi Awolowo University.

While in Ibadan from 1987, he attended Scripture Pasture Christian Centre, co-founded and pastored by Pastor Olubi Johnson and Pastor Lanre Adenekan. The ministry's strong emphasis on sound biblical teaching played a significant role in shaping his spiritual and ministerial foundation.

During his visits to Sagamu between 1989 and 1994, he also worshipped at Victory Chapel, Sagamu, founded by Pastor Lanre Adenekan.

Following his National Youth Service, Pastor Abdul declined opportunities to practise as an engineer, choosing instead to pursue what he believed to be God's call to pastoral ministry.

In June 1991, he joined Pastor Kunle Adesiji, Founder of God Love Bible Church, Abeokuta, as one of his assistants.

In 1993, Pastor Abdul returned to Ibadan. In 1994, his uncle, Mr. Barry Abdul, who served as a trusted mentor, encouraged him to return to Ijebu-Ode for practical ministerial training under Bishop Tayo Odunuga. He subsequently joined Christ Love Evangelical Ministries (CLEM), Ijebu-Ode, in August 1994.

In November 1994, by divine providence, he began serving as a Gospel Officer at CLEM, alongside Sister Onyi, who served as the Bishop's Secretary. Their relationship developed into marriage on 19 July 1997.

Pastor Abdul was ordained into the ministry by Bishop Tayo Odunuga in May 1995 and subsequently posted to Ago-Iwoye as an Assistant Pastor. In June 1996, he was sent to Ijebu-Igbo to establish a new assembly.

In May 1999, he resigned from CLEM to undertake further ministerial training in preparation for the establishment of Love Epistle Believers Assembly. The church was officially commissioned on the last Sunday of December 1999.

In November 2000, Pastor Abdul joined the International Fellowship of Charismatic Ministers, founded by Bishop Taiwo Adelakun, under whose apostolic leadership he has submitted his ministry since then.

SERVICE IN THE PENTECOSTAL FELLOWSHIP OF NIGERIA

Pastor Abdul joined the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) in Ijebu-Igbo in November 1996 while serving with Christ Love Evangelical Ministries. In 2000, he commenced a broader journey of service within PFN and has served diligently at the Area, Chapter, Province and State levels.

Throughout his PFN journey, he has served under several respected leaders, including Rev. Paul Agbaje, Evangelist Ayelangbe, Bishop Bunmi Banwo and, more recently, Apostle Dr. David Ahmed Bello Otaru.

PENTECOSTAL FELLOWSHIP OF NIGERIA, OGUN STATE CHAPTER HANDING OVER | INAUGURATION OF THE 9TH SEASON ADMINISTRATION

10/08/2026

FROM DIVINE APPOINTMENT TO CONTINUITY OF VISION: THE JOURNEY OF OGUN STATE PFN AND THE DAWN OF A NEW ERA.

By Felix Oluwaseun Agbesanwa.

PRO, Ogun State PFN.

The journey of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Ogun State Chapter, is a testimony to the faithfulness of God, the power of divine leadership and the importance of continuity in advancing the work of the Kingdom.

From the pioneering leadership of Pastor Israel Olufela Abatan, the first State Chairman, through the successive administrations, to the present leadership of Apostle David Ahmed Bello Otaru, and now the emergence of Reverend Engineer Dr. Kunle Abdul as the incoming State Chairman, the story of Ogun State PFN has remained one of divine orchestration.

A LEGACY BUILT ON DIVINE DIRECTION

It is important to put on record that, from the inception of PFN in Ogun State, the leadership transition has not been driven by conventional electoral contests. Rather, officers have assumed responsibilities through what the Fellowship has consistently understood as divine appointment, inspiration and discernment under the leading of the Holy Spirit through the leadership in charge.

This unique pattern has contributed significantly to the unity, stability and spiritual character of the Fellowship.

It is therefore important that every member understands that leadership in PFN is not merely about occupying an office. It is fundamentally about service, sacrifice, spiritual responsibility and the advancement of God's Kingdom.

The transition from one administration to another should consequently not be viewed as a competition between individuals, but as a continuation of the assignment that God has entrusted to the Fellowship.

THE APOSTLE DAVID AHMED BELLO OTARU ADMINISTRATION: A PERIOD OF VISION AND CONSOLIDATION

As the administration of Apostle David Ahmed Bello Otaru prepares to hand over to a new leadership, it is only appropriate to acknowledge and appreciate the significant contributions made during his tenure.

His administration operated through a period that presented extraordinary challenges, including the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Yet, despite the difficulties of that period, the leadership remained committed to pursuing the vision and strengthening the institutional foundation of Ogun State PFN.

One of the notable achievements of the outgoing administration is the effort towards securing a permanent Secretariat for the Fellowship. This represents far more than the acquisition of physical space; it is an investment in the future of PFN in Ogun State.

The administration also gave attention to the discovery, recognition and development of talents and capable officers within the Fellowship. This is particularly important because every successful organisation must deliberately identify and nurture people who can carry its vision into the future.

Another commendable achievement is the development of a good auditorium at the Legacy Secretariat, providing a physical platform for fellowship, meetings, programmes and other activities of the body.

These achievements deserve recognition because they demonstrate the importance of thinking beyond one's tenure and building structures that future administrations can inherit and improve upon.

A LEADERSHIP TRANSITION, NOT A BREAK IN VISION

As Reverend Engineer Dr. Kunle Abdul prepares to assume the responsibility of State Chairman, the expectation should not be that he is coming to begin an entirely new story.

He is coming into an established heritage.

The assignment before the incoming administration is therefore to protect what has been built, strengthen what needs improvement, expand the vision and open new frontiers for Pentecostal unity and impact in Ogun State.

Leadership changes, but the mission remains.

Personalities may change, but the vision of strengthening the Pentecostal family, promoting unity and advancing the Kingdom of God must continue.

A CALL TO ALL PENTECOSTALS IN OGUN STATE

At this historic moment, every Pentecostal in Ogun State is encouraged to make it a priority to be present early tomorrow, Tuesday, 11th August 2026, by 9:00 a.m., to witness this important transition.

This is not simply another programme.

It is a moment in the history of Ogun State PFN.

It is a moment to honour the past, celebrate the present and embrace the future.

It is a moment where responsibility will change hands, while the divine assignment continues.

Let us therefore come with hearts prepared for worship, thanksgiving, unity and expectation as we witness the emergence of the new leadership.

APPRECIATION TO APOSTLE DAVID AHMED BELLO OTARU

On behalf of the leadership and members of Ogun State PFN, we sincerely appreciate Apostle David Ahmed Bello Otaru for his service, sacrifices and commitment to the Fellowship.

Sir, your administration demonstrated the importance of having a vision that looks beyond the immediate.

Even during challenging seasons, including the COVID-19 period, you continued to trust God for direction. We particularly appreciate your efforts towards securing a befitting permanent land for the Fellowship and laying foundations upon which subsequent administrations can build.

Leadership is not measured only by what is accomplished during one's tenure, but also by what one leaves behind for others to build upon.

May God Almighty continue to honour, strengthen and replenish you and your family.

A PRAYER FOR THE INCOMING EXECUTIVES

As the new executives come on board, our prayer is that Almighty God will grant them wisdom, humility, unity, courage and spiritual discernment.

May God grant the incoming State Chairman, Reverend Engineer Dr. Kunle Abdul, the grace to lead with the fear of God and surround himself with people who genuinely understand the vision of PFN.

May the new executives work together as one team, supporting the team leader and carrying the vision forward with sincerity and dedication.

May there be no room for unnecessary rivalry, division or personal ambition.

May every officer remember that the office is temporary, but the Kingdom assignment is eternal.

May God give the new administration the grace to build upon the achievements of previous administrations, correct what needs correction, strengthen what needs strengthening and achieve even greater things for the glory of God.

THE JOURNEY CONTINUES

From Pastor Israel Olufela Abatan, the pioneering State Chairman, to the present administration of Apostle David Ahmed Bello Otaru, and now to the incoming administration of Reverend Engineer Dr. Kunle Abdul, the story of Ogun State PFN continues to unfold.

We honour those who laid the foundation.

We appreciate those who strengthened the structure.

And we pray for those who are receiving the responsibility to take the Fellowship to the next level.

Today,, we shall witness not merely a change of leadership, but another chapter in the unfolding story of God's faithfulness to the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Ogun State.

May the unity of the Pentecostal family remain strong.

May the vision remain clear.

May the leadership remain divinely guided.

And may Ogun State PFN continue to grow from strength to strength, for the advancement of God's Kingdom and the glory of His name.

“Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it.” Psalm 127:1

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO A DISTINGUISHED KINGDOM GENERAL

On behalf of our visionary State Chairman, His Lordship, Apostle Dr. David Ahmed Bello Otaru, the State Executive Council (SEC), the State Advisory Council (SAC), and the entire Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Ogun State Chapter, I joyfully extend our warmest congratulations and heartfelt felicitations to our highly esteemed Reverend, Olubunmi Ajileye, member, Senior Special Adviser (SSA) on the occasion of his birthday.

Today, we celebrate a man whose life is a remarkable testimony of God's grace, faithfulness, integrity, and unwavering commitment to the cause of Christ. Your ministry has strengthened leaders, nurtured ministers, promoted unity, and advanced the Kingdom of God across Ogun State and beyond.

The Scriptures declare: The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bear fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing (Psalms 92:12-14).

Indeed, your life is a living expression of this promise. Through every season, the Lord has preserved you, increased your influence, and made you a vessel of honour, wisdom, and blessing to countless lives.

As you celebrate another year of divine faithfulness, we pray that the Lord will continually renew your strength like the eagle's, enlarge your spiritual influence, deepen your wisdom, and empower you for even greater exploits. May fresh oil rest upon your life, your ministry continue to blossom, and your latter glory surpass all that God has done through you in years past.

"Even to your old age and gray hairs I am He, I am He who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you -Isaiah 46:4"

May the Lord bless you with long life, divine health, uncommon peace, abundant joy, and the fulfillment of every prophetic promise concerning your life. May your voice continue to shape generations, your counsel remain a source of wisdom, and your legacy endure for many years to come.

Happy Birthday, Sir!

May your best years still lie ahead, and may the Lord continually crown your life with His goodness and unfailing mercy.

Congratulations and many happy returns!
