RIGHTEOUS IDOL WORSHIPPER?

I wondered why I was in the queue of the accused at all. I am intelligent, aggressive, young, totally committed to my God. What am I doing here with this sheet of supposed sins in my hand: I wondered?

I don’t drink, I don't smoke, I don’t fornicate, I don’t steal, I am righteous. Others should be here not me.

It was finally my turn to face the Man.

I placed my sheet before Him, He glanced at it and sighed softly. He looked at me and calmly said, ‘Guilty of idol worship.'

Imagine my anger, my fury, my indignation. I jumped out of the chair and said ‘Of course not! Check the sheet again, check the name, It can't be mine.’

He sighed again and mentioned one of my names that no one knows.

I would not be stopped. It's impossible’ I yelled. I worship only God, the Most High, Maker of heaven and earth, the King of kings and Lord of lords. I bow down to none, I have no talisman, no amulet, no pot underneath my bed.

‘You are guilty of idol worship’ He repeated calmly.

He looked at me, I looked at Him. It seemed like forever. The room was silent. I could hear the clock ticking.

Then slowly I understood.

I am never late for bus/train station or air flight but I am always late to church - I blinked.

My payments to services I enjoy eg: Dstv, phone bills etc, are never late but I haven’t given offerings/tithes in three months - I looked down.

When meeting one of our local chiefs last week I would not even pick a call in the presence of earthly royalty, but I WhatsApp in church

I wouldn’t interrupt my performance appraisal with my boss for anything but I missed church last week because of a series on TV

I wouldn’t let a day end without talking to my spouse but today I just said Hi God, Bye God. And I didn’t even pray last night - The room began to feel hot.

I would never miss going to the bank because of the weather but I missed fellowship on Tuesday and Thursday because it was drizzling .

I would wear my party colors to party meetings and not care what anyone thought of me: but I hate to talk to my workmates about God because of what they will think of me.

I always have the latest tech gadget you can think of but my bible is so worn out. I can’t even find the book of Jude in my bible anymore.

The last thing to touch before going to bed is my phone and the first thing in the morning....chating on WhatsApp or replying offline messages, never bothering to talk with God or reading His word.

I felt so hot in the room, a nervous sweat on my forehead, I felt so ill and weak, all of my anger and self-righteousness were gone, leaving immense guilt in its wake.

I slowly got off the chair and knelt by His feet and said ‘I am sorry, I am guilty as charged, Guilty of idol worship, guilty of placing others; humans and technology before You. I am guilty of idol worship.’

He smiled gently, looked at me with those passionate eyes of His, full of love and He gave me a fresh sheet!and said, Deliver souls!!

If time would permit you, you can also share or inform others to alert them as I know they are not aware of what they are doing.

There is no perfect marriage. There is no ready made marriage. Marriage is hard work. Volunteer yourself to work daily on it. Marriage is like a car that needs proper maintenance and proper service. If this is not done it will break down somewhere exposing the owner to danger or some unhealthy circumstances. Let us not be careless about our marriages.

God cannot give you a complete person you desire. He gives you the person in the form of raw materials in order for you to mould the person that you desire. This can only be achieved through prayer, love and Patience

Getting married is taking a huge risk. You can not predict what will happen in the future. Situations may change so leave room for adjustments. Husband can lose his good job or you may fail to have babies. All these require you to be prayerful otherwise you might divorce.

*Secret 9*
Marriage is not a contract. It is permanent. It needs total commitment. Love is the glue that sticks the couple together. Divorce start in the mind and the devil feeds the mind. Never ever entertain thoughts of getting a divorce. Never threaten your spouse with divorce. Choose to remain married. God hates divorce.

*Secret 10*
Every marriage has a price to pay. Marriage is like a bank account. It is the money that you deposit that you withdraw. If you don't deposit love, peace and care into your marriage, you are not a candidate for a blissful home.

*So today let us pray for our marriages and ask God to help us where we are lacking in the marriage. Send to those you care about because you never know who may be helping. May God bless you all.

It's 38 years, November 2nd....Baba mi, JOSIAH OLUFEMI AKINDAYOMI, that you were called into glory. Today, we remember you as always. Seeing and experiencing what God had used you for, that still speaks volumes. Anytime I remember some of the Scriptures used during the funeral, this stands out, Gen 26:13, which the preacher that day, of his blessed memory, Pastor Odunaike, of Foursquare Church quoted as, "Akindayomi lo, o si npo si gidigidi"...(in Yoruba).These words still speaks, as the seed God used you to sow then, still spreading, growing and keeps growing and becoming very great. Hallelujah! We are celebrating your life, not you being dead, because your work is still alive and well. Your legacy of sowing into people's lives, is still alive speaking. THE REDEEMED CHRISTIAN CHURCH OF GOD, which was hardly known then, has become an household name all over the world, as God told you. Changing and turning people's lives around to their maker. No wonder, Prov 10:7...says, "The memory of the righteous is blessed".....Remembering you, Baba mi, not just today, but always. Continue to rest in the Lord your God, till we meet to part no more.

Bible Reading: 1Peter 5:8

5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Meaning...

It's a new week. We bless God for our lives. Hallelujah.

Today's teaching by the grace of God is a way of rekindling our fire before, during and after a victory.

Therefore I will like to take it one after the other.

Brethren, when life becomes so unbearable and it seems you are the only one feeling what is happening to you.

I know you understand what I am saying. Those times when you keep asking yourself "WHY IS LIFE LIKE THIS?; AM I THE ONLY ONE ON EARTH? That moment, I am telling you now, DON'T REST YET. DON'T GIVE UP AND SAY IT IS OVER.

The main reason why you are going through that challenge at this moment is that your hour of delivery has come.
See this scripture for confirmation... Jesus said in
"John 16:21 A woman when she is in travail hath SORROW, BECAUSE HER HOUR IS COME, BUT AS SOON AS SHE IS DELIVERED OF THE CHILD, SHE REMEMBERS NO MORE THE ANGUISH, FOR JOY THAT A MAN IS BORN INTO THE WORLD"

Now that you know this, Don't Rest Yet, because RESTING during LABOUR MAY CAUSE STILL-BIRTH.
I pray for you that what you have laboured for will not die in Jesus Name Amen.

The second reason why you don't need to rest now is that you are still in the battle front. Any soldier that rests when war is going on is play with his life.

Brethren, during your trying times you needn't rest. Resting is good but NOT when the battle is hot.
King David in the Bible RESTED, while other kings were battling and trying to gain more territories. Because he rested when he ought not to rest he committed his greatest offence in his whole life time.

See what the bible says; 2 Samuel 11:1 And it came to pass, after the year was expired, AT THE TIME WHEN KINGS GO FORTH TO BATTLE, that David sent Joab... But David TARRIED still at Jerusalem.
(Read the rest of the story in, "2Samuel 11:1-27").

The word TARRY here means; ' To abide, stay or wait"

David Abode, Stayed Back, Waited and Rested in Jerusalem DURING a battle and it cost him something more than he ever thought of.

Brethren, Don't Rest Yet. Keep Fighting Because The battle against the devil and his cohorts is too high for any Christian to rest during the war.

Now having mentioned those two above, you may be wondering and thinking that "WHEN SHOULD ONE THEN REST?"
At least after a victory someone should take a time to rest!

You are saying the truth according to your own opinion but biblically, I will also say, DON'T REST YET.
You may ask again that EVEN AFTER A VICTORY? Emphatically YES. Don't Rest Yet!

Brethren, I want you to know today and let it also be registered into your subconscious mind that "Devil Is Never Tired".

In Luke chapter 4 from verses 1 through 12, the devil came to TEMPT Jesus Christ. When Jesus defeated him with the power of the Word the bible vividly say in verses 13 of Luke chapter 4...
" Luke 4:13 And when the devil had ended all the temptation, HE DEPARTED FROM HIM FOR A SEASON.
Meaning, even if you defeat the devil now, he will still come again to try you. He will never accept defeat. Therefore DON'T REST YET.

Finally, our opening text says "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, SEEKING WHOM HE MAY DEVOUR."

May we not be devoured by the devil In Jesus Name Amen.

Therefore, the main reason why you shouldn't rest yet is because of the devil. He Is Never Tired.

NOTE: After Pharaoh allowed Israel to go out of Egypt, he followed them again. Imagine if they were resting on their way, WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED TO THEM?
Therefore, DON'T REST YET BECAUSE THE DEVIL IS LOOKING FOR THE WEAK & THE TIRED AMONG US CHRISTIAN IN OTHER TO DESTROY THEM.

Prayer: Father, give me the strength I need so that I will not rest until I get home with You In Jesus Name Amen.
