Issues Surrounding E'id.
Islamic Knowlege is becoming germain as the present muslim Ummah requires empirical, supernatural, philosophical, psychological and mystical based facts and objectives. The time of Solātul Eidayn has since last Eidul-Fitri become a point of discussion. Questions were raised by Muslims who are craving for better understanding and better practice of islam as a part of their lives. This same senerio has cropped up again as Eidul Adhā is approaching. Therefore I bring to you the following information as my own litle contribution to the development of Islamic knowledge.
The Fatwa Committee at Dar Al-Iftaa said that the time for Eid prayers begins from the time of sunrise; that is, about a third of an hour after sunrise, which - according to the General Authority for Survey - is in the morning, and extends until the ~sun sets~, that is, about a third of an hour before noon, that is, the time for performing it ends. Before the noon call to prayer.
While reading their jurisprudence position, I realized that there are three phases of Eid prayers for those who missed them, but to avoid ambuguities and for immediate purpose, I will dwell on one of the phases.
The time for Eid prayer is the time for Duha prayer. It begins one-third of an hour after sunrise and extends to one-third of an hour before the noon call to prayer. If noon time begins, do not pray it, because its time has passed.
The authors of the Encyclopedia of Jurisprudence divided the forms of performing the Eid prayers into three…
1. The Eid prayer was performed in congregation at its time on the first day, but it was missed by some individuals. The ruling in this case is that it was missed without making up for it, so it is not made up, regardless of the excuse. This is because it is a special prayer that is only prescribed for a specific time and with special restrictions; the restrictions must be integrated into the prayer, including time. This is according to the Hanafis and Malikis. As for the Shafi’is, they stated that it is permissible to make up for it - according to the correct opinion in the doctrine - at any time and however one wants; alone or in a group, based on their approved principle, which is that it is permissible to make up for all voluntary prayers.
As for the Hanbalis, they said that the Eid prayer is not to be made up. If one wishes to make up for it, he has the choice, if one wishes, to pray it four times, either with one salutation (Teslím), or with two salutations.
