ADULTHOOD, MARRIAGE..... A SCAM?

There is a saying now among many that: Adulthood is a scam/ Adulthood na scam.
Some new adults are overwhelmed by the demands, responsibilities & duties associated with the new phase of life and saw it not to be what was anticipated, expected, prayed for. Hence the the saying: ' Adulthood is a scam'.
Some folks also don't get their expectation met in marriages too.
A popular saying around goes thus: Marriage Is the only institution where you are given a certificate at the entrance into the institution.
Some years back, I spoke with someone in the person of Mrs Olarewaju Akinronbi, who is of a different School of thought from the popular saying. She said marriage is an institution where you ought to have learnt as much as you could, researched, taught then you are given a certificate to go and practice just like it's done for other professions. Medicine, engineering, law etc, you are taught, supervised, in some instances a sort of internship is done before being awarded a certificate to go and practice. Even after been given a certificate, there is need to keep acquiring knowledge and training to continually being on the cutting edge.
That should be the same case with Adulthood and marriage.
People ought to have been taught from the earliest accountable age what it takes to be an adult, the requirements, learning from those who have both succeeded and those who have failed. How to move past failure, how to be a good father, a good brother, a good wife, sister, friend, colleague, in-law, etc.
As the scripture says:
Train up a child in the way he should go [and in keeping with his individual gift or bent], and when he is old he will not depart from it (Proverbs 22:6 AMPC).
And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. (II Timothy 2:2 NKJV).

Parents, care givers, mentors etc are to do their part in training their children, wards, protégés to be ready for Adulthood, marriage, parenting and life in general. Or why should we leave them to find out from Life?

We can save the next generation from saying adulthood: marriage na scam if we start training them rightly today.

BEING WEARY

Been weary simply means to be tired, fa**ed out or burned out.
Everyone can get to a point in their lives when they could become weary; be it spiritually, mentally, emotionally, financially, physically.
If you have ever been at such a state or you are presently, You are normal. Anyone can become weary. Don't let anyone shove it down your throat, that you are a weakling or a bad person for being weary or expressing that you are weary at some point in your life and or walk with God.
Sisters and Brothers, you shouldn't be someone who will make people feel worse of than they are feeling because they are feeling weary or because they spoke out, what you are doing is being like one of Job's friends, and GOD said they didn't represent him well (And so it was, after the Lord had spoken these words to Job, that the Lord said to Eliphaz the Temanite, “My wrath is aroused against you and your two friends, for you have not spoken of Me what is right, as My servant Job has, Job 42:7 NKJV)

Samson with all his strength got weary at some point in his life, this was even after a mighty quest (And so it was, when he had finished speaking, that he threw the jawbone from his hand, and called that place Ramath Lehi. Then he became very thirsty; so he cried out to the Lord and said, “You have given this great deliverance by the hand of Your servant; and now shall I die of thirst and fall into the hand of the uncircumcised?”, Judges 15:17-18 NKJV).
Elijah, so great a man mighty used by GOD got tired and even ran away when threats were made upon his life by Jezebel in 1 Kings 19.
Moses complained about the people of Israel, because they wearied him alot.
So be it physically, mentally, spiritually, it's possible that the best of us could get weary from the demands and circumstances of life.
I need you to come to the truth that: because you have been weary or often times weary hasn't stopped you from being a child of God or made you lesser. GOD loves you.
Psalms 23:3 says 'He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.' (NKJV).
GOD can always restore us, as we allow Him. GOD doesn't want anyone of us to stay down, He wants us to keep to keep rising and never get defeated by anything whatsoever (For a righteous man may fall seven times And rise again, But the wicked shall fall by calamity. Proverbs 24:16, NKJV).
So, no matter what you may have gone through or going through or may have to go through in the Future, God's mind for you is to finish strong, to rise up again and again and finish your race.

God is able to restore your soul just as HE did for Samson when he was thirsty in Judges 15:19 (So God split the hollow place that is in Lehi, and water came out, and he drank; and his spirit returned, and he revived. Therefore he called its name En Hakkore, which is in Lehi to this day. NKJV). Romans 8:11 says: But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you (NKJV), as GOD's spirit dwells in you, HE will give life to every aspect of your being.

GOD will restore your strength, your zeal, re-ignite your fire. Your call is not over, you can rise again.
Joel 3:10b says: Let the weak say, ‘I am strong.’ ” (NKJV).

This time, with a restored soul, renewed strength, better strategy.

GOD's Love

Love, they say is a universal language that cuts across different barriers; from age, to s*x, to different pedigrees, etc.
The purest form of or kind of love is GOD's Love.
GOD's love is sacrificial, phenomenon. He loved us, loves us, even when it seems like there is nothing with loving in us, us meaning mankind.
Truth is, you might not be feeling loved by GOD at the moment or for a longer time than you can imagine.
I just came to tell you, remind you, to let you know GOD loves you unconditionally, Inspite of whatever you are feeling, done, going through, think or your orientation.
For GOD so loved the world (you and me) that HE chose to redeem us from law of sin and death, to give us eternal life (that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. John 3:15-17, NKJV).
Let's be rest assured of this truth that nothing can separate us from the Love of GOD. Not tribulations, feelings, deeds, things present, things to come can separate us from the Love of GOD (Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:37-39, NKJV)

All HE wants is for us to accept HIS hand of fellowship, HIS love gesture towards us.

HE has loved us with an everlasting Love.

GOD HEALS.

The anniversary of my church and the mid term break of the second term of the secondary school I attended often coincidental.
Though I wasn't a fan of traveling "home" for mid term break, I always looked forward for the 2nd term mid term break as it coincident with the anniversary of my church.
The time has always been a time to look forward to for me. The atmosphere, Worship, Word, instructions, directions, It is always an awesome time in GOD's presence.
There was this year anniversary, not sure the exact year, as the minister was rounding up his session in one of the anniversary days, he made an altar call for those whose fingers weren't of the same length,he had taught us how to check. Quite a number of us, including me noted that our fingers were not of the same length, some were a few centimeters, some more. Interesting that some of us didn't even know we had that *deformity*
GOD's power touched us all and people's fingers became of same length.

How GOD did it will always be unfathomable. GOD has a way of perfecting things.
Whether HE shrinked or elongated. HE just did it.
Whatever you may be going through, man may not know nor have explanation but God, GOD does and HE sure can heal that situation of yours. You need something lengthen, shrinked, removed, strengthen, whatever it may be.

GOD does heals

He has healed me and HE sure can heal you. Even now.

He can.

WHICH ARE YOU

Here is a story of different individuals who want primarily the same thing, but goes about it via different routes.

Person A.
A blackmails almost everyone,they do not mind blackmailing their partners if need be.
A makes their children believe they are the only ones looking after them, they are the ones bringing in all the resources, making all sacrifices for their children, everything they do is because of their children and no one else helps, they pause their lives just for their children. They make their children believe they are mandated to look after them in their old age because of all they did.

Person B.
B is of the opinion of using mediums, sorcery etc to manipulate and get their way with anyone. They can go to any length. Some involve their children, they try to manipulate their children's lives to suite them and demand what they want.

Person C
C believes in giving your best to nurture and training children. Knowing that they are God's gift. C does this heartily and believes God to handle what they can't. Just as God promised that when you do what is right, HE will ensure you are taken care of and have a good burial when you are gone.

Person D.
D, D does all they can primarily for themselves, invest for themselves. Their thoughts is that they can't guarantee tomorrow or that their children will inturn take care of them. So primarily, everything is about themselves, i.e What they stand to gain.

Other Person(s) E, F, etc exist.
What each individual want is a good life not only in their active working years but also in their old age.
It is wise that children take care of their parents, not necessarily because their parents took care of them or not. It is a form of honor to their parents.
Plan to take care of your parents as God will keep prospering you, and also the Bible says Honor your father and mother so that your days may be long

Which parent are you? A, B, C, D, etc?

How are you doing your parenting?

Does the end justify the means?

YOU ARE NOT ALONE
When life brings you unpleasant moment or when you go through threatening process, remember there are others going through the same situations just like you, though yours may be peculiar to you, but there are people going through the same process just like you.
Due to your own peculiarities, no other individual will be able to feel exactly the way you feel in your own situation. But be sure, others too have their own peculiarities too. So you know what, you are not alone in that situation, circumstance, or process. More importantly, GOD is with you in every situation. For HE said, I will never leave nor forsake you.
There is nothing new under the sun; we are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses’. Many others have gone through what you are going through and came out victoriously. God has Helped people come out victoriously, so helping you is what He can and He is willing to do only if you will allow HIM,
Allow GOD help you.
You are not alone.
GOD is with you always.

DON'T STOP

There might be times when all you did was just genuinely seeking and serving GOD, not because of anything, but just out of love. And boom, GOD just sends a word.
You may or not like the Word.
Irrespective of your stand, there is a tendency of you slowing down especially if you don't like or want what GOD said, or you think it's cumbersome. You might slow down, postpone or even stop devotion, fellowship, intimacy with the Father.
There is a tendency you want your life back to "normal", want your life back, don't want to keep hearing such Words. You might even think of running away like Jordan.
DON'T STOP
Don't stop your devotion to GOD because of anything thing and definitely not because of what HE said.
Remember, what the LORD your GOD requires of you is for your good. HIS plans for you, are good and to give you an expected end. GOD gives grace according to CHRIST gift in each of us.
Also remember, we are transformed by HIS Word, we go from strength to strength as we appear before Zion.
So... DON'T STOP, continue your devotion to GOD, your intimacy and fellowship with him.

In it you will gain strength to become all HE has said.

FORGIVE: THIS TIME YOURSELF

Forgiveness is part of our Christian walk. "Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those that trespass against us"
It's good we forgive those who have hurt us, abused us, etc. It helps to release us from held back hurts, it helps us to live optimally.
Since we know forgiveness is important and needed, and we are enjoined to forgive others.

Today I want to enjoin you to forgive yourself.
Forgive yourself for being at that place where you were hurt, Forgive yourself for trusting the person that betrayed you, forgive yourself for failing, for falling, for not being good enough, for not trying enough, for not be there at the right time.

Forgive yourself, it's very important.

TRUST HIM

My assignment in this piece is to tell you, remind you, encourage you brethren that GOD is Faithful and HE can be Trusted. You can have faith in the faithfulness of GOD.

Brothers and Sisters, whatever you may be facing or going through, I need you to make a conscious effort and focus on GOD and wait on HIM.

If GOD said it, He can and will bring it to pass. He has all the resources at His disposal to make all things work together for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. He will bring you out and you will have a testimony.
Abraham is called the father of Faith. GOD promised him a son. He kept on waiting and at an appointed time, GOD told him the specific of his son, name and time of birth (Gently 17:19,21).

Brothers and Sisters, focus on GOD and wait on Him till you hear your own specifics.

Don't forget Hebrews 10:35-36 which states:

Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise
(Hebrews 10:35‭-‬36 NKJV)

Trust GOD, He will come. Through for you.

LOVE II

John 21:15,17
JESUS in the passage asked Apostle Peter do you love me and He told him to feed his sheep and tend His sheep.
Do you love people? Like really love them? Your spouse, children, siblings, friends etc. Can you say you love them genuinely?

If your answer is YES.

Then let me ask, are you feeding their sheep and tending their sheep.

To Feed is to provide food, supply materials, power, information.
To Tend is to care for, to look after.
Do you feed and tend the dreams, vision, desires, aspiration, talent etc of those you claim to Love.
Do you take conscious effort to know what is needed to feed and tend them in different areas of their lives.
You should if you truly and genuinely love them.

LOVE
Gen 22:2. Then He said, take now your son, your only son Isaac and go to the land of Moraiah and offer him on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.

Love is a very strong passion for someone or something. The subject of love is a very wide spectrum. We will dealing with just a part of it in this article.

Coincidentally the passage Gen 22:2 points out the first mention of the word love in the Bible. It speaks of the love a father has for his beloved and cherished son.

We can deduce that Abraham cherished Isaac and would do almost anything to protect him and his interest; he was very fond of him, and will not stress Issac at all.
Let me ask, how do you treat the ones you claim/profess to love?
Our attention for now is:
GOD requested for Isaac whom Abraham loves, the next verse tells us, Abraham rose early to go and obey GOD.

Be sincere with yourself, what you loved, cherish most, be it your spouse, significant other, children, siblings, pet, car, career, profession, wealth etc. If GOD request for it, will you be willing and obedient to GOD's request/commandment?
If you can't release anyone, anything, standards etc to GOD's call and commandments, it no longer love, it's tending towards obsession.
If things, events have to always go the way you prefer, as you want, as you wish, etc and you will not obey GOD till what you want is in place, maybe it's not love, it could be tending towards obsession or possession.

In verses 16-18 of Genesis 22, GOD blessed Abraham for his action.
Being able to release what you love to/for GOD is a show of trust to GOD and it would bring you into deeper realms with GOD.
