Engaging with God

As you relate with God,
Keep on your mind that
what you don't ask, you won't receive.
What you don't seek, you won't find
The door you don't knock won't open.

This is your call to pray!

As you ask, seek and knock,
Do it without stopping.

Keep asking till you receive,
Keep seeking till you find,
Keep knocking till the door opens.

As you engage with God, Give Him praise, worship with thanksgiving.
Keep engaging with God
It is right thing to do

Prayer is engaging with God.
Engage God in prayer,
He answers prayer!

Topic:Faith and Its Growth 1

Text: Luk 17:5-6 LOGOS

5 And the apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith."

6 So the Lord said, "If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, 'Be uprooted and be planted in the sea,' and it would obey you.

Jesus submits mustard seed may be very small but it grows to become a big tree.
By this He meant, size does not affect viable mustard seed to producing big tree. A mustard seed may be tiny, yet, it has what it takes to grow to produce large tree. With mustard seed, Jesus is illustrating, saying, the same is true of faith. Where faith exists, it has inbuilt capacity as does mustard seed, the ability to produce outstanding result.

Jesus, here, corrected the error of the disciples thinking of faith in term of increase, possibly, in size. He is saying, mustard seed don't have to increase to produce big tree nor does faith has to increase to get result. Therefore, size is not a problem with faith, to get things done. Even if you have faith as tiny as mustard seed, you have dynamite to work with.

The emphasis of Jesus is on having faith and the capability of faith . He appears saying, don't be surprised that the tiny mustard seed contains all it needs to grow to a big tree. Although it is small in size, it just needs good environment to blossom. He asserts, you will surely have a big tree from a tiny mustard seed, a means by which He insists faith is productive.

Just as tiny mustard seed has capacity in it though it is small in size, so also faith has all it takes to produce outstanding result where it is found. To have mustard tree, what you need is the seed and though it is small, you have a big tree, though a small seed is in your hands!

The issue therefore, is when you have a mustard seed, that small seed is a big tree that with right environment, will produce large tree. In the same way, existence of faith is what we need to let lose our miracles.

Given right environment, faith will grow to producing signs and wonders. Thus, faith is dynamic. If there is faith in you, its size is not a problem, it will grow to bevome powerful instrument to work with.

We can't overemphasize that faith must exists in us. The issue is whether you have faith or not.

I want to believe you have faith. The matter is that how do you know you have faith. You don't doubt reality of a mustard seed when you have one on your hands. The same way you should be sure you have faith in order to produce results in your journey of life with God.

How you could be sure you have faith in you is our next discussion. It is in our best informed interest to ascertain we have faith as Christians. We must settle permanently, the issue of having faith or not. Settling this issue is important to our present and future life with God.

Prayer Points
Ask God to give you understanding of the idea of faith and trust in Him.

Topic: Understanding God's Love as Grace

Text: Heb.4:15-16 WPNT

15 For we do not have a High Priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but He was tested in all points, in similar ways, without sin.

16 So let us approach the throne of grace with confidence, that we may receive mercy and find grace, for timely help.

Grace works. Grace speaks. Grace equips. Grace enables. Grace gives. Grace operates. Grace is obtainable. Grace is power. Grace empowers. Grace has no plural. Grace is grace. There is all grace and there is God of all grace. Grace works in all areas of human endeavors. Grace is accessible.

Grace does not operate on rights or entitlements. No one can work to earn grace. Grace is not merited or a right to claim by anyone. Grace is of Jesus Christ. Grace belongs to Jesus Christ. If you are born again, you have found grace. Grace abides, grace abound. However, there no grace to sin for we can't continue in sin and thinks grace will abide let alone abound. Again, there is no grace to sin but there is Throne of Grace, where mercy is dispensed. At the Throne, of Grace, mercy is received and grace is found for help in all needs (Heb.4:16).

Grace is not corrupt and it can't be corrupted. Grace is God’s love demonstrated on the behalf of humankind. Grace has appeared to all humankind, teaching us to say no to ungodliness. Grace is one of the ways God expresses His love to humankind.

You see, love is abstract term until it is expressed. Of course, the idea of love expression means there is object of love on which love could be expressed. John 3: 16 insists God so love the world that He gave His only begotten Son... The world is the object of God's love and humankind in particular.

Love of God is selfless, it is agape, which seeks the wellbeing and beneficial interest of its object. God's love always looks out for and works toward betterment of humankind. In fact, He makes all things to work well for our good, including our errors and mistakes. He ensures it is well with the works of His hands, especially, human beings, of which you are one.

Love reaches humans in three ways. These are mercy, grace and favor. He takes care of our sin by His mercy, as it forgives and justifies a sinners because of Jesus Christ. God's mercy makes Him not to treat us the way we deserve. We deserve to be punished for our sin but God chose to forgive us because we accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

Grace on the other hands ensure we receive good things we do not deserve. We don't deserve to be treated nicely because of sin. While mercy does not treat us as we deserve, grace treats us to what we don't deserve. We, humankind gain with mercy and grace apply for us. Grace ensures we have God do for us things we are not entitle to. Grace does not operate on rights and claims as such, activism can't work it out. What we can't claim, things we don't deserve to have, grace makes them accessible to us freely, because we belong to Jesus Christ. Grace operate God's loving-kindness by making us access God's treasure not because we have right to it but for we are of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Heb. 4:16 shows grace has its throne, where it decide issues to the benefit of humankind. It says, if God has given us His only Son, what else could be so special to Him that He won't freely give us? Grace is of Jesus Christ that opens God's treasures of all kinds to humankind because we accept the redeeming sacrifice of Jesus Christ for ourselves. Grace is Jesus Christ at work and He got all areas of our lives covered. Grace has, no plural. All grace is available to children of God from God of all grace at the Throne of Grace. There is grace for timely help at the Throne of Grace. Grace is yours to seek and those who seek shall find. More so, there is grace overflow, where our needs are met beyond what need for ourselves. Grace when it overflows, your needs are met beyond your immediate limit. You can recall the Prophet’s wife of 2King 4:1-7. After paying her debt, freed her sons from slavery, she became oil merchant. Bartimeus met grace overflow and he never was blind again. May you have a story to tell because grace is flowing your way right now. You could channel grace to specific areas of your need coming confidently to the throne of grace. It is time to pray. Ask for grace overflow!

Topic: Some Reasons You Should Win the Battles of Life (1)

Text:Col 2:13-15 KJ2000*

13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, has he made alive together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;

14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

In this first part, we examine today's passage as basis for the reasons we will briefly highlight later editions. Christian victories in life are the implications of the redemption history to humankind and Christians in particular. Verses under review are considered as witnesses to three things which earch verses describes. Take a look:

1. We Have New Status Because of Jesus Christ

Verse 13 describes what we have been under sin and Satan and what we are now as redeemed of the Lord Jesus Christ. Dead in sin but now alive in Christ is a status we must let sink into our subconscious mind. This is our true identity we must not allow the devil to confuse.

More so, this status is eternal gift we must protect. Salvation might be free for us but it has been expensive for God and His Son, Jesus Christ. Because of the cost of our salvation to God, we are seen in the light of cost, which is the Son of the Living God. As you will value your things based on what it costs you to have so also God places high premium on everyone who turns God through Jesus Christ. As Christians, we mean much to God. Being alive now shows ability to live as Christ has lived doing what He wants us to do. You must keep your mind on this truth and live so!

2. We are Justified Because of Jesus Christ

Besides, verse 14 shows we are not only redeemed, we do not have any record of wrong too. The day the Lord showed me this truth in Heb 11, that He does not keep record of human sins, my heart rejoice at the work of redemption. It gives pace to my stride as child of God. In Heb 11, you could see someone like Abraham who married Hagar and the problems that the marriage is still causing the world, yet, he is seen as hero of faith. Do note this truth, God is not interested in counting your mistakes against you. This is not because He is now careless about sin but because of redeeming work of Jesus Christ, we are seen as if we never sinned. Read Heb 11 yourself, you will see some others we may not want to let go off their offences but God never kept records of their wrongs.

Nevertheless, I must say records of human wrong is still kept, though not by God but Satan. Satan keeps this wrong to use them to accuse us, especially when we now we belong to God. Verse 14 wants us to be well informed and to hold our ground that by asserting our justification because we believe Jesus Christ. Of course truth sets free. Know this truth and stand on it any time any day, because of Jesus Christ. Again, anyone who turns to Jesus Christ will have their life records of sin canceled which means Satan can't use it any more. This is great hope that even if you sin as a Christian, if you will repent and confess your sin to God, the blood of Jesus Christ will cleanse you there and then. More so, when the devil comes with his flood of condemnation, you are to let him know you know the truth of your relationship with God and because of Jesus Christ, you have a new status forgiveness has conver on you.

3. Because of Jesus Christ, You are More Than Conqueror

Verse 15 shows a cultural issue you must understand. When a warrior returns from war front victorious, his spoilt of war, both human and material are brought to his home to the king. Other spoil of war are distributed as are deemed fit. However, the human beings who most times include the king and his royalties are kept for a later day to be paraded to the public as evidences that warrior is really conqueror. The conquered king and family members among others would lead in the front followed by others in public show through major streets. The warrior would ride on horse as winner while the losers are paraded infront of Him as evidence that he has indeed won the war.

Today's passage insists this is what Jesus Christ did on resurrection day. The redeeming sacrifice of Jesus Christ was a deadly blow to Satan. He lost his grip on humankind as Jesus paid the price of sin, submitting to the death on the cross. You see, Jesus conquered Satan and his demons for humankind to free. Thus, verse 15 is saying Satan and his demons had lost the battle over humankind as Jesus has secured victory over by His resurrection. His death is the price for sin of humankind and His resurrection is the reason we could live as God wants us to live. By His Victory, Jesus is said to do as conqueror would paraded the spoil of war. This means Satan and his cohorts as losers before God of creation have been paraded by Jesus Christ on the "street of Heaven." Take it seriously, Satan knows he has been publicly displayed as loser over humankind.

In our daily life, we face Satan that has been defeated. Thus, we should confirm his defeat and that of his helpers, by consciously seeking, displaying and saying what we know are truth. We are to asserts our knowledge of truth on all matters. Christians are said to be more than conqueror. This means, there is no Christian that is permitted to be ruled by Satan except those who live in ignorance. You must stand up to Satan all fronts. I make bold to say, because of Jesus Christ, no part of your life is permited to be ruled by the enemy or fail to accomplish the plans and purpose of God. You must live to this expectation by confronting life and its battles head on with truth.

Prayer Points
Praise and worship God with the words of your mouth. Thank Him profusely. Confront your challenges with appropriate truth, God's word is truth.

*Topic: You Can't Prosper Beyond God's Word You Know and Act Upon*

*Text:Isa 55:10-11 KJ2000*

*10 For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and returns not there, but waters the earth, and makes it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:*

*11 So shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.*

God works by His word. God's word at work shows His word only comes back to give positive report of job done. This means God's word will neve reports inability to accomplish God's purpose or plan. Thus, *until God purpose for sending His word is fulfilled, God's word will remain where He sent it, working, its way out to ensure God's plan comes to pass* . This means even if you have not believed God's word sent to you, God's word meant for you, sent or said to you, will remain with you! Take note of this, God's word sent to you remains with you, waiting for your conviction so that you will do your part to make God's plan a reality. Your believe in what God says is important to your appropriate response and your correct response is needed to bring the expected result or God's plan to reality.

Today's passage insists, while you have not responded as expected, God's word remains with you waiting for when you will understand what God is saying so that you will respond to Him appropriately. Listen to God saying in verse 11 above, "My word... that goes forth out of my mouth shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it." Remember Luk 6:63, Jesus insists, words He speaks is living and is Spirit. *The living spirit statement God sends to you can't die and will never be unable to do God's will.*

I am strongly convinced to let you know that God meant what He says concerning you. He is serious about making His *plans for your life work. There are glorious living word of God over your life, family and business. You have a wonderful promises of God for your life waiting for you to believe and correctly respond to let your positive change takes place* . Your best deal today is to pray, letting God know you trust Him with your life.

Remember this and always, you can't cease from personal struggles unless you find God's word that addresses your concern in life. When you hear or have God's word with you and believe what God is saying, you enter His rest. *While God ceases from His work and you believe in His word, your believe admits you into His rest*. As you make His rest, you will discover what you should do as your part of His deal to let you enjoy His rest. God in His rests have His word continue to work for Him and for you. Since by God's design, He works with human beings to help fellow human beings, whatever we do while in God's Rest will be God's instructions for life and it cannot fail. *The servant that took water that turned to win needed no struggle to change water to win but just needed to fetch the water and bear the cup to the Master of Ceremony* . In our lives as individual or group, it is important to note that we can only succeed to the extent that our believe helps us to act right on what God says to us. Of course, *You can't do well in life above God's word you believe and appropriately respond to.* You don't know your life's attainment yet, until you begin to believe God's word and do what you are asked to do! Believe!!!

*Prayer Points*

1. *Consistently ask God for insight into His plans for your life as His word abundantly carries that information you need to act on.*

2. *Pray that He gives you grace to help you understand his plans as He speaks with you.*

*Topic: Faith: and the Story of Water Turned Wine*

*Text:Heb 11:1 UDB*
*1. Faith is when people trust God and they are sure they will receive the things they confidently expect him to give them. Faith is when people are certain they will see those things happen, though, for now, those things cannot be seen*

In the story of provision of wine in John 2, there are several individuals involved. We have the couples, the family members, including Mummy Mary, the wedding planners, the director or master of the ceremony, certain servants and guests. These people participated in different ways before and during the program. However, to say it mildly preparation proved inadequate. Thus, help was needed to, forestall embarrassment.

As right thinking people, there were consultation as to what to do. One options to taking care of the mess as we learn from the master of the ceremony, was to offer the guest cheap wine. But in this case, everything was gone and the ceremony was not near its end. What was obvious was shame staring the couple in the face. Thank God for Savior Jesus Christ was also invited. *The story changed by just two sentences Jesus made.* I can't overstate the truth that God works by speaking. True to His, way of doing things Jesus simply x calmly spoke:
*1. "Fill the pots with water,"* (Jon. 2:7) and *they did
2. " *Draw out now, and bear unto the steward of the feast."** (Jon.2:8). And they bore it. The truth is that they had been told, whatever he asks you to do, do it. I must say to you too, whatever God says concerning your case is what you are act on, however you case might seem difficult.

At a closer consideration of this story, one could see it may be easier to carry out Jesus' call to fill pots with water than to deliver water or is it wine, to the party MC. *All eyes of those who knew what was going on would be on the one who drew water from the pot to give to the MC.* If you are the one on whom this task fell, how would you have felt or behave as, you go to meet the MC? Until the MC's commendation of the new supply of wine, the cup bearer would face the challenge of what would the outcome of his efforts be.

Certain question would be on his mind as he/she goes, to the MC, was he carrying water or wine? At what point will or did the water turned wine? Which one turned wine, the one in the cup being taken to the MC or all the pots? Did the water turned to wine one after the other or at the same time? *At what point did water turned wine?* Could it be the moment the cup bearer fetched and or on His way? Or could, it be when the cup of water reached the MC's tongue? *Was the cup bearer certain the water will turned to wine* ? Was he sure as he fetched water that it will turn wine? So many question you will say!

When acting on God's word, these question are not necessary at all. The most important thing is doing what God asks you to do. *Your step of faith is obedience to the instructions you were given.* Every step of obedience is faith in action, whatever God wants to do you have to do it. We should note that what God would do to bring our miracle will demand you do or act in certain way. When we chose to do whatever God asks us to do, we are already acting in faith for we have not yet seen the reality of God's word.

*Obedience to God's instruction is faith in action.* When Elijah told the widow with an only child to make food fo him first...the most important part of getting her miracle is to obey the prophet. In her acting on the prophet's word is her faith concealed. To begin to question God's word is not right way to walk in the miraculous that God is, known for. It is best to avoid further question once we understand what we are to do. *We have to know what we are told to do and do it. Besides this, nothing else suffices.* Therefore, whatever God asks you to do, you just have do it, how it will turn out is not your headache. When you hear God and you act on His instruction, you throw the ball back into His court. You do what is expected of you and stand to watch if He will fail to make a reality wine from water. Always remember, God watches over His word to perform it.

To solve the challenge we face between hearing what God says and seen the reality of what God meant is Mummy Mary description of faith: Do whatever you are told to do. *When you decide to obey God's word, the crisis of will it or will it not be, will shutdown.* Of course, take this to, heart and take it seriously, if it is God who has spoken, there will be performance of His word.

From water turned into wine story, it is interesting to note that God never produces substandard product unsatisfactory solution. He makes things beautiful and beautifies things in His own time. When dealing with God's word, best thing to do is find out what you are to and do it, however foolish it might seem. Faith is total trust in God that what He says to you on any matter is true and it worthy of correct response. *Faith means you are sure to receive exactly what God has told you. This confidence makes you to act on or what your instructed to do* . Faith confidently expect to see in real time, what God has promised. What God says is the basis of faith, when you find God's word, you have something to bank of life to, draw the miraculous that follows obedience to God's word.

*Prayer Points*
*Lord, I believe you watch over your word to perform it. Let me find grace to trust you as you resolve issues of my life by speaking your word of truth to my life and situations. Thank you for hearing me.*
