We are able ministers of the Gospel.
There's this saying that many are called but few are chosen, this expression was used by Jesus in Matthew 22:14 has been interpreted by people to mean the feast or rapture or the Christians in which all of us have been called but few are pastors or few stick to the faith and are rapturable...
Well this Scripture is simply talking about the general provision of the Salvation plan for the whole world, the chosen few are those who have received salvation (those who have believed Christ unto salvation). Romans 8:30
"Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified" (KJV)
This predestination is not one special one that secludes or makes on person's life better than another, this is the predestination we have in Christ since we believed in His death, burial and resurrection into salvation.
So we have the predestination, we have calling, we have the justification, we have the glorification in Christ Jesus.
We are able ministers of the Gospel
2 Corinthians 3:6
"Who also hath made us able/competent/sufficient ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life (quickens)."
There is an amplification of this ministry, the ministry of the Gospel comparing it with the ministry of the Law, Now this comparison is taken from the very substance of the ministry.
The Law is a writing in itself, dead, and without efficacy: but the Gospel, and new Covenant is the very power of God itself, in renewing, justifying, and saving men.
The Law offers death, accusing all men of unrighteousness: the Gospel offers and gives righteousness and life.
The administration of the Law served for a time to the promise: the Gospel remains to the end of the world. Therefore what is the glory of the Law in comparison of the majesty of the Gospel?
This is our ministry, the ministry of reconciliation, bringing men back to the father. When I say ministry don't think of a church or special writing on the wall tell you to go out, it's your calling already, we grow into this reality.
Finally see this again in 2Cor 5:17-19
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
I am an able minister of the Gospel, so are you.
We have been made so in Christ Jesus. So launch out. No holding back.
At FAM the truth of the Scriptures is what we teach.
