A BOY BORN BLIND: THE DRUMS IN THE DARKNESS( A True Life Story)
He was the last child of the family. The baby everyone expected to be carried around and spoiled.
But at three months old, the doctors gave news that broke the house. He was blind.
For three years, the world to him was sound, touch, and memory. No colors. No faces. No light.
Money was raised for surgery, but it was never enough. The days passed. The years passed. And still, darkness stayed.
Most people would have called that the end of a story.
But for this boy, it was the beginning.
In the quiet of that house, he started finding things with his hands. And one day, his hands found sticks.
He began to beat the cups in the kitchen.
Tok. Tok. Tak.
Again and again. Morning, afternoon, night.
He broke almost every cup in that house. His mother would shout, his siblings would laugh, but he did not stop.
Because in that darkness, he had found rhythm. He had found a voice.
While he could not see, he was learning to listen.
While he could not run, he was learning to create music with what was around him.
The blindness did not make him sit down. It made him sit and pay attention.
For three years he lived like that. Guided by voices. Fed by hope. And drumming on anything that could make a sound.
Then, at four years old, something changed.
After so much waiting, after so much prayer and struggle, he got his sight.
Light entered his world for the first time. Faces. Colors. The sky.
But the most beautiful part was this: he did not waste it.
The boy who had learned to drum in the dark now opened his eyes and drummed with purpose.
What started as beating cups became real drums. What started as noise in the kitchen became music that moved people.
And because he had trained his ears when he could not see, he became exceptional when he could.
He became the best at drumming. Not in spite of those three years of blindness, but because of them.
Today when people ask how he became so good, he just smiles.
They don’t know about the broken cups. They don’t know about the years he couldn’t see.
They only hear the music.
His life is proof of one thing: "your condition is not your conclusion".
For three years the world said “he can’t see.”
For the rest of his life, he decided to make the world hear him.
Maybe you are in your own “three years of darkness” right now.
No money. No opportunity. No clear direction.
But like that boy, you can still pick up a stick.
You can still start with what you have.
You can still make something out of nothing.
Because sometimes, God allows darkness not to destroy you,
but to teach you how to hear, how to feel, and how to create,
so that when the light finally comes, you will know exactly what to do with it.
He was born blind.
But he refused to live blind to his purpose.
And in the dark, he found the drums that would make him known in the light.
"Your condition is not your conclusion".
" Be encouraged"
