September teaching series in summary.
ADVANCING EFFORTLESSLY
To advance means to move forward, grow, expand, and make progress. Therefore, advancing effortlessly means moving forward, growing, expanding, and making progress without unnecessary struggle or difficulty.
It is a smooth-sailing experience—a journey that is relatively stress-free, where God removes obstacles and makes things work together for your good.
However, advancing effortlessly does not mean laziness or the absence of effort. It means God’s grace making hard things easy, strengthening your efforts, and removing obstacles that could frustrate your progress.
GOD IS THE SOURCE OF ADVANCEMENT
Exodus 13:11 shows us that it was God who brought the Israelites out of Egypt and was taking them into the land He had promised.
This establishes a fundamental truth:
God is the One who brings advancement.
There is no lasting advancement without God. Therefore, anyone who desires to advance must learn to follow the leading of God.
FOLLOW GOD'S LEADING
Exodus 13:17 tells us that God did not lead the Israelites through the shorter route, even though it was near. Instead, He chose another route for them, which was longer.
This teaches us that the shortest route is not always the right route.
Sometimes God takes us through a longer route because He knows what lies ahead. The Israelites were battle-ready, but God had a different plan for their journey.
Therefore, when God is leading you, trust His direction even when His route does not look like the easiest one.
THE PROCESS MATTERS
Advancement is not only about the destination; the process also matters.
You must not become so focused on where you are going that you ignore what God is doing in you along the way.
The process can be a place of preparation, growth, learning, and development.
The process is part of the advancement.
YOU NEED LIGHT TO ADVANCE
Exodus 13:21 says that the Lord went before Israel by day in a pillar of cloud and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light.
This teaches us that anyone who will advance needs light.
You cannot properly advance in a direction you cannot see.
This is why Psalm 119:105 says:
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
The Word of God gives us light for the journey. It gives direction and helps us know the next step.
Without light, stagnation starts.
FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS
Another key to advancing effortlessly is following divine instructions.
The Israelites moved according to what God instructed them to do.
It is not enough to hear God's Word; you must do what He says.
You must train yourself to follow God's instructions, even when they do not immediately make sense to you.
Obedience is part of advancement.
WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU ARE AFRAID?
In Exodus 14:10, the Israelites saw Pharaoh approaching and became afraid.
This teaches us that fear itself is not necessarily the problem; what we do when we are afraid matters.
When faced with difficult circumstances, you must not allow fear to control your response.
The Israelites cried to God, but they also complained and became fearful.
If you are going to advance effortlessly, you must learn to pray without continuing in fear, complaining, or whining.
After praying, stand firm.
STAND FIRM ON GOD'S WORD
In Exodus 14:13, Moses told the people:
“Fear ye not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the LORD.”
When God has spoken, you must stand firm on what He has said.
You must not allow circumstances to make you doubt God's Word.
Only those that stand firm on God’s Word experiences His salvation from every work of the devil.
Sometimes God allows a difficult situation to reach a certain point so that His power and glory can be revealed.
Therefore, when the journey becomes difficult, do not run from the process. Do not allow fear to take over. Return to God's Word, trust His leading, and stand firm.
I see you ADVANCE EFFORTLESSLY this season, in Jesus’ name.
