Youth Ministry Day Special

Sunday Tonic - 12/06/2022

Theme - The Emergence of The Watchers

Topic - You Are A Watchman! Be Proactive!

Text - Isaiah 62:6-7

Introduction - Watchmen are those called to keep their eyes on to the activities around the environment. They are there to alert others to take action against negative occurrence. They are the saviours of the environment. They are not distracted by any other thing because they know that the fate of others lies in their hands. They know they are responsible for whatsoever happens around them. Therefore, they are focused on their Assignment. The Christian youth is a watchman. Where are the Watchmen?

From the passage read we see that the Lord assures us that he has set watchmen over us. They are to keep watching and not fainting. He commanded them not to be silent. They should continue to call on him until they get the desired result.

We can get from the passage that;

1. God cares about his work

2. He has set Watchmen to care for his work

3. He has given them their job description

4. He expects them to continue to watch until they see the results coming

5. They will be responsible for any out come

But today, the watchers have failed God. Where are the watchers? They are here but have become redundant. They have looked away from God and are pursuing mundane things.

The people of the world especially the youths have gone extremely far. They have launched themselves into;

1. Internet frauds of all kinds

2. Marriage for survival ( small boys and girls marrying very old people)

3. Digitalized prostitution in the highest order

4. Armed robbery, kidnapping and cultism

5. Drug abuse and addiction, r**e and so on.

God wants the Christian youth to be his watch over the fallen youths in order to bring them back to him. No wonder the Bible says in 1Timothy 4:12, "let no one despise your youth, but be an example of the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity."

Many have failed God. God is now looking for those who will stand the gap. Those who will be the real watchmen who will return men back to God. Looking at the following, 2 Kings 14:26, Isaiah 41:28, 59:16, the Lord says he sought out for a man and there was none.

Yes! You are the one that God is looking for. He has equiped you. Use all he has deposited in you to work for him. Where are the watchers. Equip yourself now. Stop cajoling yourself.

1. Go to school( not just any school) and study well with good grades.

2. Go for good courses (don"t go for courses just to be called a student)

3. Learn a trade! All may not go for white collar jobs.

4. Prepare for your marriage life (an undefiled marriage) by praying and watching.

5. Get busy with a justified job. You can also create a job.

6. Worship God like it is all you can do (read your Bible, pray without ceasing, attend fellowship, use your time and resources for God).

Let everyone rise to the need of the hour. God needs the watchers. Encourage all the potential watchers around you. Challenge the giant in them to take charge. The time is here now. All hands must be on deck.

The Lord is waiting for the watchers to take charge. He is waiting for you. Your generation is waiting for you. Arise and take charge. You will not fail in the mighty name of Jesus.

Topic: HIS PRESENCE MAKES A DIFFERENCE
Text - Exodus 33:14-17
Min:

Introduction - People, gatherings, families, nations, communities, institutions are all ordinary. What makes the difference is the presence of God. God's presence is the aura of his glory. When God's presence is felt the ordinary becomes extra ordinary. Psalm 139:7 declares that God is present every where and so we cannot hide from him. However, the aura of his presence works for good in our lives when there is that which focuses his presence on us- righteousness. When God decides to show his presence, the earth shakes (Psalm 68:8) and the hills melts like wax (Psalm 97:5). The Psalmist cried cast me not away from thy presence oh Lord (Psalm 51:11). Therefore we must tremble at his presence (Jeremiah 5:22).

The passage read is a part of the dialogue between God and Moses after the Israelites made a golden calf to represent God and worshipped it when Moses was on the mount Sinai for forty days and forty nights. When Moses came down he saw how the people have messed up themselves. Later God told him to continue the journey with the people that he will send his Angel with them. Moses pleaded with God not to leave them bare. This is because Moses understood what it means to have the presence of God in ones journey of life. He told God that they needed his presence because it is the presence of God that separates them from all other people. The presence of God makes a difference.

Moses insisted the presence of God goes with them because the presence of God;
1. Is Powerful
2. Brings joy
3. Exposes sin
4. Gives security
5. Gives deliverance
6. Gives assurance

Topic: The Stone Removal, Your Revelation
Text - John 20:1-10
By

Introduction - Christ ordinarily does not need to go to the grave but he had to fulfill all righteousness. He had to complete human sojourn here for all things to be. Therefore, as the stone was rolled to reveal the resurrection, so will the Lord make your expectations known to all in Jesus name.

From the passage read, Mary had gone to the tomb early in the morning to anoint Jesus body. Other gospels reveals that she had an obstacle; the stone. In John's gospel she went to the tomb and found the stone rolled and the tomb empty. She ran to tell his disciples. They also came and found it so. No one could unravel what actually happened. They were not yet connected to the event spiritually. They were confuse.

The above narrative is in the spiritual. The stone was placed;
1. In order to bury him as normal. He is dead and should be buried.
2. Inorder to stop him from resurrecting. They sealed it!
3. To stop his disciples from stealing the body and laying claim of resurrection. They set a watch. (Matthew 27:66).....

Message: May The Lord Show You Kindness
Text - 2 Samuel 9:1-13

INTRODUCTION - The kindness of God comes to us as a result of his mercy and grace. Mercy is one receiving less punishment when he deserves more while grace is one receiving the favour not deserved. When mercy and grace meet with goodness, kindness is produced. May the Lord show you kindness in the mighty name of Jesus.

From the passage above; David after he became king decided to show kindness to the house of Saul for Jonathan's sake. He wanted to reciprocate what Jonathan did for him. Saul's servant Ziba who was called tried to shield away David's mind away from the kind gesture by playing down on Mephibosheth. He told the king that Mephibosheth is a cripple so he may not be of importance. David still told him to go and bring him like that. And he showed kindness to him. He restored Saul's land to him, made him master over Ziba and made him a V.I.P. at the king's table......
