SUNDAY SERMON: 12th April 2026
TITLE : “SELL NOT YOUR BIRTHRIGHT”
PREACHER: David Onigbinde
Text: Genesis 25:29–34; Hebrews 12:16–17
INTRODUCTION:
Definitions:
In its original and cultural sense, a birthright refers to the privileges, responsibilities, and inheritance rights that belong to a person by virtue of birth—especially the firstborn son in ancient societies.
From a spiritual perspective, a birthright is the divine inheritance and privileges given to a believer by being born into God’s family trough Christ
The account of Esau presents a timeless warning. A man privileged with inheritance, yet careless with destiny. He exchanged eternal value for temporary satisfaction. This remains a danger to believers who fail to discern the weight of spiritual things.
________________________________________
1. SPIRITUAL SIGNIFICANCE OF BIRTHRIGHT
Bible References: Romans 8:17; 1 Peter 2:9; Ephesians 1:11; Colossians 1:12–13
Spiritual birthright is the divine inheritance granted through Jesus Christ. It is not earned, but received by grace, and it carries eternal implications:
• Sonship and Identity (Romans 8:17) – We are heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ.
• Royal Priesthood (1 Peter 2:9) – A chosen generation with divine purpose.
• Inheritance in Christ (Ephesians 1:11) – A predestined destiny rooted in God’s will.
• Kingdom Transfer (Colossians 1:12–13) – Delivered from darkness into light.
Your birthright defines who you are in God and what belongs to you in Him. It is a treasure beyond material estimation.
________________________________________
2. SUBTLE CAUSES OF SELLING BIRTHRIGHT
Bible References: Genesis 25:29–34; Hebrews 12:16; Galatians 5:16–17; 1 Corinthians 15:33
The downfall of Esau was rooted in carelessness and uncontrolled appetite. Likewise, believers today lose spiritual value through subtle compromises:
• Sensual Appetite (Genesis 25:29–34) – Fleshly desires overriding spiritual priorities.
• Profanity and Carelessness (Hebrews 12:16) – Treating sacred things as common.
• Conflict Between Flesh and Spirit (Galatians 5:16–17) – Yielding to the flesh.
• Corrupt Associations (1 Corinthians 15:33) – Evil company destroying good morals.
Spiritual decline often begins quietly—with small compromises that lead to significant loss.
________________________________________
3. STEADFAST CONSERVATION OF BIRTHRIGHT
Bible References: Proverbs 4:23; Jude 1:20–21; 2 Timothy 2:15; Hebrews 12:15
Preserving your birthright demands vigilance, discipline, and intentional living:
• Guard Your Heart (Proverbs 4:23) – Protect the seat of your spiritual life.
• Build Your Faith (Jude 1:20–21) – Praying and abiding in God’s love.
• Rightly Handle the Word (2 Timothy 2:15) – Staying grounded in truth.
• Watch Against Spiritual Loss (Hebrews 12:15) – Avoid bitterness and falling short of grace.
Preservation is not passive; it is a deliberate, daily commitment to spiritual excellence.
________________________________________
CONCLUSION
The tragedy of Esau is not merely historical—it is prophetic. It warns every believer against trivializing divine inheritance.
The world offers “pottage” in many forms—pleasure, wealth, compromise—but none compares to the eternal value of your birthright in Jesus Christ.
Guard it. Value it. Never sell it.

Call now to connect with business.

Sermon: The Christian Spiritual Birthrights

22/03/2026

SUNDAY SERMON
Date: 22nd March, 2026
TOPIC: THE KINGDOM OF GOD
Preacher: David O. Onigbinde
Texts: Mark 1:14,15
Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,
And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

Matthew 6:33 :"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."
________________________________________
INTRODUCTION
The Kingdom of God is the central theme of Christ’s ministry. It represents God’s sovereign rule, not confined to geography but expressed in the hearts and lives of men.
The Kingdom of God is not merely a distant hope; it is a present reality that transforms lives. It is a realm where God reigns supreme in the hearts of His people
SUB-TOPICS
1. THE PROCLAMATION AND PRINCIPLE OF THE KINGDOM
Matthew 4:17: From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
"Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."
• It is a call to father-son relationship with the Almighty God.
• A call into the family of God
• A call into a life under the sovereignty or supreme reign of God Almighty
• Membership of this kingdom is through genuine repentance, with transformed life or New Birth
• John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
• It is presently accessible, not distant.
Revelation 3:20 :Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
You can become a member of God’s kingdom today.

________________________________________
2. THE PRIORITY AND PRACTICEOF THE KINGDOM OF GOD . Romans 14:17; Mark 8:36-37)
(Romans 14:17)
"For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost."
• Kingdom living requires correct prioritization. Earthly wealth, social status, and material success are temporary; the soul’s eternal welfare must be your first concern.
• Mark 8:36-37 :For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? .Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
The rich young ruler in Matthew 19:16-22 struggled because his material possessions overshadowed eternal priorities.
• Application: Evaluate what dominates your heart. Pursue righteousness, peace, and joy in the Spirit above all else.
• In involve living a life separate from the world ,
2 Corinthians 6:14 -18: Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
 You cannot be a member of the kingdom of God and still be a member of the kingdom of darkness.

"For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost."
The emphasis, priority of the kingdom of God is ;
o Living a life of righteousness or maintaining a right standing with God. You don’t want anything to come between your relationship with God
o Peace : living a peace with all men, as much as it is possible.
• Hebrews 12:14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
• Romans_12:18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
 Live as a true Kingdom citizen through godly character.

Matthew 19:27 – “We have left everything to follow you. What then will there be for us?”
• The Kingdom life is a life of sacrifice and commitment.
• Matthew 19:27-29: Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore?
And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.
 Being a member of God’s kingdom can create hatred or enmity between you and your earthly family members.
Luke 14:26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
 A times, it could leas to denial of your legitimate rights.
 Another major priority of the kingdom is spreading the gospel of kingdom. This is a MUST duty for every member of the kingdom of God
Luke_9:2 And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.
Luke_9:60 Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God
 ________________________________________

3. THE POSSESIVE POWER OF THE KINGDOM OF GOD
(Matthew 11:12)
"And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force."
Possession of both present Kingdom of God or future, eternal kingdom requires spiritual violence.
• The devil will fight, do all he could, to keep you in bo***ge in his kingdom.
• The devil will try to prevent you from living a righteous life, and so will flood you with various temptations.
You require various dimensions of power and need to exercise authority or power ;
• over sins and self (Romans 6:14)
• Over Spirits and Satan in kingdom of darkness (Luke 10:19)
• Power to prevail spiritually (Matthew 11:12)
 Victory is assured in all battles of life while remaining in God’s kingdom’
• 2 Corithians_2:14 Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.
• 1 Corinthians_15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

• Psalms144:1 A Psalm of David. Blessed be the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight

You can only get these power by;
• Be spiritually intentional, not casual
• Engage in fervent prayer and steadfast faith
• Pursue the Kingdom with holy determination

CONCLUSION & FINAL CHARGE
• The Kingdom of God is right here now; are you a member of the kingdom of God? Have you repented of all your sins, and turned to God? God wants to start a profitable relationship with you. He wants to reign in your heart and life.
• If you were once a member of God’s kingdom, but have backslidden, you can return to God today.
• As believer, if you are going to remain in God’s kingdom, and inherit the eternal kingdom of God, you need to daily draw spiritual strength from God. You need daily enablement of the Holy Spirit.
CLOSING PRAYER
May God grant you the grace to pursue His Kingdom with passion,
To live by its principles,
And to manifest its power daily,
In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

SUNDAY SERMON: 15th February 202
TITLE: FEAR OF GOD AND ITS COSTS
PREACHER: DAVID ONIGBINDE
Text: Proverbs 1:7; Matthew 10:28; Daniel 3:16–18; Hebrews 11:24–26
________________________________________
Introduction
• Proverb 1:7 : The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
• Proverb 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
• Proverb_3:7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
• Genesis_39:9 There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?
• Ecclessiastics_12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
• The Fear of God will make you depart from sin, and obey God or keep God’s commandment.
• However, obey God, keeping God’s commands or practising biblical doctrine often come with Costs, which impact negatively on the believers’ progress in life, and sometimes attract serious sufferings and denial of legitimate rights
________________________________________
1. THE CONCEPT OF THE FEAR OF GOD
The fear of God is a profound reverence that places God’s will above personal comfort, societal approval, and even self-preservation. Jesus Himself framed it clearly: “Do not fear those who kill the body… but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell” (Matthew 10:28). To fear God, therefore, is to accept that obedience to Him may provoke hostility from men. In my opinion, this is where many believers draw back, preferring safety over sanctity.

________________________________________
2. THE COSTS OF THE FEAR OF GOD
John_16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world
Acts_14:22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

2Timothy : 3:12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution
Those who fear God often suffer alienation. A God-fearing Christian may be labelled extreme, outdated, or intolerant. This social cost is real and painful, yet it is the price of standing apart in a morally collapsing world.
In contemporary terms, fearing God may cost promotions, contracts, or lucrative opportunities that demand ethical compromise.
In some contexts, fearing God exposes believers to harassment, intimidation, or violence. Christianity has never been a convenience-driven faith; it is a cross-bearing calling.

Example of Fear who paid prices for Fearing God

1 Noah: Build an Ark as requested by GOD, to escape God’s judgement through Flod , suffered alienation and Ridicule by his people Genesis 6. Hebrews 11:7
2 Joseph, refused to commit adultery with Potiphar (his master)’s wife, suffered Imprisonment Genesis 39: 1-23
3 The 3 Hebrew Children; Hananiah(Shadrach), Mishael(Meshach), and Azariah(Abednego.) , refused to bow to Nebuchadnezzar’s Idol. They were thrown into fiery burning Furnace(your own furnace may be a burning situation of penury-like someone pledge and tried to deal ruthlessly with me). E.g. delay xmas bonus, irrational deduction from my salary. Yet God has been very faithful. Daniel 3:1-30
4 Daniel Observed his regular prayer time, was thrown into Lion’s den Daniel 6: 1-28
5 Moses refused worldly pleasures of Egypt, Suffered afflictions Hebrews 11:24–26
6 The 12 Disciples of Christ, refused to stop preaching the Gospel of Christ
7 Paul the Apostle; Living God-fearing life Romans 8:35-36. 2 Corinthians 11: 23 -28

________________________________________
PRACTICAL EXAMPLE: Life experiences of people who suffered or were denied of their rights because of their faith

3. THE CONSOLATION FOR THOSE WHO FEAR GOD
“The fear of the LORD leads to life” (Proverbs 19:23).
In the long run, the fearing God above men always pay. God always came to the aid of those who fear Him.
• Noah and his family were saved from the flood
• The Saviour associated with the 3 Hebrew children in the furnace, and no harm was done for them
Isaiah 43:2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
• Daniel came out unhurt from the lions’ den
Those who suffer for righteousness gain divine approval, inner peace, and eternal reward. In my opinion, the greatest tragedy is not suffering for fearing God, but enjoying temporary comfort while forfeiting eternal glory.

 Your main prayer is that God should give you grace required to pay the price of fearing GOD
 ________________________________________
Conclusion
The fear of God will cost a Christian reputation, comfort, and sometimes freedom, but it will never cost salvation or divine favour. On the contrary, it secures them. As Jesus declared, “Whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.
A faith that fears God without suffering has not yet been fully tested. May God raise believers who fear Him enough to pay the price, endure the pain, and inherit the promise.
Amen.

GOD’S END-TIME ARMY REVIVAL (GEAR) OGUN STATE, NIGERIA
NEW YEAR EVE SERMON
Date: Wednesday 31st December,2025
Message Title: Repack your Load
Preacher: David O. Onigbinde
Text : Hebrews 12:1. Matthew 11:28–30. Isaiah 43:18–19. Philippians 3:13–14

Introduction
As we stand at the threshold of a new calendar year, I hold the firm conviction that divine progress is not merely a function of time but of discernment. Many believers cross into a new year with the same spiritual, emotional, relational, and psychological burdens they carried for years. The result is stagnation in motion—movement without advancement. Hence, the clarion call of God on this New Year Eve is simple yet profound: Repack your load.
Repacking implies evaluation, separation, prioritization, and intentional realignment. It is not everything you carried last year that is permitted into the next. Some loads were seasonal; others were self-inflicted; a few were divinely assigned—but many are unnecessary weights.
________________________________________
Concept of Repacking of load
Cross-examination of packed load
Crossing over with repacked load

1. Concept of Repacking of Load
A load represents responsibilities, commitments, relationships, habits, mindsets, expectations, sins, disappointments, and even past victories. Hebrews 12:1 admonishes us to “lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily besets us.” My considered opinion is that many believers confuse destiny loads with distracting weights. God never intended you to be burdened by what He did not authorize.
________________________________________
2. Why Repacking Is Necessary
Repacking is necessary because:
• Every new season demands new capacity.
• Yesterday’s strategy may frustrate today’s assignment.
• Expired burdens sabotage fresh grace.
Isaiah 43:18–19 commands us not to remember former things—not because God is ungrateful, but because fixation on the past can blind us to new divine initiatives.
________________________________________
3. What Must Be Dropped
Director, P.M&E, permit me to state clearly:
• Drop unforgiveness—it is emotional excess luggage.
• Drop fear and self-doubt—they are fragile containers for destiny.
• Drop toxic relationships that drain virtue without impartation.
• Drop unrepented sin—it overloads the conscience and arrests prayer.
My firm stance is that no one rises carrying what God has commanded them to release.
________________________________________
4. What Must Be Repacked
Not all loads are evil. Some must be rearranged, not discarded:
• Repack vision with clearer focus.
• Repack faith with deeper conviction.
• Repack prayer life with consistency.
• Repack purpose with discipline and accountability.
Philippians 3:13–14 teaches holy forgetfulness and intentional pursuit. Progress is selective memory plus focused action.
________________________________________
5. Divine Exchange of Loads
Matthew 11:28–30 reveals God’s gracious offer: “Come unto Me…and I will give you rest.” Christ does not call us to loadlessness, but to lighter, purposeful, and grace-backed loads. My opinion remains that rest is not the absence of work but the presence of divine alignment.
________________________________________
Conclusion and Prophetic Charge
As this year expires, I strongly admonish every believer: Do not cross over with unexamined baggage. Repack your load through prayer, repentance, forgiveness, strategic planning, and renewed obedience. Enter the new year lighter, wiser, and better aligned.
________________________________________
Closing Prayer
“Lord, as we step into a new year, grant us discernment to drop every unauthorized burden, wisdom to rearrange our priorities, and grace to carry only what You have ordained. We receive strength for the journey ahead, clarity for destiny, and rest for our souls, in Jesus’ mighty Name. Amen.”

GOD’S END-TIME ARMY REVIVAL (GEAR) OGUN STATE, NIGERIA
SUNDAY SERMON TITLE: THE NEED FOR ANOTHER ELIJAH
DATE: 14th September, 2025
PREACHER : David O. Onigbinde
Text: James 5:17-18 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.
Message Focus: This message focuses of the spiritual life of prayer of Elijah, and exploit done through prayers
Goal: The goal of the message is to raise holy men and women of prayer who will do spiritual exploits for Christ.

INTRODUCTION
Elijah was a man of God who demonstrated intimate relationship and power with God, and its effects with great exploits that resonate from generation to generations and poses spiritual challenges to Christians and men of God of all ages till today. The cry in every generation is found in the song ‘’ LORD send another Elijah to Pray thy Power down, Send the fire, also send the Rain,…”
1. SPIRITUAL ATTRIBUTES IN ELIJAH.
Elijah exhibited certain salient godly virtues which made God to use him to do great exploits. However, emphasis is always on the prayerful life, whereas there are latent virtues in Elijah’s life that made his prayers potent.
i. Intimate Relationship with God: Elijah’s intimacy with God was reflected in the use of words like ‘’ before whom(God) I stand’’ , ‘’the word of the LORD came to Elijah ‘’, and ‘’ ..i am thy servant’’ 1Kings 17:1,8,21,22,. 18:1,15,36.
ii. Implicit obedience to God’s Voice and Instructions: 1Kings 17:3,5,9,10. 18:1,2. 19:15,16,19
iii. Scriptural Boldness: Elijah demonstrated scriptural boldness and sterness against evil acts and men. 1 Kings 18:17,18. 2 Kings 1:16,17. 21:20,21.This is unlike many Christian leaders of our days who cannot rebuke evil publicly, whose mouth have been gaged by love for money and positions in the church.
iv. Spiritual steadfastness and Separation. 1 Kings 18:22. 19:10,14,18.
Although there also 7,000 and 100 prophets known Israelis who also took their stand for God, only Elijah who publicly declared his stand for God.
Are there not many who profess Christianity in church, who deny the faith by their hypocritical lives in government offices, Market places, schools, e.t.c. Many falsify official records, collect bribes, etc. and yet still claim to be for God.
v. Prayerful life: Elijah was a man who believed in prayer and gave himself to it. 1 Kings 17:19-22.- raised a widow’s son from death through prayer
1 Kings18: 30-36- prayed down fire.
1 Kings 18: 42-46- prayed down rain-control weather.
vi. A man indwelt by God: Elijah spoke and acted like God, because he was completely indwelt by God. This is shown in his words, such as ‘’ there shall be no dew, nor rain, but according to my word’’. This implies that an word from my word is directly from God. Elijah also told Elisah, ‘’ Ask me what I shall give you’’, meaning; ask me anything, and I will give you, instead of saying ask God anything…… The use of the words or sentences by Elijah shows that God was apparently dwelling in Elijah.

2. SUPERLATIVE ACTS BY ELIJAH
i. Controlled weather, – proclaimed draught and raining periods, thereby controlled the economy of Samaria.1 King 17: 1. 18: 41-45.
ii. Multiplied Food; Elijah helps a widow by miraculously multiplying her flour and oil, ensuring she has enough to sustain herself and her son during the famine.1 Kings 17:8-16
iii. Raise the Dead: Elijah prays to God, and a widow’s son was raised from the dead.1 Kings 17:17-24
iv. Prayed down Fire from Heaven: Elijah confronts the prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel to demonstrate God’s power, calling down fire from heaven, which consumed both sacrifice and water. 1Kings 18:20-40.
He also prayed down fire and consumed 100 armies with 2 captains of Ahaziah the king that were sent to catch Elijah because he prophesied that he will die in his sickness for seeking healing from Baalzebub the god of Ekron and not God. 2 Kings 1: 1-14.
v. Outpaced Ahab's Chariot: Elijah runs ahead of Ahab's chariot to the city of Jezreel, demonstrating God’s power.1 Kings 18:46
vi. Parted River Jordan River: by striking it with his cloak, crossing on dry ground.: 2 Kings 2:8.
vii. Impacted Double of God’ Spirit that was upon him unto Elisha; By this Elijah gave more than what he had, which is not possible in real life. He demonstrated that he has control over heavenly depot and warehouse and takes decision along with the Triune God on what to be released on earth. 2 Kings 2: 9,10. Even Moses only gave out of God’s Spirit within him to elders of Israel. Numbers 11:16-17.

3. SEARCH FOR ANOTHER ELIJAH.
Ezekiel_22:30 And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none
God is looking for another Elijah in our generation, a man who could be indwell by God due to intimate relationship with the Trinity. Another Elijah in our generation who will maintain stern and bold stand against evil and wicked men of our generations. Another Elijah who will be distinct and separate from all false prophets of our days, Definitely we need another Elijah due to;
• Prevalence of idolatry and occultism in our land today
• Dearth of power and fire of the Holy Spirit in the assembly of God’s people today
• Rule and dominance of wicked leaders like Ahab in our societies, communities, States and Nation.
• The Economic quagmire of the nation
• The need for restoration of backslidden spiritual Israelis and Prophets/pastors of our days.
God is looking for another Elijah today, someone who will consecrate and totally give himself to God and prayers for Him to indwell and do spiritual exploits through such person.
Will you be another Elijah? If this is your desire, then;
• You need to start or maintain an intimate relationship with God.
• You need to be committed to living a life that is distinct from that of an average Christian
• You need to be steadfast in your walk with God.
• You need to be given to a life of prayer; be a prayer juggernaut .
• Be indwell by God.
Talk to the LORD about your life.
SONG:
1. Long ago, in days of old, Stood a man of God, we're told,
As he talked to Elijah that day;
His request he did repeat, Standing at Elijah's feet,
"A double portion," I can hear him say.

Chorus: Give me, Lord, a double portion, Pour Thy Spirit on me,
Through eyes of faith Thy wondrous works I can see;
But I need Thy helping hand, In this troubled, sinful land,
Give me, Lord, a double portion, from Thee.

2. As Elijah stood that day, To Elisha, he did say,
"Ask me what I shall do unto thee."
And Elisha then replied, Walking at Elijah's side,
"A double portion, let it fall on me!"
3. Lord, I always to Thee pray,
just for strength from day to day
But I see there’s so much to be done,
That I have to kneel a new
and this favour ask of you,
A double portion this fight must be won.

PRAYER POINT: LORD Make me another Elijah

GOD’S END-TIME ARMY REVIVAL (GEAR) OGUN STATE, NIGERIA
SUNDAY SERMON TITLE: ADD VIRTUE TO YOUR FAITH
DATE: Sunday,10th August, 2025
PREACHER : David O. Onigbinde
Text: 2 Peter 1: 5,9
And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge.
But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins
Message Focus: The focu/s of the message is to preach on essential Christian virtues
Goal: The goal of the message is to draw attentions of believers to the importance of exhibiting and promoting appreciable Christian virtues as vital to the Christian faith.

INTRODUCTION
The importance of Christian virtues to the Christian faith cannot be overemphasized, as they serve to confirm our relationship and identity with Christ. John 13: 34,35. Acts 11:26. Our faith in Christ is not endorsed by religious activities and professions or confession, but the christ-like virtues we display, especially in our interaction with people.
This sermon will be considered under two(2) sub-headings;
A. SALIENT LUCID CHRISTIAN VIRTUES
B. SUPREMACY OF LOVE AS CHRISTIAN VIRTUE

A. SALIENT AND LUCID CHRISTIAN VIRTUES
What are Christian virtues?
 Virtues are qualities or dispositions of character that reflect the nature of God and are cultivated in believers through the work of the Holy Spirit.
Proverbs 31: 10 – 20.
The following are important Christian virtues, as exemplified in a virtuous woman;
1. V11 : Trustworthiness-Reliability, dependableness – Ability to keep any material or matter entrusted to him/her
• Good maintenance Culture- Not being wasteful materially or financially.
2. V12 : Goodness
3. V13 : Hardworking, diligent – A virtuous Christian seeks where and how to generate revenue. He has willingness to work, not lazy.
A virtuous Christian does not sedentarily wish and pray for prosperity, but seeks for revenue-generating business.
• Learn and engage in Trade that will bring revenue. This is the reason for inclusion trade subjects in education curriculum.
4. V14 : Sacrifice and perseverance to get desired satisfaction. Sometimes, to get desired knowledge or funds may involve traveling long distances ( Give practical life examples)
5. V20 : Generosity/Kindness - Sharing your God-given resources with the needy neighbor.
6. Fear of God – The fear of God makes you eschew sins . Proverbs 8:13. Job 1:1,8. Act 10: 2.
7. Good reputation : Having good reports from both Christian and non- Christian communities. Acts 6:3; 10:22; 16:22. If many people, especially Christians have bad reports about you, then you need to examine yourself to see if you are still on the track of Christian faith.

B. SUPREMACY OF LOVE AS CHRISTIAN VIRTUE
Love is central and supreme among all Christian virtues, and is expressed in Greek term as ‘Agape’.
key reasons for this include:
1. Biblical Commandment –
Jesus Himself declared love to be the greatest commandment:
“Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind… And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.” (Matthew 22:37–39).
This shows that love is the foundation upon which all other virtues and commandments rest.
2. Essence of God’s Nature –
The Apostle John writes, “God is love” (1 John 4:8). If love is intrinsic to God’s very nature, then for a Christian, to love is to reflect the very character of God.
3. Fulfilment of the Law –
Romans 13:10 says: “Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore, love is the fulfilling of the law.” Without love, external obedience becomes hollow; with love, obedience becomes natural.
4. Highest of the Christian Triad –
Paul, in 1 Corinthians 13:13, speaks of the three enduring virtues—faith, hope, and love—and concludes: “But the greatest of these is love.” This crowns love as the highest Christian virtue.
5. Measure of True Discipleship –
Jesus gave love as the distinguishing mark of His followers:
“By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” (John 13:35)
