TOPIC: GUIDELINES FOR THE SUCCESS Of WOMEN IN MARRIAGE

TEXT: 1 PETER 3:1-6

KEY VERSE: GENESIS 2:18 “And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone. I will make him an help meet for him”.

The scripture and revelation of God from creation till date depict clearly that God created the woman to assist the man. God saw that the man was lonely after he was created, and God said it is not good for the man to be alone, and decided to make for him a help meet.

Scriptural guides for success of women in marriage:
The holy women of old-time pattern: The scripture says for after this manner in the old time, the holy women also who trusted in God adorned themselves being in subjection unto their own husbands. Even in adornment, women are in subjection to their husbands.

There was sobriety. The women dressed in seductive dresses in the society today have deviated from the old patterns.

The Sarah’s kind of obedience: The scripture says even as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him Lord, whose daughters the Christian women are. This shows that Sarah was submissive to Abraham, her husband. It's wrong for a woman to behave as if she is the head in the family or even in the church.

Giving unto God by a woman: A married woman’s vow unto God can subsists or be voided by her husband. The vow was not to any person, but to God and God accepted it; but God said that vow cannot stand until her husband allows it.

Thought for the day: Women’s submission to the men is scriptural, don’t argue it.

Song for the day: My wife shall be a blessing, my children around the table, I..

TOPIC: SAMUEL’S EXEMPLARY LIFE OF PURITY

TEXT: 1 Samuel 1: 12-20

Key verse: Matthew 12: 13b. For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh

Hannah was barren because the Lord shut up her womb and her adversaries will not let her rest by constantly provoking her. She went up to the Lord in prayers to seek for God’s intervention for a child and the Lord answered her. Many will fall prey of the devil by going to seek children from him because of delay in child-bearing and because of mockery. Some delays may be because God wants it so for Divine purpose. We saw it in the case of Elizabeth the wife of Zachariah, whose child bearing was delayed by God to usher in the forerunner of Christ. Abraham’s wife, Sarah, also experienced delay to actualize the promise of God with Abraham to make him father of nations through Isaac. The case of Hannah was not different as the Lord was in full knowledge to bring in a prophet that He will use in Israel. Let us be patient anytime we experience delays in our lives and answer to prayers.

Samuel was lent to the Lord as promised by his mother, Hannah, and he lived with Eli and his two children. Samuel showed exemplary character as a true child of God that loves purity because he refused to be defiled by the sinful life style of Hophni and Phinehas. The Bible called them the sons of Belial; they knew not the Lord. There were negative reports that kept coming to their father but they refused to change their ways. The Bible makes us understand that the child Samuel grew on, and was in favour both with the Lord, and also with men. This shows that it is possible to live in the environment of sinners and yet be pure and holy.
Samuel lived a life of humility as he ministered unto the Lord before Eli. Eli was guiding him to minister the precious Word of the Lord. Three times he had the call of his name, yet without grumbling he kept coming to ask his master, Eli, whether he called him. God tested his patience and he passed.

Thought for the day: When He calls me I will answer Him

Song for the day: There is none holy as thy Lord……..

TOPIC: DISCIPLINE YOUR CHILDREN

TEXT: PROVERBS 13:24
He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.

KEY VERSE: PROVERBS 19:18 Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying.

God wants you to discipline your children in a godly way. Our today’s text is saying you should apply discipline on your child quite early in life. Do not be so merciful and compassionate that you cannot use cane to beat your child.

Your child is not too young to receive the cane; God who created the child says “I have put miracle power in the cane as I put miracle power in the rod of Moses. It will change your child.” Do not toy with the cane.

Do not joke or take discipline with the caned casually. Buy a cane and keep it in the house and let your child know about it. Tell your child to touch it, tell him “it is waiting for you, “that child will be conscious of that cane.

The word of God says that in beating the child you are demonstrating practical love for him, Christian parents must discipline their children in a godly way. Your motive must be pure.

There must be no partiality between one child and the other. The cause of the chastisement must be clear to the child, so that he does not see it as hatred and oppression.

Discipline the child while there is hope. Proverbs 19:18 “chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying”. There is a time when there will be no more hope; there is a time when there is nothing you can do to that child anymore.

There is a time you will take the cane and he will despise it. Use the cane while the child is still afraid of it not when he will despise it.
Proverbs 22:15 “Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him”

Thought for the day: Discipline your child early in life.

Sorry for the day: Come to Jesus, right now....
