The Birth of Lust
Lust was not born in Eden — it was conceived in the fall.
Before sin, desire was directed — man desired only what was good, right, and godly. After sin, desire became distorted — craving pleasure without purpose, intimacy without covenant, and freedom without boundaries.
> “When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise…” — Genesis 3:6
That verse marks the first time desire turned inward. The same principle that governs s*xual temptation began there — pleasure apart from purpose. Lust is not merely s*xual craving; it is the misdirection of divine desire.
Eve’s eyes were opened, but her vision was corrupted. She saw beauty through rebellion, not revelation. What was once holy appetite became unholy hunger.
This is how all perversion begins — when what God made good is sought outside His will.
