How to Observe the Shabbat
The SHABBAT is a sacred day ordained by YAHUAH, a time set apart for rest, worship, and reflection. Observing it properly honours YAHUAH and aligns us with His commandments.
1. Preparation on the 6th Day (Prep-Day):
The sixth day, also called the Preparation Day, is for completing all necessary work before sundown. This includes cooking meals, cleaning the house, and finishing any tasks that can not be done on Shabbat. According to the biblical calendar, a new day begins at 6:00 pm, so all preparations should be completed before then (Genesis 1:31-2:2, Exodus 16:23-26).
2. Observing the Shabbat:
Once Shabbat begins at sundown, no form of work should be done. This includes:
Buying or selling
Engaging in business discussions
Lighting fires or cooking (Exodus 20:8-11, 31:15-17)
Eat the meals you prepared on the sixth day, and refrain from any work. Shabbat is a day of complete rest, a time to draw near to YAHUAH and enjoy His presence.
3. Spiritual Focus:
Use the Shabbat to read the Scriptures, Meditate on YAHUAH’s Word, and His commands and fellowship with us together (Psalm 119:105)
Praise and Worship: Sing, rejoice, and honour YAHUAH with your heart (Psalm 92:1-2)
Reflect and Rest: Rest not just physically but spiritually, letting go of stress and worldly concerns,TV social media expect you want to do YAHUAH things. (Exodus 31:17)
Acts of Kindness : Help family, fellow believers, or those in need (Isaiah 58:13-14)
Shabbat is not only a physical rest but also a time to reconnect with family, loved ones, and the community of believers in the presence of YAHUAH. Observing it faithfully brings blessing, peace, and spiritual renewal (Isaiah 56:2-7).
Remember: Shabbat is a covenant sign between YAHUAH and His people, Yashar’el (Exodus 31:13), a holy day to delight in Him and reflect on His goodness.
