Topic: The gift of a pastor
Text: Jeremiah 3:15; 2 Chronicles 20:20
“And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.” — Jeremiah 3:15
God is the giver of your pastor. A pastor is not just someone placed over you in church; he is a gift from God for the now and the future of your destiny.
One of the reasons some people do not rise is not because they are incapable of rising, but because they have looked down on the pastor God sent to help them.
Another major problem is having too many voices speaking into your life. When you listen to everyone, your destiny can become confused. You need the right voice to guide you into God's purpose for your life.
1. YOUR PASTOR IS A GIFT FROM GOD
Your pastor is God's provision for your spiritual growth, direction and destiny. Do not treat the person God has sent to you as ordinary.Jeremiah 3:15 — “I will give you pastors according to mine heart.”
2. BELIEVE AND TRUST THE VOICE GOD HAS GIVEN YOU
Your connection to the voice God has placed over your life can determine your establishment and progress.
2 Chronicles 20:20 — “Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.”
3. YOUR PASTOR IS FOR YOUR NOW AND YOUR FUTUR
A pastor is not merely a friend. He is like a captain who helps steer you toward your God-ordained destiny.John 14:1 — “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.”
4. AVOID BEING TOO FAMILIAR WITH THE ANOINTING
Familiarity can make you stop receiving from what God has placed around you.
When you begin to see your pastor only as an ordinary person, you may lose the value of the grace and wisdom God has placed upon his life.
5. RECOGNIZE, RESPECT AND RECEIVE YOUR PASTOR
The Shunammite woman first recognized the grace upon Elisha before she could receive from it.
Your perception of your pastor matters.
