TOPIC: FLEE FROM IDOLATRY
TEXT: 1 Corinthians 9:24-27; 10:1-30; 11:1
MEMORY VERSE: "My dearly beloved, flee from idolatry" 1 Corinthians 10:14.
CENTRAL TRUTH: As Christians, we must be faithful to Christ.
INTRODUCTION
The term "idolatry" prompts images of graven statutes receiving worship from deceived individuals. However, Paul presented a warning against idolatry that applies just as strongly to us as it did to those who lived in the idolatrous societies of the first century. In that warning, the apostle reminded us to stay true to Christ.
1. RECOGNIZE THE DANGER OF TEMPTATION - 1 CORINTHIANS 9:24-27

2. ABSTAIN FROM IDOLATRY - 1 CORINTHIANS 10:14-17

3. BE A POSITIVE INFLUENCE - 1 CORINTHIANS 10:23-28

CONCLUSION
Personal reflection is a critical part of putting a lesson such as this into practice. We need to examine ourselves first of all. While you would almost certainly not be drawn to worship an idol, there is a real danger that something in this world could begin to receive the attention or even adoration that only God deserves
