KILLER MIDWIVES

“15. And the king of Egypt spake to the Hebrew midwives, of which the name of the one was Shiphrah, and the name of the other Puah: 16. And he said, When ye do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women, and see them upon the stools; if it be a son, then ye shall kill him: but if it be a daughter, then she shall live.” (Exodus 1: 15-16)

That is Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

In our Focal Scripture, Pharaoh reached out to Hebrew midwives, and asked them to kill the sons of the Hebrew women. The Hebrew women seemed to patronize Hebrew midwives. The Hebrew midwives refused to kill the Hebrew male children. Now, pause for a moment and imagine that the Hebrew women actually went to Egyptian midwives. Just maybe, Pharaoh would have achieved his goal of wiping their sons out.

Friend, there are midwives that are killers. There are midwives that endanger your ‘unborn child’. There are midwives that are poised to kill your dreams; there are midwives that are poised to kill your vision; there are midwives that are sent by the enemy to kill the works of your hands; there are midwives positioned by the enemy to ensure that your efforts come to nothing; there are midwives that are essentially killer midwives.

I pray for you: your will not fall into the hand of killer midwives. You will not be a victim of midwives that will destroy your seed. You will not hire midwives that will bring your harvest down to rubbles. You will not fall into the hands of midwives that will kill your influence. You will not fall into the hands of midwives that will take advantage of your vulnerability. You will not fall into the hands of those who will kill your greatness.

What the Lord is doing in your life will not be swallowed. What the Lord has planted in the lives of your children will not be diluted by the power of the enemy. May the Lord keep you away from those whose mission is to take your life down the drains. May the Lord keep you away from those whose intention is to help fulfill the mission of the enemy in your life. May the Lord keep you away from those who are there to kill what you have.

It will never be said that you fell into the hands of those who want to help the devil to make a mess of your seed. You will not end up in the hands of killer midwives.

Isaiah 31: 3 says: “Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit. When the LORD shall stretch out his hand, both he that helpeth shall fall, and he that is holpen shall fall down, and they all shall fail together.”

Declare With Me: I will not fall into the hands of killer midwives, in Jesus’ name!

FIND YOUR TRIBE

“15. And the king of Egypt spake to the Hebrew midwives, of which the name of the one was Shiphrah, and the name of the other Puah: 16. That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

In our Focal Scripture, Pharaoh reached out to the Hebrew midwives, and requested that they do him a favour of killing the children of the Hebrew women. He sought to exploit their role as midwives of the Hebrew women. So, the Hebrew women went to Hebrew midwives. They may have had the option of Egyptian midwives, but they chose Hebrew midwives. They chose midwives from their tribe.

Friend, in your journey through destiny, find your tribe. Find those who belong to your tribe in Christ. Find those who believe in what you believe in. Find those who love God as you do. Find those who reverence God the way you do. Find those who believe in the principle of consecration, dedication, focus, commitment, etc. Find those who are also seeking to please God like you. Find those who are seeking the same God you seek.

Not everyone can deliver your 'child'. Not everyone can handle being around what God has put on your life. Not everyone can midwife your potentials and potentialities. Not everyone will come close to you without damaging you. Not everyone believes in a walk with God, and you might endanger your walk with God if you allow them to come close to you. Not every 'tribe' is safe for you.

Your tribe does not begin and end with where you were born. There is such a thing as your tribe in Christ. There is such a thing as a tribe of the decent, intentional, committed, efficient, diligent, consecrated, etc. Don’t be in a hurry to say you are of the tribe of Christ, yet your closest company is the tribe of sin and unrighteousness. Don’t mix your greatness with a tribe that will damage it. Don’t expose your greatness to the wrong tribe.

If God has committed greatness into your hands, then be wise to know the tribe that deserves to come close to it. Find your tribe. Find the tribe that protects your ‘seed’.

Proverbs 13: 20 says: “He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.”

Tonight we were reminded that God never sends a man without empowering him for the assignment ahead.
The moment you identify with God, it marks a new beginning.
Alignment with God introduces a man into a new season and a higher purpose.
When God sends a man, it is equivalent to the beginning of a new season.
A season of responsibility, obedience, and divine impact.

As a sent man, you must first arise and then go over,
because there is an answer waiting on the other side of obedience.

Nobody sends a man to sit down.
A sent man is called to move, advance, and fulfill divine purpose.

How you see a problem determines how you respond to it.
While others see obstacles, a sent man sees opportunities for God to reveal His power.
And above all, a sent man must answer only to the One who sent him.
Only God’s opinion of him matters more than the opinions and dictates of men.

BE RELEVANT

“And the king of Egypt spake to the Hebrew midwives, of which the name of the one was Shiphrah, and the name of the other Puah:” (Exodus 1: 15)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

Our Focal Scripture speaks of that moment when Pharaoh reached out to the Hebrew midwives. This was a period when Israel was still in bo***ge in Egypt. Some Hebrew midwives were outstanding to the point of gaining the king’s attention. They had so much capacity that the king sought them out. They were so good that the king needed to negotiate with them in order to achieve his goal. They gained the attention of the king.

Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: kings are coming to your rising. Kings are coming to the brightness that God has planted in you. Your capacity will attract the attention of kings. You will be relevant to kings and nobles. You have the oil that causes thrones and crowns to bow. You have the oil that causes thrones and crowns to come calling. You are the one your generation is counting on. You are the one the kings are looking for.

How could a king like Pharaoh be so interested in the Hebrew midwives that took delivery of Hebrew children? What manner of midwives were they that the king would negotiate with them? Be so good in your craft that kings will come naturally to seek for you. Be so competent that kings will need you. Be so useful that you cannot be ignored. Be so empowered that men who matter will gravitate towards you.

You do the kingdom of God no favours when you play below the standards. You do the kingdom of God no favours when you play as a mediocre. You are not ready for relevance if you are still on the same level as those who are still insignificant. You are not ready for the big release if you are playing on a level where everyone is playing. Distinction comes when you leave mediocrity and choose excellence. Distinction lies in excellence.

I pray for you: kings are coming to your rising; but when they come, make sure you have capacity to keep them.

Proverbs 12: 24 says: “The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.”
