Sometimes, the greatest moments in your life don’t announce themselves beforehand

You simply decide to go.

You attend that meeting
You listen to that message
You join that prayer
You lift your hands during worship

And then, something happens

A burden becomes lighter
A heart begins to heal
Faith comes alive again
A direction becomes clearer

As we prepare for the NWIC 2026, here are key points we learnt from service today

1. Don’t be familiar with the Word of God (Let the Word of God bless you every time)
2. Don’t get familiar with prayers.
3. Don’t get familiar with the gathering of the saints
4. Don’t get familiar with your leaders.
(God will never choose you over your leaders)
5. Don’t be familiar with God’s money.
6. ⁠There has to be personal faith (Hebrews 11:6). Don’t judge what God is doing in your life with another person’s life, just stay faithful
7. ⁠There has to be spiritual hunger (Psalm 117:31)
8. ⁠Learn to yield to the Spirit

Few words we learnt in church today

We are committed to God in 4 major ways:

1. Relationship: God is our Heavenly Father (John 20:17)

2. Fellowship: There is always giving and receiving (1 John 1:3, 6)

3. Partnership with God: A partner here is one who joins with someone else to achieve a purpose. God will always use men to His Work (Pro 8:4, John 5:17, 1 Cor 3:9)

4. We are His friend: Here, we are loyal to Christ and He is loyal to us. (Matt 26:50)

It takes intimacy for friendship to work.

If you don’t have a personal intimacy with God, it’ll show.

1. Closeness to God is a choice.
2. Closeness to God will cost you opportunities, relationships, etc.
3. Closeness to God must be expressed.
4. Closeness to God will put you to a test.
5. Closeness to God is rewarding.

There has to be divine intimacy with God.

Paul, Peter, the early Church, everyone of them had one hope,

That hope was not to make heaven,

That hope was resurrection.

Nobody told anybody in the early Church to ensure they make heaven,

The hope was resurrection,

See Acts 24:15, Phil 3:20-21, 1thess 4:13-18, John 5:28-29, John 6:39-40, 44,54

Heaven is not the goal, to be raised to a new life is.

Yes, we will be in heaven for a bit, but that is not our permanent residence - infact there will be a new heaven and a new earth.

Heaven is God's dwelling place - Ps115:16,

Infact God will come to the new earth and dwell with us. Rev 21:1-3

No wonder the Bible is silent on what the saints will be doing in heaven when they get there. Not one scripture tells what activities will be happening there, but the scriptures have many portions telling what will happen in the new earth, it even mentions the kinds of jobs.

The believer's hope is resurrection not making heaven.
