*IDENTIFY THE THIEF*

By *Dr Clara Akpami*

John 10:10 NKJV
The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

Jesus came to give you life in abundance so as to enjoy God's best. He has given unto us all things that pertains to life and godliness. God's provision for you is to enjoy your life and exercise control over whatever disturbs your peace. In Mark 4:38-40, Jesus was asleep inside the boat with his head on a pillow. He was enjoying His peace when the wind and water came against the boat. The disciples were troubled but he wasn't. He exercised control over the wind and the water because he knew the crook and manipulator behind the scene.

Satan is sophisticated and specialized. He operates under cover that you won't know he is the one controlling those negative events in your life. He loves to control and manipulate. He makes people to believe that he doesn't exist so that he can gain control over them.

1 Peter 5:8 says, satan is roaming around looking for whom to devour. Your faith in God's word will devour satan as you resist his activities. Don't allow him steal from you. Give him no opportunities. Don't fall into his trap. You are empowered when you submit to God's word and authority. Your resistance, built on God's word, is capable of sending satan packing out of your life. God's word does not fail.

*Prayer*
Lord we pray for the salvation of our loved ones. All of them will come to the saving knowledge of our Saviour Jesus Christ.

*FAITH THAT STANDS THE STORM*

By *Dr John Akpami*

Matthew 14:22–33 NKJV
22 Immediately Jesus made His disciples get into the boat and go before Him to the other side, while He sent the multitudes away.
23 And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. Now when evening came, He was alone there.
24 But the boat was now in the middle of the sea, tossed by the waves, for the wind was contrary.
25 Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea.
26 And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out for fear.
27 But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.”
28 And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.”
29 So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus.
30 But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”
31 And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you oflittle faith, why did you doubt?” 32 And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased.
33 Then those who were in the boat came and worshiped Him, saying, “Truly You are the Son of God.”

Life doesn't always sail smoothly. Even those walking closely with Jesus can find themselves in the middle of a storm. In Matthew 14, the disciples entered the boat in obedience; yet strong winds arose against them. This teaches us that being in God's will doesn't mean being free from trouble. Sometimes, the fiercest storms meet us on the path of obedience. But the storm's presence doesn't mean Jesus' absence.

Even when He seems far away, He is watching, praying, and ready to step in. Psalm 34:19 says “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.” When Jesus walked on the sea, Peter stepped out in faith and did the impossible, until fear made him sink. Yet Jesus, in Matthew 14:31 reached out and caught him, saying, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”

Faith keeps us steady when everything shakes. God is never late or unaware. The waves may roar, but His word sustains. Every challenge is filtered through His love and often becomes a setup for growth. Don't give up; your miracle may already be walking toward you. Keep your eyes on Jesus, not the storm. With Him, every mess can turn into a miracle.

*Prayer*
Lord, help me keep my eyes on You when life's storms rise. Strengthen my faith, and let every trial draw me nearer to Your presence.

*FIGHT BACK*

By *Dr John Akpami*

Ephesians 6:10-13 NKJV
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.
11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

We are in a world full of battles and conflicts. Thus it is imperative that you fortify yourself against all the attacks of hell. The battle is not getting milder; rather, it is getting wilder and tougher. The assaults of hell are being unleashed in their multiplicative properties. Therefore, it is not time to relent and fold your hands in despair or hopeless surrender. The truth remains that whether you are ready or not, you are aware of it or ignorant; the devil is still attacking and your survival strategy is to be alert and strong; ready to fight back.

Apostle Paul said, “Be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might.” The power of your intellect cannot make you victorious. The economy of your country isn't good enough in this raging battle. You need to understand that the battle is not physical. It will be wrong to accuse some other person for your own problems.

Whatever predicament you may find yourself in my friend, the author of such is not God. Neither is it man, though he may be an agent. Jesus said in John 10:10, “The thief cometh not, but for to steal and to kill and to destroy…” Do not blame your parents, brethren or your spouse. The enemy, satan, has done this, FIGHT BACK! Recall the song Christian seek not yet repose.

Prayer:
Lord, I fortify myself with the power of Your word; the assaults of hell will not have any effect on me. I am strong in the Lord.

*INTERRUPTING THE GOSSIP CYCLE*

By *Dr John Akpami*

1 Corinthians 13:1-8 NKJV
1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.
2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.
4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;
5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;
6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;
7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8 Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away.

In a certain village, there was a long-standing tradition. Whenever someone in the community felt wronged by another, instead of confronting them angrily or spreading gossip, the village would
call for a special gathering day. On that day, everyone would stop their regular work. The whole community would sit in a circle. The person who felt offended would speak first, but with a twist: they were not allowed to criticize or accuse the other person. Instead, they had to say all the good things they knew about that person - their positive qualities, past kindnesses, strengths, and contributions to the community. Then, others would join in, also sharing good qualities and memories involving the person who caused offense. The "offender" would listen in silence.

By the end of the day, the original grievance often felt smaller, put into perspective by the reminder of the person’s humanity and goodness. The conflict usually dissolved, and harmony was restored without harsh words or punishment. Isn't this better than someone does a thing wrongly and people forget about everything he did right? They pass it on from brother to brother speaking on what that person didn't do right. What about the ones he did right? Everyone has forgotten. Let's be rooted and grounded in love. Don't let offences or circumstances make you shift your position. Love is the greatest. Let us pursue after love - 1 Corinthians 14:1.

*Prayer*
Let my good deeds speak for me in the day of adversity O Lord, and teach me to walk in love and forgiveness in the name of Jesus.

Joshua 5:13 - 6:5 NKJV
13 And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted his eyes and looked, and behold, a Man stood opposite him with His sword drawn in His hand. And Joshua went to Him and said to Him, “Are You for us or for our adversaries?”
14 So He said, “No, but as Commander of the army of the Lord I have now come.” And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped, and said to Him, “What does my Lord say to His servant?”
15 Then the Commander of the Lord’s army said to Joshua, “Take your sandal off your foot, for the place where you stand is holy.” And Joshua did so.
6:1 Now Jericho was securely shut up because of the children of Israel; none went out, and none came in.
2 And the Lord said to Joshua: “See! I have given Jericho into your hand, its king, and the mighty men of valor.
3 You shall march around the city, all you men of war; you shall go all around the city once. This you shall do six days.
4 And seven priests shall bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark. But the seventh day you shall march around the city seven times, and the priests shall blow the trumpets.
5 It shall come to pass, when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, and when you hear the sound of the trumpet, that all the people shall shout with a great shout; then the wall of the city will fall down flat. And the people shall go up every man straight before him.”

Fear is one of the greatest barriers to destiny fulfillment. Joshua and the Israelites faced similar obstacles, yet they overcame because they depended on God's voice and followed His instructions faithfully. They had vision, faith, courage, humility, obedience, and intimacy with God. Joshua met the Commander of the Lord's army, bowed in humility, and received divine instruction for victory. These spiritual virtues helped them pull down the walls of Jericho and march into their inheritance.

The spies who were sent to Jericho also teach us an important lesson. Rahab was attractive and persuasive, her house luxurious and thrilling, yet the spies were disciplined and focused on their mission. They could have fallen into temptation and destroyed the greater mission of redemption, but they stayed true to God's purpose. Jesus later came through Rahab's lineage—a testimony that obedience preserves destiny.

Discipline will help you break barriers. Stay focused, remain obedient, and keep intimacy with God alive. Your Jericho walls will surely fall, and you will step into your promised land in Jesus' name. Amen.

*Prayer*
Lord, make me steadfast and disciplined in my walk with You. Help me to hear Your voice, obey Your word, and stay focused on my divine assignment. Every wall of Jericho before me, I command you to fall down flat, in Jesus' name.

Joshua 5:13 - 6:5 NKJV

On your journey to your promised land, the enemy places barriers before you. The enemy does not want you to attain your full potential or possess your possession, so he will put lots of obstacles before you. But the greater One lives in you, and with Him you are more than a conqueror—you are strong and a super conqueror.

On their way to the land flowing with milk and honey, the children of Israel faced various barriers: giants, Pharaoh and his army, the Red Sea, the wilderness, the scorching desert heat, serpents, snakes and scorpions, pits, thirsty land where there was no water, mountains, hills, River Jordan, hunger, and even the land of drought and shadow of death.

But God was bringing them into a good land, a land of brooks of water, fountains and springs, wheat and barley, vines and fig trees, olive oil and honey—a land in which they would eat bread without scarcity and lack nothing (Deuteronomy 8:7–10 NKJV; cf. John 10:10). Jericho was the gateway city into this bountiful land, but it was securely shut up against them.

Fear, intimidation, unbelief, and discouragement were other barriers they had to conquer to enter the land flowing with milk and honey. Barriers are only gateways to your greatness. But they broke the barriers and possessed their possessions. You will not turn back like the children of Ephraim because of barriers. You will break your barriers and possess your possessions in Jesus' name. Amen.

*Prayer*
Father, thank You because You are greater than every barrier before me. By Your Spirit, I rise above fear, unbelief, and intimidation. Help me to overcome every obstacle and enter my promised land victoriously, in Jesus' name.

*A YIELDED LIFE*

By *Dr John Akpami*

1 Corinthians 2:14-15 NKJV
14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
15 But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one.

The greatest worship you offer God is not a song, it is a yielded life. Romans 12:1 calls us to present ourselves as living sacrifices. A true ministry is not defined by activity, crowds, or platforms. It is defined by motive and obedience. Realise however that affliction is sometimes part of the package. Even the Lord Jesus said, “In this world you will have trouble…” But Psalm 91:1 reminds us that those who dwell in God's presence remain under His covering. The greatest platform is not where thousands see you, it is where Jesus is seen, the Spirit moves, and souls are saved.

Being led by His Spirit requires intentionality. Meditating on the Word causes the voice of God to become clear. When you do His Word, it aligns your lifestyle with His instructions. Putting the Word above all else positions you for supernatural help. Responding quickly to the inward witness helps you stay sensitive to His guidance.

When you yield fully to God, you become spiritually discerned, spiritually directed, and spiritually strengthened - 1 Corinthians 2:14-15. You begin to carry unusual glory, because intimacy always creates increase. Sometimes things don't change because you cried, they change because you reached boiling point in prayer, refusing to accept affliction as your portion. Effectual, fervent prayer births divine intervention.

*Prayer*
Lord, make my life fully yielded to Your Spirit and aligned with Your will.

*DO NOT FEAR FAILURE 1*

By *Dr John Akpami*

Matthew 14:25-29 NKJV
25 Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea.
26 And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out for fear.
27 But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.”
28 And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.”
29 So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus.

We see how Peter stepped out of the ship not sure of what will happen. He had never done this before. The fear of the unknown might have haunted him. Will the water become solid block or will he become as light as paper? His confidence rested only on the four letter word Jesus spoke; “COME”. Faith was the basis for his action. He believed Jesus enough to act on His word. The word of the Lord was good enough to stake his life on.

As he walks by faith, the Christian will be able to overcome the fear of the unknown. The future is not that uncertain if you have the backing of God's word for your action. Check it out; people who accomplish divine exploits are people of faith. When God tells them to move, they move. When God tells them to jump, they leap before they look. The person who risks nothing, does nothing, has nothing and remains nothing. It is a great undoing in life not to take risks.

Smith Wigglesworth says, “Fear looks, faith jumps”. Elisha, in 1 Kings 19:19-21, burnt the bridge behind him and took a leap into the unknown. The double portion of the anointing which he later got proved he was not a fool. Jesus' disciples forsook ALL to follow Him. The future did not look too bright for them at that time. Today we can all judge their actions as most appropriate.

*Prayer*
I declare that I am an overcomer over every fear the devil brings my way. I am not timid. I have the mind of Christ; my mind is sound in Jesus Name.
