‎DO NOT BE AFRAID, YOU HAVE FOUND FAVOUR

‎Today's Scripture
‎And the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favour with God.” Luke 1:30.

‎The moment Angel Gabriel greeted Virgin Mary, she became troubled and wondered what kind of greeting this was. Then heaven responded to her fear.

‎"Do not be afraid" Gabriel said. Fear is the first thing heaven addresses in the lives of God's children. Do not fear shows up 365 times in the Bible. That's enough to go round the year. So, there's one "Do not fear" for each day. Are you afraid? Remember that God already took care of that fear before whatever that caused it came. So be courageous.

‎The angel addressed her by her name, Mary. God is not sending generic comfort. He's talking to you - John 10:3. In the middle of your anxiety, heaven knows your name. You are not a crowd to God. He knows you by your name.

‎The reason was because she had found favour with God. She didn't work for it. She didn't earn it. She found it. Favour is not something you chase. It's something you receive. Favour means God chose you for a purpose - Psalm 5:12. Your fear is lying. Favour is already on you.

‎Mary found favour with God. Not favour with people. Not favour with culture. Favour with God is the only favour that can carry you through what is coming. Man's favour can fail. God's favour never fails. When God is for you, it doesn't matter who is against you - Romans 8:31.

‎A Prayer for Today
‎Thank You Lord Jesus Christ for encouraging me to not be afraid. Thank You that You call me by my name. Your favour surrounds me as with a shield. Thank You, Lord. In Jesus' Name.

‎Good morning and have a blessed worship experience!

‎YOU ARE HIGHLY FAVOURED

‎Today's Scripture
‎And the angel came in to her, and said, “Be joyful, you who are highly favoured, the Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women”. Luke 1:28.

‎Angel Gabriel went to Mary the Virgin and said, "Greetings, you who are highly favoured!" She was perfectly endowed with grace. Before God tells you what to do, He tells you who you are. He did the same to Gideon in Judges 6. Mary wasn't favoured because she was perfect. She was favoured because of grace. God chose her - Ephesians 1:4. Today, God says you are highly favoured.

‎The angel said, "The Lord is with you". The presence of the Lord is bigger than the favour. Favour without presence is empty. But presence makes you favoured. The greatest blessing is not the miracle. It's "The Lord is with you" - Joshua 1:9; Matthew 1:23. Mary was about to carry the impossible. But God didn't send the assignment without sending Himself. You were not meant to do this alone.

‎Mary was an unknown girl. She wasn't a queen. She wasn't rich. She wasn't famous. She was from Nazareth. Can anything good come from Nazareth? - John 1:46. God's favour doesn't look for platform. It looks for a yielded heart. God will bypass palaces to speak to a prayerful room. Your obscurity does not disqualify you. It often qualifies you - 1 Corinthians 1:27.

‎Favour comes with responsibility. Gabriel later tells her, "You will conceive and bear a son - Luke 1:31. Highly favoured means highly responsible. God's favour is not to make life easy for you. It's to make His purpose possible through you. But the Lord is always with you to help you carry whatever He calls you to carry.

‎A Prayer for Today
‎Thank You Abba Father for calling me "Highly favoured". Thank You Lord for being with me always to handle the assignment You called me to do. Help me to remain faithful to the end. In Jesus' Name.

‎Good morning and have a blessed day!

‎THE LORD HAS TAKEN AWAY MY DISGRACE

‎Today's Scripture
‎“This is the way the Lord has dealt with me, in these days in which he has looked on me with favour, to take away my dishonour among men”. Luke 1:25.

‎“‘The Lord has done this for me,’ she said. ‘In these days he has shown his favor and taken away my disgrace among the people.’” Luke 1:25 [NIV].

‎This is Elizabeth speaking in her fifth month of pregnancy with John the Baptist, after years of barrenness.

‎"The Lord has done this thing for me". Not the doctor or anyone or anything else but the Lord. Do you acknowledge the Lord when a miracle happens in your life? Elizabeth gave all the credit to God. Miracles are personal - "For me". What God does is never generic. He does it for you but can replicate it for whomever He wants to. When God moves, the first reaction is worship, not explanation - Psalm 118:23.

‎God is always on time. "In these days". He specializes in "now" miracles. Barrenness has a season. Shame has an expiration date. What looks like delay is actually God setting the stage - Ecclesiastes 3:11. Your own "these days" are coming.

‎God shows His children favour - grace, unmerited and undeserved. Elizabeth didn't earn this baby. You don't earn any goodness of God. God's favour removes what your effort cannot. You can't pray longer, work harder or be "good enough" to force a miracle. Favour is God deciding to show up. When favour shows up, barren places become fruitful.

‎When God comes, He removes your shame. He restores both the blessing and the name. He doesn't just fix the situation. He heals the reproach - Isaiah 54:4. God is not just about provision. He's about reputation. He restores it.

‎A Prayer for Today
‎My Abba Father, thank You for what You have done for me. Thank You for "these days" - the days You chose to show me favour. Thank You for healing me. Thank You for blessing me. Thank You for making me fruitful in all areas of life. And thank You for making a name for Yourself in my life. In Jesus' Name.

‎Good morning and have a blessed weekend!

‎WHEN GOD SILENCES YOU TO SPEAK THROUGH YOU

‎Today's Scripture
‎“And now you will be silent and not able to speak until the day this happens, because you did not believe my words, which will come true at their appointed time.” Luke 1:20 [NIV].

‎Zechariah doubted Angel Gabriel and heaven responded immediately.

‎The moment he doubted, his correction and punishment landed. Why would you doubt the God of the Universe, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the whole world?

‎Angel Gabriel didn't argue with him. He shut the mouth that doubted. God sometimes silences us to protect us from our own unbelief. Words have power - Proverbs 28:21. Zechariah was about to speak doubt over the miracle God was birthing. So God put him on mute for 9 months. Please, learn to believe God's Word. Every Word of God is true. Don't wait until you are muted.

‎The reason Zechariah was silenced was because he didn't believe Gabriel's words. This was Gabriel who stands in the presence of God and came from there with Good News. Yet Zechariah said, "How can I be sure?" - Luke 1:18. Unbelief grieves God even when you are serving Him. Zechariah was a priest, going about his duty religiously but his heart doubted. God cares more about faith than activity - Hebrews 11:6. You can be in church and still not believe God.

‎God is merciful and kind. He didn't cancel the miracle because of doubt. He said, "It will come true." God's Word doesn't depend on your belief to be true. It depends on His character. Your unbelief can delay your participation, but it cannot cancel God's plan. The baby was still coming. At the Appointed Time.

‎God gave an end to the silence. This wasn't permanent shame. This was divine discipline. God's silence seasons are temporary and purposeful. He silences you so that when He opens your mouth again, you speak faith. Zechariah's first words after 9 months were: "Blessed be the Lord God of Israel." - Luke 1:68. The mute season produced a worshipper. That's the ultimate goal.

‎A Prayer for Today
‎Forgive me my dear Lord and Father for times I've doubted Your Word. Strengthen my belief in You so I will no longer doubt You. I believe that every Word of God is true. Help me to receive all my miracles at the Appointed Time. In Jesus' Name.

‎Good morning and have a blessed day!

‎I STAND IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD

‎Today's Scripture
‎“The angel answered, ‘I am Gabriel. I stand in the presence of God, and I have been sent to speak to you and to tell you this good news.’” Luke 1:19 [NIV]

‎Zechariah was doubting and Angel Gabriel stopped him and said four things.

‎"I am Gabriel." Gabriel means "God is my strength" or "Mighty One of God." This is not just any angel. Gabriel only shows up for major moments. He came to Daniel with prophecy - Daniel 8:16; 9:21. He came to Mary with the announcement of Jesus - Luke 1:26. God often sends Gabriel when what He wants to do is global. If God sends a high-ranking angel to you, take it seriously. Don't joke with it. Don't doubt Him either. God is not playing. That message matters.

‎"I stand in the presence of God." This is the key. He didn't say, "I serve in the presence of God." He said, "I stand." In heaven, there's no sitting. Servants stand ready. The presence of God is the safest, strongest place in the universe. Gabriel was implying that "Before I came to you, I was with Him. I just left the throne room." Anything spoken from the presence of God carries weight. Before you meet the people, do you meet God? Do you disseminate your message or God's message to the people?

‎"I have been sent to speak to you." God saw Zechariah in the temple and sent Gabriel. You are not forgotten. Stay committed doing your ordinary duty. God is sending messengers. Your prayer in Luke 1:13 didn't bounce. It got Gabriel moving. Child of God, God is on your matter. Your Gabriel will soon arrive. You are worth a heavenly visit.

‎"To tell you this good news." The Greek is euangelion - Gospel; Good news. God's messages to you are not to condemn. They are Good News. Hope. Promise. Future. If whatever you are hearing brings fear, trepidation and shame, it's not from the One Gabriel stands before.

‎A Prayer for Today
‎Thank You dear Lord and Father for You are a very good God Who knows all my needs. I can't thank You enough for how You swing swiftly into action dispatching answers to me. Teach me to stand in Your Presence like Gabriel does. Let my life, my thoughts, my words, my decisions come from Your throne room. In Jesus' Name.

‎Good morning and have a blessed day!

‎THE SPIRIT AND POWER OF ELIJAH

‎Today's Scripture
‎“And he will go on before him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord” - Luke 1:17.

‎John was to come with the forerunner anointing. God already told him why he existed before he was born. Before you were born, God also had an assignment for you. Do you know your assignment?

‎John was to go on before the Lord. His whole job was to go first. He wasn't the Main Character. Jesus was. God is raising forerunners, not show-runners. Forerunners clear the road. They don't take the glory. Are you willing to prepare the way and let Jesus get the applause?

‎John was to come in the spirit and power of Elijah. Elijah called down fire. Elijah confronted kings. Elijah turned a nation back to God - 1 Kings 18. God gives you the spirit and power you need for your assignment. Not Elijah's personality. Elijah's boldness, fire, and burden for repentance. When culture is cold and compromise is normal, God sends "Elijahs". People who pray, confront, and call others back. Are you one of them?

‎John was to turn the hearts of parents to their children - heal homes and restore relationships - Malachi 4:6. He was also to turn the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous - turn rebels into disciples. God cares about broken families and broken hearts. Give Him anything that is broken in your life and He will fix it.

‎John's goal was to make ready a people prepared for the Lord. He didn't make people ready for himself but he made them ready for the Lord. The goal of your ministry, your parenting, your influence is not to build your platform, it's to prepare people for Jesus. Prepared people are people with soft hearts, repentant spirits and expectant faith.

‎A Prayer for Today
‎Thank You Lord Jesus Christ for today. Make me a forerunner indeed. Send me before You in the spirit and power of Elijah. In Jesus' Name.

‎Good morning and have a blessed day!

‎SET APART FROM THE WOMB

‎Today's Scripture
‎For he will be great in the sight of the Lord. He is never to take wine or other fermented drink, and he will be filled with the Spirit even before he is born - Luke 1:15 [NIV].

‎God will always make one's mission or assignment very clear so no one claims ignorance. Here in today's scripture, He describes the life of John before it started. He said he shall be great in the sight of the Lord. Not great on social media. Not great in the eyes of the people. But great in the sight of the Lord. God's standard of greatness is different. The world measures by number of followers, fame and money. God measures by surrender, obedience and anointing. Whose eyes are you trying to be great in?

‎John was to be separated. He was never to take wine or other fermented drink. He was a Nazirite from birth - Numbers 6:1-3. No wine. No compromise. No dulling the senses. Separate keeps you clear for God's voice. God sets apart the people He wants to use greatly. A Nazirite is one consecrated, and set apart for one purpose. You can't be filled with the Spirit and full of everything else. Some things have to be cut off so God can fill you up. What are you willing to cut off so God can fill you up?

‎Because of his assignment, John was filled with the Spirit even before he was born. Before ministry, before preaching, before the crowds, he was filled. Do you wait to be filled before you start doing ministry or do you zoom off like a tornado immediately you sense the calling? Your calling isn't dependent on your age or stage. God can fill you now. In the secret. In the waiting. The Spirit doesn't wait for you to be "ready enough." He makes you ready by filling you. A Spirit-filled life starts before public platform. The reason John was filled from his mother's womb was so he could prepare the way for Jesus - Luke 1:17. God doesn't set you apart just to make you special. He sets you apart to make Him known. Are you ready?

‎A Prayer for Today
‎Thank You Lord Jesus Christ for You are the Author and Finisher of lives and destinies. Make me great in Your sight. Set me apart for You. Keep filling me afresh with Your Spirit so I can make You known. In Jesus' Name.

‎Good morning and have a blessed week!

‎GOD HAS HEARD YOUR PRAYER

‎Today's Scripture
‎But the angel said to him: ‘Do not be afraid, Zechariah; your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to call him John.’” Luke 1:13 [NIV].

‎Zechariah was serving in the temple. Old and childless. Prayed. Prayed and prayed again. But it seemed that an answer wasn't forthcoming. Then God speaks.

‎God reassured him and said, "Do not be afraid." Fear makes us doubt. Fear makes us argue with God - Luke 1:18. God's answer often comes with peace first. If what you are hearing is making you panic, it's not from God. God's Word calms before it commissions.

‎The angel said, "Your prayer has been heard." Not your prayer is about to be heard - past tense. God heard it the day Zechariah prayed it. Nothing you pray in faith is lost. God keeps a record - Psalm 56:8. That delay is not denial. It's development. God was waiting for the right time to answer the prayer He already heard. He will also answer you!

‎"Elizabeth will bear a son." That's the answer. Specific. Personal. Impossible. God didn't give a generic blessing. He named the miracle. He named the person. God answers prayers with details. What you thought was closed, God calls "will bear."What medicine called barren, God calls "will bear."

‎You are to call him John - "The Lord is gracious. God doesn't just give gifts. He gives purpose. This child wasn't for their comfort. He was for God's plan - Luke 1:17. When God answers, He also assigns. The miracle comes with a mission. Name it. Raise it. Release it for God.

‎A Prayer for Today
‎Thank You loving Father because You hear me always. Remove fear from my heart and cause me to trust You always. Help me to keep praying so I give You something to answer. In Jesus' Name.

‎Good morning and have a blessed worship experience!

‎AN ANGEL IN THE ORDINARY

‎Today's Scripture
‎And an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing on the right side of the altar of incense. Luke 1:11.

‎It was Zechariah's turn to go into the temple. He went, doing his routine duty, probably the 10,0000th time. Who knows? And in the middle of the ordinary, God shows up.

‎After years of waiting. After years of prayer. After years of seeming disappointment. He didn't get an angel on day 1. He got it in God's time. God has a time for everyone. He has a time for you. Just be patient. He will come. God often sends an angel when you have settled into faithfulness, not hype. Your ordinary obedience is a setup for a supernatural encounter.

‎An angel of the Lord, not a feeling. Not a good thought. An angel. Angels are sent to serve those who will inherit salvation - Hebrews 1:14. You are not alone in the temple. Heaven is assigned to you. When you're doing what God told you to do, heaven shows up to talk.

‎The angel was standing at the right side of the altar of incense. This is Holy ground. The altar of incense is prayer - Revelation 8:3-4. Your prayers go up like incense. And that's where the angel stood. God answers prayer at the altar. The place you have been crying, serving, and interceding? That's where heaven positions itself. Right side = place of favour and authority.

‎The angel wasn't sitting. He was standing. Ready to deliver. Heaven was waiting for this moment too. God has answers standing by for your assignment. While you were burning incense, God was dispatching answers.

‎A Prayer for Today
‎Thank You my dear Father for You know my uprising and my sitting down. You know my pain and my worries. Thank You because I am not alone and You are ready with the solution to my problem. Receive all the glory. In Jesus' Name.

‎Good morning and have a blessed day!

‎RIGHTEOUS BEFORE GOD

‎Today's Scripture
‎Both of them were righteous in the sight of God, observing all the Lord’s commands and decrees blamelessly - Luke 1:6 (NIV)

‎Zechariah and Elizabeth, John the Baptist's parents, were old, childless and waiting, yet they were righteous before God. Not righteous before people, not righteous on social media but righteous in the sight of God. This means that going by God's standards, they were righteous. God's opinion is the only opinion that matters in the end. Do you seek the approval of men or the approval of God? You can fool a crowd. You can't fool Him. And He is looking for people who are right when no one is clapping.

‎How do you know a righteous person? He observes the Lord's commands. It was not a feeling for them. It was obedience. They didn't pick and choose. They observed all the commands. You prove what you believe by what you obey. Obedience is how righteousness walks in real life.

‎They also kept His decrees blamelessly. Blameless doesn't mean sinless. It means "without reproach." No pattern of compromise. No secret sin they were hiding. When people looked at their lives, they couldn't point to hypocrisy. God waited 400 years and then chose a blameless couple to birth the forerunner of Jesus. God wants to use you for something important and sacred. Are you blameless?

‎God was watching their righteousness and blamelessness and in due time, He rewarded them. Your own reward is coming. Don't give up. Keep doing good things.

‎A Prayer for Today
‎Thank You Lord for You are a Rewarder of them that diligently seek You. Keep me righteous and blameless in Your sight. In Jesus' Name.

‎Good morning and have a blessed weekend!
