MESSAGE FOR YOUR WEEK

You went to church today. You sang, you danced, you heard Word. Church is over. It's evening. Now the real service begins - your week.

Many people are good inside church building on Sunday, but disappear on Monday. God does not want Sunday Christians, He wants Monday-to-Saturday ambassadors.

Since you went to church today, take what you received today and make a positive difference this week. How?

1. THIS WEEK, BE THE RARE ONE WHERE GOD PLANTED YOU

You heard Word today, but your office, your school, your compound did not hear it. They are waiting to hear it through you.

Proverbs 31:10 says, "Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies."

God is asking this week - Who can find a man who will not join corruption in that office? Who can find a woman who will not join gossip in that shop?

Everybody in your workplace may lie to get contract, but you will be the ruby - rare, precious, different.

This week, don't blend. Stand out.

When others are shouting, be the one with calm voice.
When others are cheating, be the one with clean hands.
When others are complaining about Nigeria, be the one bringing solution.

You went to church today to become rare tomorrow. Don't waste the oil you received today by becoming common tomorrow.

Let your colleagues say by Friday, "That one that went to church on Sunday, there is something different about him."

2. THIS WEEK, BE A SAFE PLACE FOR SOMEONE

Verse 11 says, "The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her."

Someone this week needs to safely trust your heart.

Your husband went to work today with pressure, can he trust your words when he returns?
Your wife is carrying silent battle, can she trust your heart to keep her secret?
Your friend, your colleague, your child - can they safely trust you?

Proverbs 11:13 says, "A talebearer revealeth secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter."

This week, take a stand to be safe.

Don't carry gist from one house to another.
Don't spoil what was committed into your hand.
Don't betray confidence because of small anger.

If you went to church today, let someone sleep peacefully this week because you are trustworthy.

Be the person who keeps promise, who keeps secret, who keeps people safe.

3. THIS WEEK, DO GOOD ALL THE DAYS, NOT JUST ON SUNDAY

Verse 12 says, "She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life."

Sunday is finished. But goodness must continue Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday.

Many are angels on Sunday, but monsters on Monday morning.

You sang "I love you Lord" today - show it tomorrow when that neighbor offends you.

You shouted "Hallelujah" today - show it on Tuesday when that customer tries to cheat you.

Galatians 6:9 says, "Let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap."

This week, decide:

On Monday, I will do good at work.
On Tuesday, I will do good in my street.
On Wednesday, I will do good to my spouse even when he does not deserve it.
On Thursday, I will do good to that person who gossiped me.

Your week is your pulpit.

You went to church today to collect fire. This week, go and distribute light.

Don't come back next Sunday same way you left today. Come back with testimony - "This week, because I went to church, I made a positive difference."

Take a stand this week. Be rare. Be safe. Be good - all the days.

Go and shine.

IF YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR A CHURCH DUTY TOMORROW, DON'T WAIT UNTIL SUNDAY MORNING

Tomorrow is Sunday.

If you are usher, chorister, media, Sunday school teacher, protocol, cleaner, prayer band, children's church, welfare, greeter - hear this:

Don't wait until Sunday morning to prepare. Sunday morning preparation is late preparation.

1. SUNDAY MORNING IS FOR MANIFESTATION, NOT PREPARATION

Many of us prepare on Sunday morning.

Chorister learns song on Sunday morning inside bathroom.
Sunday school teacher reads lesson on Sunday morning inside bus.
Usher irons uniform on Sunday morning and comes sweating and panting.
Media person looks for cable on Sunday morning.

That is why power does not flow.

Jesus fed 5,000, but disciples arranged people in groups before miracle happened - Mark 6:39-40. Arrangement before manifestation.

If you wait till Sunday morning to prepare, you will perform, you will not minister. You will sweat, you will not flow.

Your duty tomorrow is not a small thing. God trusted you with souls tomorrow. Don't joke with it.

2. WHAT YOU DO ON SATURDAY NIGHT DETERMINES WHAT GOD WILL DO ON SUNDAY MORNING

Saturday night is the altar for Sunday morning.

What are you doing tonight?

If you are responsible for duty tomorrow, tonight do these:

Charge your spirit: Pray tonight for tomorrow's service. Don't pray tomorrow morning inside church when prayer is already going on. Pray tonight. Tell God, "Tomorrow use me."

Charge your material: Your Bible, your lesson note, your uniform, your shoes, your instrument, your mic, your laptop - arrange it tonight. Don't look for it tomorrow morning shouting "Where is my tie?"

Charge your body: Sleep early tonight. Some will watch film till 1am tonight, then tomorrow they will be sleeping inside church while doing duty. How can you usher people when you yourself are sleeping?

Ecclesiastes 10:10 says, "If the axe is dull and one does not sharpen the edge, then he must use more strength." Saturday night sharpening saves Sunday morning strength.

A sharp axe on Saturday cuts easily on Sunday. A dull axe on Sunday morning will embarrass you.

3. GOD TAKES YOUR DUTY SERIOUSLY, EVEN IF YOU DON'T

You think your duty is small? "I am only usher." "I am only children's church."

My brother, there is no only in God's house.

1 Corinthians 4:2 says, "It is required in stewards that a man be found faithful." Not talented, faithful.

God did not give you duty to fill space, He gave you duty to save souls.

That smile you will give as usher tomorrow can heal broken heart.
That song you will sing as chorister tomorrow can break yoke.
That lesson you will teach children tomorrow can save a destiny for 30 years.
That sound you will control tomorrow can help someone hear Word that will change their life.

But if you come unprepared Sunday morning, you will kill what God wanted to use you to birth.

Zechariah 4:10 says, "Do not despise the day of small things." Your duty is not small.

4. HOW FAITHFUL PEOPLE PREPARE BEFORE SUNDAY MORNING

Tomorrow you will know faithful servants from eye service servants.

Faithful servant tonight:

He has already ironed uniform tonight, not tomorrow morning.
He has already rehearsed song, read lesson, checked instrument.
He has already slept early, set alarm, planned to leave early to arrive before members.
He has already prayed, "God, tomorrow help me to serve with joy."

Eye service servant tomorrow morning:

He will be running inside church with bread in mouth.
He will be saying "Sorry, traffic."
He will be borrowing Bible, borrowing pen, looking for lesson.
He will serve with stress, not with joy.

Don't be that one.

Tonight, prepare.

Because tomorrow is Sunday, and God is counting on you to be ready before the people arrive.

If you are responsible for duty tomorrow, don't wait till Sunday morning.

Prepare tonight. Shine tomorrow.

IF THE PERSON BESIDE YOU COMES LATE TOMORROW, DON'T MAKE THEM FEEL UNWELCOME

Tomorrow is Sunday. Someone will come late.

Maybe traffic held them. Maybe baby delayed them. Maybe they slept late because they worked night shift to pay rent. Maybe they fought battle to even enter church.

And the moment they enter, they will be looking for one friendly face. Don't be the one that will make them feel unwelcome.

1. DON'T BE USHER OF JUDGMENT

Some of us have become ushers without uniform.

The moment someone comes late, our eyes do like CCTV. We look them from head to toe. We hiss. We shift chair with anger. We make face like "You again, you are always late."

My brother, my sister, you have chased many people from church with your face, not with sermon.

James 2:2-3 says if someone enters your assembly in fine clothes you give them good seat, but if poor enters you say sit on floor, you have become judges with evil thoughts. Same way, when late comer enters, and you treat them like sinner, you have become judge.

You don't know their story. You only know their timing.

That sister that came late tomorrow may have prayed for 2 hours at home to get strength to come, because devil told her "Don't go." And she still came. And you with your face now tell her "Why did you come?"

Tomorrow, when late comer enters, smile. Shift chair with love, not with hiss. Let your smile say "Thank God you came" not "Why did you come now?"

2. THE LATE COMER MAY BE THE REASON GOD KEPT THE SERVICE

You think service is for early comers alone?

In Matthew 20, workers that came 11th hour still got same wages. God does not pay by African time, God pays by heart time.

Jesus told parable of lost sheep - He left 99 that came early to go and find 1 that was late. That late one beside you tomorrow may be the 1 that heaven left 99 for.

If you make them feel unwelcome, you are working against heaven's agenda.

That late comer tomorrow may be the one that needs that altar call the most. May be the one that wanted to commit su***de on Saturday but decided "Let me try church on Sunday." And they came late. If you frown at them, they will go back and complete su***de.

Your smile can keep them. Your frown can kill them.

3. REMEMBER, YOU TOO WERE ONCE LATE - IN LIFE, NOT JUST IN CHURCH

Think.

You too came late to know God. Some knew God at age 5, you knew Him at age 35. Did God make you feel unwelcome?

You too come late to many things - you come late to pray, you come late to read Bible, you come late to forgive. Did God hiss at you?

Ephesians 2:13 says, "You who were once far off have been brought near by the blood." You were far off, you were late comer to grace. Jesus still welcomed you.

So why will you not welcome another late comer?

Early coming does not make you senior in heaven. Grace does.

Some early comers will be last, some late comers will be first.

4. HOW TO WELCOME A LATE COMER TOMORROW - PRACTICAL

Tomorrow, do this:

When they enter, smile, shift, create space. Don't whisper to your neighbor "See this one, always late."

If you are sitting at edge, stand small and let them pass without making them climb over 10 people with shame.

After service, don't preach them "You came late oh." Hug them, "I am happy you came."

If they sat beside you, during offering or greeting time, shake them - "Welcome, God bless you for coming."

That small welcome may be the reason they will come early next Sunday.

Don't be the reason someone stops coming to church. Be the reason someone keeps coming.

Tomorrow is Sunday. Someone beside you will come late.

Don't roll eyes. Roll out love.

NEVER SPEND THE ENTIRE SERVICE WATCHING WHAT OTHER PEOPLE ARE DOING

You dressed up, you entered church, you sat down. But from opening prayer to benediction, your neck was turning like CCTV camera.

You saw who entered late. You saw who was chewing gum. You saw who was pressing phone. You saw who stood up to go to toilet three times. You saw everything, except God.

At the end, pastor said, "How was service?" You said, "Service was okay." But inside you, you have full report of 10 people, and zero report of what God told you.

That is a wasted Sunday.

1. YOU CAME FOR AN ENCOUNTER, NOT FOR A REPORT

Nobody pays transport, leaves bed on Sunday morning, just to come and count people's shoes.

You came because you need God to touch you. You have a prayer you have been praying since Monday. You have a battle you are fighting at home. You have a need only God can fix.

But the devil is very smart. He knows if you focus, you will catch your miracle. So he gives you something else to focus on - people. He makes you watch the usher that shouted at you last week. He makes you watch that brother that is always making noise. He makes you watch that sister that is always dancing too much.

And while you are busy watching them, your own blessing passes you.

Matthew 14:30 - Peter was walking on water, looking at Jesus. Immediately he looked at the wind, he began to sink. As long as he was watching Jesus, he was on top of water. The moment he started watching wind, he started sinking.

Many of us sink in service because we stop watching Jesus and start watching wind - wind of who is doing what.

If you spend entire service watching people, you will sink in that same service. You will go home heavy, annoyed, critical, empty.

But if you spend entire service watching Jesus, you will walk on top of your problems.

2. YOU TURN YOURSELF TO JUDGE, AND JUDGES DON'T RECEIVE MERCY

When you spend entire service watching people, without knowing, you have turned yourself to judge.

"This one is not serious."
"This one is pretending."
"This one came late again."
"This one is forming holy."

You sit on judgment seat for two hours. You discharge and acquit, you condemn and sentence, all inside your mind.

But Matthew 7:1 says, "Judge not, that you be not judged." And James 4:12 says there is only one Judge.

Judges don't worship. Judges don't receive. In court, judge does not go to collect gift, he sits to give judgment. So when you turn yourself to judge in service, you block your own gift. God cannot bless a judge who is busy judging His other children.

Leave judgment. You are not the Holy Spirit. You are not employed as inspector. Your employment letter in church says "Worshipper," not "Inspector."

3. YOU MISS YOUR OWN DELIVERANCE BECAUSE YOU ARE WATCHING ANOTHER MAN'S DEMON

This one is deep.

Sometimes the Word is coming directly for you. Pastor is preaching about anger, and God is dealing with your anger. But instead of saying, "Lord, help me," you say, "This message is for that brother, he is always angry." You shift the message to another person.

Pastor is preaching about forgiveness, God wants to heal your heart. But you say, "I wish my husband is here to hear this." You send the message to your husband in your mind, but you refuse to collect it for yourself.

You spend entire service sending messages to other people in your head, and you go home empty.

Luke 18:11 - The Pharisee stood and prayed, "God, I thank You that I am not like other men." He spent his prayer watching other men. The tax collector beside him said, "God, be merciful to me a sinner." He was watching himself. Jesus said the tax collector went home justified, the Pharisee went home empty.

If you spend entire service watching other men, you will go home like the Pharisee - empty, proud, with gist, but no justification.

If you spend entire service watching yourself before God - "Lord, have mercy on me, change me, help me" - you will go home justified.

4. COMPARISON WILL KILL YOUR JOY

When you watch people for two hours, you will start comparing.

You compare their dressing to yours, their anointing to yours, their husband to yours, their children to yours, their offering to yours.

And comparison is a thief. It will steal your joy, steal your worship, steal your thanksgiving.

You came to thank God for your life, but after watching people, you start complaining about your life.

"I wish I have what she has." "Why is he always happy?" "Why does pastor call him always?"

You came with thanksgiving, you leave with envy, because you were watching people.

2 Corinthians 10:12 says, "They measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise." It is not wise to spend entire service comparing.

Stop comparing. Face your own front in church. Face your own God.

5. GOD CAN ONLY FILL AN EMPTY HAND, NOT A BUSY EYE

Your eye is busy, your hand is empty.

God wants to fill your hands with blessing, with Word, with peace, with direction for the week. But your eyes are so busy traveling around the auditorium, your heart cannot receive.

Imagine you go to market to buy rice, but you spend entire time watching what other people are buying. You will come home with no rice.

Many come to church market and go home with no rice because they were watching what others were buying.

From next Sunday, try this:

Enter church 10 minutes early. Sit down. Close your eyes. Say, "Father, I am here for You only. Everybody else can do what they want to do, but as for me, I want to meet You today. Speak to me."

During worship, worship. Don't watch who is jumping. Jump if you want to jump.

During prayer, pray. Don't watch who is shouting.

During Word, write. What is God telling ME today? Not what is pastor telling them.

If you do that for one month, you will see difference. You will stop going home with report about people, you will start going home with report about God.

You came to church for God, not for people.

Never spend the entire service watching what other people are doing.

Spend the entire service watching what God is doing in you.

BEFORE YOU ADMIRE A POWERFUL MINISTRY, LOOK CLOSELY AT WHAT HAPPENS BEHIND THE PLATFORM

You see the power on the platform, but you did not see the pain behind the platform.

You see the man of God praying for 10 minutes and people falling. You say, "I want this ministry." But you did not see the man praying for 10 hours in the night when nobody was watching.

You admire the glory, but you don't know the story behind the glory.

Every powerful ministry you admire has a very un-powerful behind-the-platform life that produces the powerful platform.

1. BEHIND EVERY POWERFUL PLATFORM IS A PRIVATE ALTAR THAT NOBODY CLAPS FOR

On platform, everybody shouts. Behind platform, nobody shouts.

On platform, lights, microphone, fine suit, crowd shouting amen. Behind platform, dark room, knee on floor, tears, no microphone, no crowd, only God watching.

Many want platform anointing without private altar.

You want to preach like that, but you don't want to pray like that. You want to sing like that, but you don't want to fast like that. You want crowd like that, but you don't want lonely nights like that.

Matthew 6:6 - "When you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly." Openly is platform. Secret is behind platform.

The open reward you admire is a product of secret tears you did not see.

Before you admire that powerful ministry, go and ask - how many hours does he pray when nobody is there? How many days does he fast when nobody is posting it? That is the real ministry. Platform is just 5% display of 95% secret work.

If you are not ready for 95% secret, forget 5% platform.

2. BEHIND EVERY POWERFUL PLATFORM IS A CHARACTER THAT CAN CARRY THE ANOINTING

Anointing can lift you, but only character can keep you there.

We admire power, but God admires character.

You see a man lay hands and miracles happen. You say, "Powerful!" But God is looking at his character behind platform - Is he faithful to his wife when no member is there? Is he honest with church money when nobody audits him? Is he humble when people praise him? Does he keep his word?

Acts 1:1 - "The former account I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and to teach." Notice - to do first, then to teach. Do is character behind platform, teach is power on platform.

Many want to teach before they do. They want platform before character.

That is why many powerful ministries crash after 3 years. Powerful on platform, but cracked behind platform. No integrity, no faithfulness, no self-control.

Before you admire that ministry, look closely at the man behind the microphone. If you remove microphone, is there still a man worth following? If you remove crowd, is there still a Christian?

Don't chase power, chase character. Power will come, but character will keep it.

3. BEHIND EVERY POWERFUL PLATFORM IS A FAMILY THAT PAID THE PRICE

This is the one nobody talks about.

That powerful man on platform, his wife paid price. His children paid price. His family endured long nights, long fasting, many absences, many attacks.

Some ministries are powerful on platform but their family is dying behind platform. Children don't know father, wife is lonely, home is scattered, but crowd is shouting.

That is not powerful ministry, that is painful ministry.

A truly powerful ministry has peace behind platform. His wife can say, "This man is the same at home." His children can say, "Our father loves us, not just crowd."

1 Timothy 3:5 - "If a man does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?" God measures ministry by house, not just by platform.

Before you admire a powerful ministry, ask - what is happening in his house behind platform? Is his house standing or is his house crying?

Powerful ministry without peaceful house is noise.

4. BEHIND EVERY POWERFUL PLATFORM IS A LIFE OF SACRIFICE YOU DID NOT SEE

You see fine suit on platform, you did not see old shoe behind platform for 5 years.

You see big auditorium, you did not see small room where they started with 6 chairs and rats.

You see big offering on Sunday, you did not see years of giving out of nothing, trekking to preach, being mocked.

We admire now, but we don't know then.

2 Corinthians 11:23-28 - Paul lists his behind platform - labors, stripes, prisons, stoning, shipwreck, perils, weariness, sleeplessness, hunger. That is behind platform. On platform, he writes epistles that shake the world. Behind platform, he is hungry.

If you only admire platform, you will think ministry is enjoyment. No. Ministry is endurance behind platform that produces enjoyment on platform.

So before you say, "I want this ministry," ask yourself - am I ready to pay the price behind platform? Am I ready to pray when nobody claps? Am I ready to build character when nobody sees? Am I ready to keep my family together while serving? Am I ready to sacrifice, to endure, to be faithful when it is not sweet?

If you are not ready for behind platform, you are not ready for platform.

Don't just admire power on platform. Look closely at what happens behind platform.

That is where real ministry lives.
