REMEMBER THE LORD

“Then I said, ‘O Lord, you have driven me from your presence. Yet I will look once more toward your holy Temple.’” Jonah 2:4 (NLT)

According to the scriptures, Jonah was in the belly of the fish. And he was overwhelmed in that very condition. But though Jonah was in a bad situation, he refused to look at it. Rather, he chose to look in the direction of God and His word. In verses 5-6, Jonah said: “I sank beneath the waves, and the waters close over me. Seaweed wrapped itself round about my head. I sank down to the very roots of the mountains. I was imprisoned in the earth whose gates locked shut forever. But you O Lord my God, snatched me from the jaws of death.”

Though Jonah was still in the belly of the fish, his confession showed that he was seeing himself the way God saw him, even in that situation. As his life was slipping away, He remembered the lord. Beloved, who and what are you remembering? Are you remembering Doctor’s report? Are you remembering the predictions, postulations, and calculations of man? Are you remembering dreams and negative desires of people towards you? Who are you remembering? The psalmist declares: “Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: But we will remember the name of the LORD our God.” (Psalm 20:7)

Jonah went further to say: “As my life was slipping away, I remembered the Lord, and my earnest prayer went out to you in your holy temple. Those who worship false gods turn their backs on all God’s mercy, but I will offer sacrifices to you, with songs of praise and I will fulfill all my vows. For my salvation comes from the Lord alone.” (Jonah 2:7-9 NLT)

In the kings James version, verse 8 says, “those who observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy”. In other words, what you are seeing around you that looks negative are lying vanities. They create fear in you. But our God is still a God of mercy.

LOOK UNTO THE LORD FOR HELP

“Delirious, I chattered like a swallow or a crane, and then I moaned like a mourning dove. My eyes grew tired of looking to heaven for help. I am in trouble, Lord. Help me!” Isaiah 38:14 (NLT)

Beloved, the secret place is a place where you are supposed to come to the end of yourself and look unto God. When you look unto Him, your face will be enlightened, and you will not be ashamed. When Hezekiah came to the end of himself, he asked God for help. Before then, all that Hezekiah was saying about himself was not what God was seeing. May I declare to you that every negative thing you are seeing about yourself, God is not seeing it. You are important in the assignment of God. That is why you will still be very much around. God has you covered; past, present, and future. You still have a say in this world. You are still going to make a formidable impact for the kingdom of God in your world. You are full of potentials. The investments, treasures and talents that God put inside you are still potent. God cannot bring you this far to abandon you. He is your Helper!

“But what could I say? For he himself sent this sickness. Now I will walk humbly throughout my years because of this anguish I have felt. Lord, your discipline is good, for it leads to life and health. You restore my health and allow me to live!” (Isaiah 38:15-16 NLT). Here, Hezekiah’s confession has changed. What I am going through is going to lead me to life and health. It is just a walk through. My business will be better. I now have a clearer picture of what God wants me to do and how to succeed. I now have a clearer vision on the direction my business should go and how I should pursue my destiny.

Beloved, stop looking at your circumstance and start looking unto Jesus. You are not going to die! Your health has been restored. You have been allowed to live. Focus on what Jesus has already done.

WHAT ARE YOU SEEING ABOUT YOURSELF

“I said in the cutting off of my days, I shall go to the gates of the grave: I am deprived of the residue of my years. I said, I shall not see the LORD, even the LORD, in the land of the living: I shall behold man no more with the inhabitants of the world.” Isaiah 38:10-11 (KJV)

Hezekiah cried out to God in his secret place and God intervened. Now, if you read that passage in a hurry, you would have thought that immediately he prayed, God answered. No, God did not just answer because he prayed; more especially when he was coming to God and branding his achievements before God. There is nothing wrong in doing what is right. However, the truth is that, God is good to you because He is good; not because you are qualified. Anything you receive from God is because of His mercy and grace. When you come before God, stop branding your achievements.

Majority of Christians approach God telling Him what they have done. They forget that ever before they arrived, God was already seated and has provided everything necessary for our good. When Hezekiah began to brandish his achievements, he began to spout negative things. From our text, you see that he was already writing his obituary. He began to spout failure. How he would die. How he was not going to come out of the situation. Just like many believers! When faced with challenges, they get worried about how they will come out and how their businesses will not bounce back. You see, when you are in the secret place, God intends for you to begin to see differently. Stop writing your obituary. Stop making plans to die.

What are you seeing about yourself? Are you seeing yourself bouncing back at the end of that very challenge? Are you seeing yourself pulling through? As for me and my house, we have made up our minds that we are going to take our portion in the land. We are going to give the devil a black eye. That should be your position. Expect only th

YOU ALWAYS NEED THE WORD AND PRAYERS

“Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.” 2 Timothy 4:2 (KJV)

Never allow the devil lie to you that you can have enough of the word of God and prayers. If there was anything you really need to latch on to at this time of uncertainty, instability, depression, frustration discouragement and hopelessness, it is the word of God and prayers. You can never have enough of the word of God and prayers. This is not a time for a short word of prayer or a little talk with Jesus. No, this is a time of praying without ceasing, connecting to God and connecting to the things of the Spirit. So that you can stay in a high level and operate in a greater dimension than the enemy.

David said in Psalms 27:13, “I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living”. In other words, if he hadn’t believed, he would have fainted. What did he believe? He believed the word of God. Romans 10:13-16 says; “for whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? As it is written, how beautiful are the feet of them who preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! But they have not all obeyed the gospel; for Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?” You see that again? You need to believe the report in order to get results. Now look at verse 17; “so then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God”. That means you will not be able to have faith to access the goodness of God if you don’t hear the word of God. When you stop hearing the word, faith goes, and fear comes.

DON'T BELIEVE THE LIES OF THE DEVIL

“And he knew it, and said, It is my son's coat; an evil beast hath devoured him; Joseph is without doubt rent in pieces. And Jacob rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his loins, and mourned for his son many days.” Genesis 37:33-34 (KJV)

Beloved, anything that influences your thought pattern will influence your feeling. Let me paint a scenario to drive home the point I am trying to make. If for instance, you have been rejoicing and celebrating with dancing and singing, then suddenly someone comes to sell a lie to you that he saw your letter of termination from your job. At that moment, if you pay attention to the lie, the joy, the celebration, the dancing and the singing will change to anger and tears immediately. There will be no more joy and celebration because right there and then you just believe that you will be fired from your job.

When the children of Jacob came with the blood-stained dress of Joseph and told Jacob that his son has been killed by an animal, he went into mourning. He was shown the coat of many colors as evidence. But it was a lie they sold to him. Yet his feelings changed immediately. He thought and said that his end had come. He thought he will no longer see his son. Why? Simply because somebody came and sold a lie to him.

You will be surprised how people today believe a lie concerning their business, family, health, job, career, finance, and academic life. The devil is painting all kinds of negative pictures; telling you that you will not come out of your present predicament. I want to encourage you that the word of God is more powerful. God’s word can never fail. If God has said something concerning you, it will surely come to pass. “God is not a man, that he should lie; Neither the son of man, that he should repent: Hath he said, and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?” Numbers 23:19 KJV

THE DEVIL IS A DEFEATED FOE

“And David took the head of the Philistine, and brought it to Jerusalem; but he put his armour in his tent” 1 Samuel 17:54 KJV

The devil’s head is off already so we have no reason to fear. David brought Goliath’s head back home to give an assurance to those back home that the enemy is defeated. The devil is a defeated foe. But he wants you to be ignorant of this truth

The book of John 16:33 says: “I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.]” (Amplified)

You see, one of the challenges of God’s people is our inability, many times, to walk in the revelation of the Word of God. It is not just enough to read. There is also a need for you to really meditate and receive the full import of what God is saying. Until you fully understand the victory that Christ has purchased for us, you will be shortchanged by the enemy.
The devil specializes in keeping God’s people ignorant. That is why Paul in his prayers was not praying for people to get this or to get that. He was more concerned about us knowing. He wants us to have understanding and to have revelation. His prayer in Ephesians 1:17 reads thus: “That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him”. Knowing is very important because “through knowledge shall the just be delivered”. (Proverb 11:9 KJV)
Another scripture says, “Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.” (Psalm 119:18). It is in His light that you will see light. When light comes, darkness recedes. So, we need to know what God has done for us in Christ Jesus. Don’t allow yourself to be shortchanged by the devil.

RECIEVING THE MANIFESTATION OF GOD'S WORD

“...but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it” Hebrews 4:2 (KJV)

God is a good God and wants his children blessed. That has always been His desire! And He made it very clear right from creation. In the book of Genesis, right after man was made in God’s image, the first statement that came from God’s lips was blessing. “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth”.(Genesis 1:28)
In other words, God wants you to be successful in every area of life. He wants you to fulfill destiny. He wants you to be happy while living here on earth. And He wants you to fulfill the divine purpose for which He has raised you. So, it’s always God’s desire that you’ll be blessed; he is a good God and does only good.

However, what I have observed over the years is that, many times, the promises of God to a lot of people do not find manifestation or expression because they do not know what to do. Beloved, God cannot lie. His promises are yea and amen in Christ. If we don’t see manifestation, there something we are not doing right.

In order to receive manifestation, the promises of God must be received by faith. The Word we have received must be mixed with faith in our hearts. That is how to see manifestation. You may receive a prophetic declaration but if you don’t mix it with faith, you may end up not receiving the manifestation. And you will be frustrated.
According to our text, everyone received the word. But some did not mix the Word with faith. Others mixed it with faith. They accepted it as true. And because they did, they received manifestation.

YOU ARE COMING OUT OF TROUBLE

“The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: But the just shall come out of trouble.” Proverbs 12:13 (KJV)

In Christ alone we have our boast. We do not boast in our effort. And we do not boast in our credentials. Before our very eyes, everything that is man-made is being shaken. Everything that man depends on is being shaken because God wants us to depend on Him and make our boast only in Him. He is the rock that we can truly lean on. He is the rock of ages.
Beloved, do you know that one of the scarcest commodities in the world today is the Word of God? There is no scarcity of toilet rolls. There is no scarcity of food. There is scarcity of the Word of God. You see, it is what you do with the Word that determines how you come out in times of adversity and in times of challenge. The scripture gives you insight into that which has already been made available to you as a child of God. Therefore, you must stay constantly hungry for the Word of God. Your breakthrough is in the Word. Your deliverance is in the Word.

According to the scriptures, Jesus Christ was locked down in the grave for three days, but the grave could not hold Him. He came out of the lockdown. Know this, it doesn’t matter what type of lockdown you are in, God is working on your behalf behind the scenes. The Lord is working behind the scenes. So, don’t ever be discouraged. Don’t be depressed! Don’t be frustrated! Don't be confused! There is no lockdown for a child of God. You are coming out stronger. You are coming out better. You are coming out with massive testimonies. It is written: “Many are the afflictions of the righteous: But the LORD delivereth him out of them all.” (Psalm 34:19)

CONFRONT YOUR CONFRONTATIONS

“And it came to pass, when the Philistine arose, and came and drew nigh to meet David, that David hasted, and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine”. 1Samuel 17:48 (KJV)

Goliath was fully armed and intimidating in outlook. That is how intimidating the devil looks. But don’t be dismayed by all those fancy things.
David was not intimidated! He stepped out and confronted Goliath. Remember that it was a battle of one man on either side. If Goliath defeated David, Saul and the entire Israel will serve the Philistines. And if David defeated Goliath, the Philistines would serve them. And that was what happened. While Goliath was still figuring out what type of boy was coming against him, David brought him down with a sling and a stone. God uses the foolish things of this world to confound the wise and the prudent. Your weapon or your gift may look stupid, it may even be considered as nothing, but if it is touched by God, it becomes a powerful weapon that will produce supernatural experience. Goliath was intimidating, but David knowing in whom he believed; ran towards Goliath and killed him.

Stop withdrawing and retreating! Run towards your challenge! Confront your confrontations! Attack your attackers! You have all the authority. You have what it takes. Every Goliath in your life is coming down. The Goliath of sickness, of disease, of pain, of disappointment and of poverty are coming down. Evil shall bow before you and the wicked at your gate. There is always a bounce back mechanism for every child of God. So I can assure you that you will bounce back from every set back. Your story will not end in shame. It will not end in disgrace. It will not end in embarrassment; it will not end in ridicule. Whatever you face, let not your heart fail you. You are coming out triumphant! You are bouncing back! You are coming out with spoils of victory.

HE HAS DONE IT

"Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee." Genesis 17:5 (KJV)

Child of God, you must always recognize that you are a child of the kingdom and God has finished all that concerns you before He ever made the promise to you. All you need do is begin to walk towards that which is already perfected in God. God changed Abraham's name and made him a father of many nations ever before it happened.

You see, when God gives you His word, that is not when He is preparing it. It is already prepared. God expects you to begin to walk towards it. It is in walking towards it that you become it. That is what faith is. He says it to tell you what has already been done in the Spirit. It is your walking towards it whether it looks like it or not, that produces what God has spoken. That is what is called faith.

Without faith it is impossible to please God. It is impossible to be all that God made you to be if you are not walking in faith. It pleases God to see His children walking towards what He has promised. If you must develop the faith that pleases God, you must read the bible daily. The word is able to build you up, and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified (Acts 20:32). And faith comes by hearing the word of God.

Secondly change your thinking by the word. Let your thought align with God’s word and promises for your life. The word of God should form the content of your thoughts. Refuse a negative mindset by casting down every thought that is contrary to the finished work of Christ on the cross. Don’t forget also to continually build up yourself in your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost. “For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.” 1 Corinthians 14:2. This way you will re-program your mind and keep

GOD IS DOING SOMETHING NEW

“I am going to do something new. It is already happening. Don’t you recognize it? I will clear a way in the desert. I will make rivers on dry land.” Isaiah 43:19 (GW)

The ancient prophet of God, Isaiah, asked a very important question which I am asking you today. Considering all that God is causing to manifest in our nation; “Don’t you recognize it?” Another version reads, “Can you not see it?” Beloved, in this season, God is doing something new and it is already happening. Look all around you and see unusual things taking place around the world. These are things beyond our human comprehension. Things that no one could have perfectly scripted. Don’t just look with your natural eye, but with the eyes of your spirit. It is neither an accident nor a coincidence that the things that are currently unfolding across the length and breadth of the world are happening in our very own eyes and the whole world is watching.

For you to experience the new thing that God is doing, you will need to prepare yourself. Prepare yourself in the place of prayer for the new thing that is about to spring forth. I want to implore you to spend more time praying in the Holy Ghost. The truth is that we cannot fully articulate all that is happening in this period with our human language. But we can pray in tongues and speak mysteries and divine wisdom ordained for our glory. Stand firm on the word of God. The word will produce for you.

Child of God, these are the days of the manifestation of God’s power and might in the lives of His children like never before. And I declare that you are the next in line for a mind-blowing and earth-shattering testimony! It is happening speedily. Like a root out of dry ground, your testimony will spring forth. And all eyes, including the eyes of those who wrote you off and left you for dead, will see it. The voices of the wicked one against your life shall be silenced. No weapon fashioned

BE AUDACIOUS IN PRAYERS

“Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead man was lying. And Jesus lifted up his eyes and said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me”. John 11:41 (NKJV)

Today, I want to encourage you to come boldly to the throne of grace and obtain mercy. God is your Father and you have His approval because of Jesus. And so, you can make bold demands and expect a response from heaven. That is what the finished work of Jesus has done for you, and I. Our text is the prayer Jesus prayed at the tomb of Lazarus who had been dead for four days. The situation was clearly daunting, but Jesus wasn’t perturbed, He said “I thank You that You have heard Me.” That was a bold statement! He knew that Lazarus had no other choice but to come forth because the Father already heard His prayers.

When you know that your prayers are not to beg God, not to arm-twist Him or to change His mind, it changes the way you pray. That is why praying scriptures are vitally important because in praying scriptures, you are taking God’s Word back to Him. The Bible says the barren shall keep house and be joyful mothers of children. The Word of God says that you are the head and not the tail. The Word says no weapon formed against you shall prosper. The Word says I will bless your bread and your water and take away sickness from your midst. The Word says if you lack wisdom ask of God and He will give it to you freely. In prayers, get into the scriptures and take God’s word back to Him and watch Him flex His muscles on your behalf. The scriptures give you a holy audacity in prayers.
I believe God with you that this season will not pass you by. Your ground will produce, and the earth will yield great harvest for you. In whatever area the enemy is raising his ugly head against you, today I present the blood that was shed to condemn him to eternal defeat. And I command the enemy to loose his hold over your life.
