Learning about Christ is always a joy. Last Saturday, as a church, we came together to learn and study about the Messiah in the Passover. For many, it was their first time experiencing this. They learned how the Passover Seder became the Last Supper, and how the Last Supper became what we now celebrate as Holy Communion

*SPSJC Encouraging word*

In Genesis 22, God instructs Abraham to offer his son as a burnt offering. In the ancient world, especially among the Canaanites, human sacrifice was practiced, so such a command was not culturally shocking. However, Abraham knew that the Lord was not like the pagan gods who demanded human sacrifice.

This was not a test to create faith, but to reveal the faith God had already been forming in Abraham over many years. Little by little, God had shaped Abraham into a man of faith, and this moment exposed the depth of trust that God Himself had built within him.

At the crucial moment, God provided a lamb in Isaac’s place. Through this, God revealed His true nature. He is a God who provides. This points us to the greater truth of the gospel: the same God has given us the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ, for our salvation🙏🏻

*SPSJC Encouraging word*

Church of God, today the Lord invites us not to pretend that everything is fine, but to come just as we are. Many of us are carrying burdens that no one else can see worries about family, struggles in our work, fears about the future, silent pain in our hearts. The Lord knows them all.

Jesus says, “Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” He does not say, “Fix yourself first,” or “Be strong on your own.” He says, “Come.”

So today, church, bring your burdens to Him. Lay them at His feet. What is too heavy for you is not too heavy for the Lord. What you cannot change, He can transform. When we place our burdens in His hands, we make room for His peace, His strength, and His guidance.

Let us trust Him again, surrender again, and believe that the God who carried the cross for us is more than able to carry us today.🙏🏻
