WE are back - though not in full force yet. From May 1, the Std 3 to 6 (Gospel Kids-first service) have trooped back to physical class.

The younger children from Nursery, Kindy, Std 1 and 2 will resume physical class from June 5.

The Kingdom Kids (2nd service) will return to the classes when the Main Worship starts its physical 2nd Service.

Despite an absence of two years (March 2020 to April 2022), we have around 30 students who turned up for the physical classes on May 1. And it was back to that familiar feelings of fellowship with the teachers and and classmates instead of via the virtual platform.

On May 8 - being Mother's Day celebration - the children joined in the Main Worship Service before they adjourned to Room B101 for a group activity. Since the teachers were given a much needed break (and many of them are mothers as well), Elder Lee Yee Dian took charge of the group activity.

The children were required to colour the flags of different countries - and in this tech savvy world the handphones and tablets came in handy to find out the colours of the country flag. After that task, the children were given black and white flags of the same countries.

By clipping the top edges of the black and white flags and the bottom edges of coloured flags, the children were able to create a magic book on the Flags of Asia. Flip the top edges and the black and white flags appear. Flip the bottom edges, the coloured flags show up.

It will be a Christmas to remember for our Sunday School children. Despite not being able to gather physically for the annual SS Christmas celebration, our SS teachers and children still had a wonderful time during the virtual Dec 19 celebration on Zoom platform.

Our favourite magician Uncle David Lim who entertained the children during the 2018 Christmas party, was just as entertaining on screen. From pulling a magic wand out of a purse to transforming a blank page into a colourful one, David kept the kids spellbound. Of course, he explained that he doesn’t possess magic power but only does magic tricks.

Most importantly, he used tricks such as a string and red paper heart to convey the Christmas message of HOPE – that if you believe in Jesus, He can take away your sins, and the Best Present from God is Jesus, our Hope.

Beside the magic show, the children were also asked to guess the names of the carols which were played in foreign languages.

During the Christmas Day main worship services (Dec 25 and 26), our SS children and the youth performed a musical video on “It’s a Christmas Medley” composed of favourite songs Away in a Manger, It’s Christmas, and Go Tell It on the Mountain.

It's Christmas soon! Yes we can feel it in the air .... anticipating the joy and excitement that this season brings every year.

It's been our Sunday School tradition to end the year with a big Christmas party packed with activities - a time of group worship and praise, reliving the Christmas story, special musical items and even magic shows during the past Christmas events.

This year, we are going to Bring on the Magic again! Come and join us over Zoom on Dec 19 (see flyer below). Our favourite
magician David Lim will keep you spellbound with more tricks up his sleeve and from his bag of secrets.
