As the head of the quality control department in my company, I faced challenges with one of my subordinates who consistently opposed me. Her attitude and discipline often caused headaches, and I struggled to manage the situation effectively. However, my two other subordinates were supportive and cooperative, and I relied on them to cover the work of the problematic employee.
One day, she refused the work that I assigned to her and the situation escalated into an unpleasant incident which made me very angry. I discussed the situation with my superior and the factory manager, but the latter refused to transfer her to another department.
At my wit’s end, I prayed for guidance and wisdom from God. The next day, I spoke to her again, and she responded angrily at first, but then broke down and cried. I learned that she had misunderstood something I said when I first took over the department, and I explained the situation. We reconciled, and she apologized to me. Thanks to God's intervention, the problem was resolved without the intervention of the HR department. Later, when one of my supportive subordinates found a new job, the reconciled employee stepped up to fill the gap.
Reflecting on the experience, I realized that God's will is higher than mine, and His ways are higher than my ways. I am grateful for the guidance of His Word and the wisdom He provides to those who ask. Despite my limitations, God is a God of wisdom, and I am thankful for His grace, protection, and help.
James 1:5 “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”
