On 15 September, the newly built Wesley Methodist Church Mukah (WMCM, a none official name) celebrated the installation of three crosses—at the main entrance, on the rooftop, and in the sanctuary. The service was officiated by SCAC President Dr. Lau Hui Ming, along with WMC pastors, speakers, and dedicated volunteers, together with nearly 250 longhouse members and 50 representatives from WMC and WCMC, who gathered to witness this meaningful and historic moment.

The Longhouse Ministry, which began in 2002, now marks its 23rd year of faithful service, ministering to 19 longhouses thus far. On average, around 150 adults and 70 children have been faithfully gathering on first and third Saturday ( twice a month) for worship.

We humbly ask for your prayers, that once all necessary permits and approvals are secured, we will begin holding weekly Sunday worship service at WMCM for the indigenous communities in the Selangau–Mukah area.

On 11th May at Wesley Methodist Church, we celebrated Parent Sunday, a heartfelt occasion to honor and appreciate all the wonderful parents among us.

Every parent received a gift of love, and our elderly parents were specially blessed with an extra token of appreciation. Their love, wisdom, and prayers continue to shape the generations to come.

Rev. Samuel Law from the Methodist Theological School preached a sermon titled "The What and How About Honouring Our Parents," based on Proverbs 23:22, 24–25 and 29:15. In his message, he explored both the meaning and practical ways of honouring one's parents in today's context. He highlighted that in today’s world, beyond verbal corrections, the most effective and practical way to teach our children is by modelling the behaviour we wish to see in them—so they can learn through our example.

17 Apr 2025 - We held a combined Maundy Thursday service for both our Mandarin(WCMC) and English(WMC) speaking congregations. The evening began with a reflection on the Seder Plate, guided by Exodus 12, followed by hymns and responsive prayers.

Rev. James Lau preached from Matthew 26:23 on a sermon entitled The Absent Presence. Through the account of Judas’ betrayal of Jesus, he reminded us to examine our hearts—to avoid falling into the trap of habitual piety: being physically present with Jesus, yet absent in heart.

Before partaking in Holy Communion, we were urged to ask God for the strength to forgive those we find difficult to forgive.

Reflection Questions:
1. Is your piety—your respect and love for God—genuine, or has it become a habit or a performance?

2. Where does Jesus truly rank in your heart?

3. Are you one of those followers who are present in body, yet absent in spirit?

A Foretaste of Asbury Outpouring at Wesley Methodist Church Sibu ( 22 March 2025)

It was a night of divine encounter as Prof. Rob Lim from Asbury University shared a powerful message, stirring the hearts of Gen Z with a renewed hunger for God. Alongside him, Dr. Steve Seamands (joining online) reminded us of the urgent call to minister to the Z Generation.

The presence of God was tangible—some young people were crying, kneeling, and seeking prayer as the Spirit moved among us.

Though floods and obstacles kept some away, nothing could hinder the hunger for revival burning in the hearts of this generation.

🔹 Radical Humility, A Return to Holiness
🔹 Holy Spirit fills, human spirit fails
🔹 All our efforts are inadequate without Him

This was more than just a gathering—it was an extended impact of the Asbury Outpouring, a call to repentance that leads to revival that we must not ignore. May this be just the beginning.

Celebrating 140 Years of God’s Grace in Sarawak!

On February 23, 2025, the celebration commemorating the 140th Anniversary of Methodism in Malaysia took place at Masland Methodist Church, Sibu, with 1,302 attendees and over 700 online viewers joining in this historic occasion.

A highlight of the celebration was the inspiring performances that reflected the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of Sarawak’s Methodist community. From the Ngajat dance by the Iban sisters to the powerful 150-member combined choir, the event was filled with thanksgiving and hope for the future.

We are especially proud of our Evening Choir, who presented the beautiful anthem "Today We Celebrate Our Faith". Their heartfelt performance was a fitting tribute to this milestone, reminding us to reflect on God’s faithfulness in the past, embrace His presence in the present, and move forward in faith into the future.

As we commemorate 140 years of Methodist missions, may we continue to shine Christ’s light and bring His love to our communities. To God be the glory!

🎄 Throwback to Our Christmas Day Worship Service 2024! 🌟

What a wonderful time we had celebrating the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ, at Wei Kuok Hall on December 25, 2024! The atmosphere was filled with joy, worship, and heartfelt fellowship as we came together as one family in Christ.

We were especially blessed to welcome returnees who traveled from near and far, visitors exploring our church, and new friends joining us for the first time. Your presence made the celebration even more special, and we’re so grateful to have shared this beautiful day with you.

As we reflect on this joyous occasion, we want to remind you that our doors are always open. We hope to see you again soon!
