Nottingham Buddhist Society - Malaysia

Nottingham Buddhist Society - Malaysia Providing education for the youth based on the Dhamma; the teachings of the Buddha. Our objectives are:
1. To deepen the member’s knowledge about the Dhamma.
2.

Nottingham Buddhist Society was formally established as a society under the University of Nottingham, Malaysia Campus on the 11th November 2009. The idea of Nottingham Buddhist Society stemmed from a group of Buddhist youth with a passion to provide a platform for their fellow university mates to learn and benefit from the teachings of the Buddha. The drive of catering to those who wish to underst

and more, or to increase their knowledge in Buddhism has been passed down and that has now become the main vision of this society; to provide a Buddhist education. To instil Buddhist values and culture

As the basis of our society is education, our motto is, "Educating for a change". The colour yellow is the official colour of our society as it represents light. With the light of wisdom, it dispels the darkness of ignorance.

Helloooo everyone! 🌿✨

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for our meaningful Level-Up Camp at Dhamma Earth KL. 🏕️💛

Over these few days, we stepped out of our routines and into nature — embracing challenges through hiking, connecting with one another during fellowship night, and deepening our understanding through Dhamma learning sessions, meditation, and chanting.

Through every activity, we were reminded of the importance of building our adversity quotient, cultivating resilience, and finding strength within ourselves and the community around us. These shared experiences created space for growth, reflection, and genuine connection. 🌱

Nottingham Buddhist Society extends our sincere gratitude to all committee members, facilitators, and participants who made this camp so special and memorable. Your presence and energy truly brought this journey to life. 🙏

Thank you once again for being part of this enriching experience. Let’s continue to carry forward what we’ve learned and grow together on this path. We can’t wait to see you at our upcoming events!

Hello everyone! 🤗

A big thank you to everyone who joined our Spring semester event, ”Introduction to Buddhism“! 📸 We hope you had a meaningful experience and left feeling inspired.✨

During the session, we explored ways to let go of stress and manage expectations. One participant shared how instead of stressing over grades, they chose to stay calm, while another gave a lighthearted example: when they couldn’t get honey sweet potatoes, they simply switched to taro instead! 😄
We also discussed our future plans after graduation. Bhante asked whether we’d continue studies or look for jobs, and most participants mentioned aiming for high-paying jobs, while a few shared plans like continuing with a PhD. This led to reflections on what really motivates us and how our choices align with our values. Finally, we touched on practical tips for daily life, learning how small mindset shifts can help us stay positive and peaceful 🧘‍♀️💭.

Don’t forget, we have a meditation session next Monday, 6th April – hope to see you there! 🕊️
