BRINGING HOME CATHOLICs (BHC) PROGRAM
Gereja Katolik, OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE (OLOG), di Puchong, Selangor telah memulakan satu program keluarga angkat pelajar katolik yang dinamakan Bringing Home Catholics, BHC yang direka khas untuk pelajar katolik khususnya yang berasal daripada Sabah dan Sarawak yang akan melanjutkan pelajaran di Semenanjung Malaysia dan inginkan penyesuaian diri dengan baik ke
dalam kehidupan kampus walaupun berada jauh dari kampung halaman. Objektif program ini adalah untuk mengukuhkan iman katolik selain daripada memberi sokongan emosi kepada pelajar tersebut. Program ini juga akan menyediakan pelajar tersebut dengan rakan-rakan sesama katolik dan juga Suasana Rumah semasa Jauh dari kampung halaman supaya pelajar tersebut mempunyai tempat rujukan pada bila-bila masa mereka memerlukannya terutama berkenaan dengan isu berbangkit di kampus, pertukaran agama dan juga penjagaan iman katolik mereka sewaktu di berada Semenanjung Malaysia. Sebagai makluman, semua keluarga angkat yang bersetuju menyertai program ini adalah atas dasar sukarela. Oleh itu, kami berharap agar para pelajar juga akan turut menyertai program ini secara sukarela. The Catholic Church of OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE (OLOG), Puchong, Selangor has created the Bringing Home Catholics Program. This is a Host Family Program designed to help Catholic students from Sabah and Sarawak coming to Peninsular to study, to a better adjustment to campus life away from their home. The focus of the program is in strengthening their catholic faith and also giving them emotional support. This Program provides them with Catholic Friends and some sense of a Home away from Home so that they will have a focal point to refer to whenever they need guidance pertaining to campus issue, conversion to other religion and maintenance of the faith life in Peninsular Malaysia. Therefore in order for us to achieve the objective, hosting the students from Sabah and Sarawak is a good way to start. Participating families will host the students for a few days before their registration day at college and followed by weekend stay if the host family feels comfortable in doing so. However, this does not mean that the students will live permanently in the host family homes. In this program, the hosting family is required to always keep in touch with the student by inviting them to stay with them over a weekend, public holiday or during the semester break. This is to ensure that the student has settled down with their campus life and also maintained their Catholic faith. For new students, during the college/university orientation week, they will normally remain in campus and do not live with host family. However, hosting family should be ready to assist the student when needed. For any inquiry please contact us at:
