Day 1 & 2 Qing Ming-Jangchok Prayers. About Buddha Akshobhya. Around 2,600 years ago, Lord Buddha himself at Rajgriha on Vulture’s Peak Mountain foretold the coming of Buddha Akshobhya in Abhirati Realm. He extolled his great perseverance and unassailable patience in actualizing his great vow to remain undisturbed by any negative aggression towards any sentient being until he attained full enlightenment. So powerful was his enlightened determination that countless beings including animals have been liberated. Buddha Akshobhya is aka The Dharma King of 3 Worlds, Protector of all mother sentient beings as limitless as space, Main Purification Deity for defilements, negativities and obscurations in past, present and future mind streams. He is one of the Five Wisdom Buddhas, the embodiment of “Mirror-like Wisdom” white, shining, clear, transparent that transforms all forms of anger and hatred. His brilliance illuminates the darkness of ignorance and its sharpness cuts through confusion. Depicted in blue, this color symbolizes clear water reflecting things as they are. His seed syllable is “Hung” and his earth touching gesture is the epitome of sheer determination and confidence in attaining Enlightenment. It’s stated in the Sutras that Lord Buddha’s teaching will remain in this world for 3,000-5,000 years. But in Buddha Akshobhya’s Pure Land the lifetime will remain longer than other Pure Lands for a million Great Kalpas. Buddha Akshobhya’s manifestation, the Great Lord Taklung Thangpa Chenpo Tashi Pal mentioned that upon his Parinibbana, he will be reborn in the Eastern Pure Land & requested his followers to make aspirations to be reborn in the Eastern Pure Land. He also mentioned that he will appear to those who are devoted and have close affinity with him.
