Today, the Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity—the mystery of one God in three Divine Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Did you know?
☘️ Tradition tells us that St. Patrick used a shamrock to help explain the Trinity: three leaves, yet one plant.
🔺 The triangle became an early Christian symbol of the Trinity, representing three equal Persons united in one God.
☩ The ancient Trinity Knot (Triquetra) symbolizes the eternal and inseparable unity of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
🛡️ The Shield of the Trinity (Scutum Fidei), a medieval Christian symbol, visually expresses the Church's teaching that the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God—yet the Father is not the Son, the Son is not the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit is not the Father.
While these symbols help us reflect on the mystery of the Trinity, they can never fully capture the greatness of God. Today, we give praise to the Triune God, a communion of perfect love, who calls us into a deeper relationship with Him and with one another.
"In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen." ❤️
