Bandar Utama Buddhist Society "A Dhamma inspired community in the heart of Petaling Jaya" It all began in 1999.

From the seed of an idea amongst some residents of Bandar Utama grew a project to build a centre for Buddhist practice to serve the new township. To take on the project, Bandar Utama Buddhist Society was registered on 28 March 2000. As a Buddhist society guided by the Theravada Buddhist tradition, BUBS teach and practise the Buddha-Dhamma as recorded in the Pali Canon. Our activities are steered b

y our vision of developing Dhamma-inspired members and propagating the Buddha-Dhamma in the community. Our tagline β€œA family that prays together stays together” aptly encapsulates our aspiration of providing a conducive place for Buddhist families, the old and the young, to congregate and grow in the Dhamma.

Biography
Ven. Vimuttadhammika was ordained at the Sasanarakkha Buddhist Sanctuary in Taiping, Perak, in 2020, with Venerable Ariyadhammika as his preceptor. He has spent time in Malaysia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, and Europe, staying in various monasteries of different traditions. He endeavors to translate the maps and instructions found in the suttas and contemporary traditions into the lived experience and realization of the Dhamma.

Biography:

Dr. Wong Teck Wee is currently a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist and Physician at a private medical centre in Kuala Lumpur. Prior to this, he served as an Associate Professor of Medicine at UPM and Hospital Serdang, and was previously the head of the cardiology unit at UPM. An aspiring Buddhist practitioner, Dr. Wong also holds a strong interest in environmental wellness.
