Malaysia Hindu Sangam Malaysia Hindu Sangam (MHS), the representative body of Hindus in Malaysia, established in 1965, is involved in a number of activities & programmes.

Malaysia Hindu Sangam (MHS) is the only organization that the government of Malaysia consults on matters affecting the Hindu community in this country. It is also a member of the Malaysian Consultative Council of Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism and Taoism (MCCBCHST) since 1984. MCCBCHST is composed primarily of officials from the main non-Muslim faith communities in Malaysia and acts as

a consultative and liaison body towards more open dialogue and co-operation. The main objective of Malaysian Hindu Sangam are:-

To co-ordinate Hindu religious activities;
To undertake religious education; and
To represent the Hindu community at National and International level. MISSION
To bring together and develop the interests of Hindu temples and organisations for the creation of outstanding Malaysian Hindus. MHS is governed by a board of directors known as the Central Council of 27 elected members. MHS has appointed State Councils in all 14 states in Malaysia and 120 Local Councils at the district level. As the apex body for Malaysian Hindus, MHS is guided by the Hindu Advisory Board formed under its Articles of Association. The objective of the board is to determine all issues relevant to Hinduism and to advice the Central Council on the implementation or carrying out of the Objects of Malaysia Hindu Sangam. The members of the Advisory Board are appointed from among the major Hindu temples and main Hindu organizations, such as the Divine Life Society, Ramakrishna Mission, Malaysian Gurukal Sangam, ISCKON, and others.
