On 30 August 2025, BEC Tropicana St Joseph joined 2 other BECs (St Helena SS22 and St Valentine SS22) for a pilgrimage to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Port Dickson, fostering unity and spiritual renewal among Catholic communities. Coordinated by Francis, Susie, and Dr Calvin, eight pilgrims from BEC Tropicana St Joseph participated, embracing the call to confession and Holy Eucharist to receive plenary indulgences in this Jubilee Year. Welcomed by over 20 volunteers, the group supported the church’s fundraising efforts for a new catechism block through merchandise purchases and love offerings by each BEC.
The church, founded in 1902, showcased its rich history, priestly lineage, and parishioner-created stained glass and artwork. A unique rosary path encircled the compound, with color-coded beads symbolizing repentance, faith, hope, formation, and love. Pilgrims carried a stone representing personal burdens, later surrendered to Mother Mary, and they had the option to walk with a staff, echoing Moses.
Mass led by Father Sin Wee centered on the parable of the talents, urging all to share their gifts. A candlelit procession followed, presenting petitions and themed candles, culminating in Eucharistic adoration. The BECs gifted RM200 ang pows for the new building fund and sponsored 32 SIC t-shirts to the volunteers. The day ended with seaside lunch fellowship and some time with nature, taking in the sights at Blue Lagoon. The pilgrimage was a spiritually enriching journey of faith, unity, and gratitude.
