Paul and his team had a clear plan. They stepped out in faith. And yet door after door was shut by the Holy Spirit himself. No Asia. No Bithynia. Just silence and redirection.🛑
But that's exactly how the gospel reached Europe. 🌍

If you're exploring the path of missions and things aren't opening up the way you expected — you haven't necessarily missed God. 🙏 He may be redirecting you to something better, building your character in the waiting, or simply asking you to trust His timing over your timeline.⏳

Closed doors aren't the opposite of God's will. Sometimes they're the first step toward it.✨

🩺 Happy International Nurses Day💉

Today we honour nurses and medical workers who serve with compassion, courage, and sacrifice around the world.

We also remember the pioneers who laid the foundation for Interserve's medical mission more than 150 years ago, and all who continue to serve today in places of great need.

In 1871, a Scottish missionary challenged the Zenana Mission Committee to begin medical ministry among women in India — at a time when women doctors were almost unheard of. In fact, there were only two female doctors in Britain.

The need was urgent. Many women in India living in the zenanas could not be treated by male doctors. Two women were privately trained and sent out as medical missionaries. One died on the journey. The other died shortly after arriving.

Yet the mission continued.

In 1876, Miss Bielby arrived as the only female medical missionary in India at the time. She started a nursing clinic and trained Indian nurses. A Maharani once told her: “It is not enough to have nurses. Ask Queen Victoria for women doctors.”

Against all odds, that request was granted.

By 1880, the work became known as the Zenana Bible and Medical Mission (ZBMM). Hospitals were opened, leprosy work began, and medical training schools were established. Soon, Indian women doctors joined the movement.

What began in sacrifice became a legacy of healing, dignity, and hope.

The story continues…
Healing the sick is still a mission.
The call is still urgent.

On the Cross, Jesus cried out, “It is finished.” The debt was paid. The bridge was built. The victory over death was won. But while the work of Salvation is complete, the task of Proclamation remains.

His "finished work" on Calvary is the fuel for our "unfinished task" in the world.

However, over 3 billion people—nearly 40% of the global population—still don't have access to the story of the Cross. They aren’t just distant; they are waiting for an invitation to the hope we’ve already found.

Jesus didn’t just save us to keep us safe; He saved us to send us. He finished the work of redemption so that we could carry the news of it to every corner of the earth.

As the Father sent Him, He now sends us (John 20:21).

Today, don’t just remember the Cross—respond to it. 🕊️🌍
