*Penang Hindu Sabah's "One Tree One Life: 111 Tree Planting Program" Commemorates 111th Anniversary*

In conjunction with the 111th anniversary of Penang Hindu Sabah, a momentous event took place that not only celebrated this historic milestone but also contributed significantly to the state's environmental goals. Penang Hindu Sabah, with the valued support of Penang State Environmental EXCO, Penang City Council, Penang Hill Corporation, and Penang State Forestry Department, organized the "One Tree One Life: 111 Tree Planting Program."

The event, graced by Penang State Governor TYT Tuan Yang Di-Pertua Negeri Pulau Pinang Tun Dato' Seri Utama Ahmad Fuzi bin Haji Abdul Razak, saw the participation of esteemed dignitaries such as YB Lim Guan Eng (former Chief Minister of Penang), YB Dato' Seri Sundarajoo a/l Somu (Environment and Housing EXCO), YB Senator Dr. Lingeshwaran a/l Dato Seri R. Arunasalam, Dato' Ir. Rajendran a/l P. Anthony (Penang City Mayor), Dato' Cheok Lay Leng (General Manager of Penang Hill Corporation), and Mr. Muhammad Ezhar B. Yusuf (Penang State Forestry Director).

Mr. Kirubanandan, in his inspiring address, highlighted the program's dual purpose: to commemorate the 111th anniversary of Penang Hindu Sabah and to raise funds for its community outreach programs. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to Shan Poornam Group of Companies for their generous sponsorship, as well as all other donors. Mr. Kirubanandan extended his appreciation to the Penang Hill Residence Association, The Habitat Penang Hill, Penang Hill Buggy Service providers, and David Brown Restaurant for their invaluable support.

YB Dato' Seri Sundarajoo, in his impactful speech, emphasized the program's alignment with the Penang 2030 Vision. Penang State aspires to plant 600,000 plants by the year 2030, and this tree planting initiative represents a significant step towards that goal.

The event was marked by joyous family activities centered around tree planting, symbolizing a commitment to a greener future. Notably, the Penang State Governor personally planted a tree, signifying the official commencement of the program.

Individuals or organizations wishing to contribute to this noble cause by planting a tree are encouraged to get in touch with Mr. Shivaneash (012 510 0916) from Penang Hindu Sabah.

This event not only celebrates the rich heritage of Penang Hindu Sabah but also underscores the community's commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable development, echoing the broader vision for the future of Penang.

Penang Hindu Sabah Launches 1 Tree, 1 Life: 111 Tree Planting Program in Conjunction with its 111th Anniversary

Penang Hindu Sabah, a leading non-government organization in Penang, is proud to announce the launch of its ground breaking initiative, the "1 Tree, 1 Life: 111 Tree Planting Program," to commemorate the organization's 111th anniversary. The program is supported by the Penang State Environmental EXCO, Penang Hill Corporation, Forestry Department of Penang, and Penang Island City Council.

The 1 Tree, 1 Life: 111 Tree Planting Program aims to foster environmental conservation and sustainable practices by planting 111 trees on Penang Hill, a cherished natural heritage site. This is in line with the recognition of Penang Hill as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve site since 15 September 2021 under the UNESCO Man and the Biosphere Programme. This program not only allows Penang Hindu Sabah to honour our organization's long-standing commitment to the community but also provides an avenue for individuals and organizations to actively contribute towards a greener and more sustainable Penang in line with Penang 2030 vision.

This event, scheduled on September 30, 2023, will bring together sponsors, donors, and participants to contribute towards the greening of Penang and ensuring a better future for generations to come.
The program offers a unique opportunity for individuals and organizations to actively participate in the preservation of Penang's ecosystem. Each tree planted during the event will carry a personalized plaque featuring the name of the respective sponsor, donor, or participant. This symbolic gesture allows individuals to leave a lasting legacy in the form of a thriving tree, which will continue to provide numerous benefits to the environment and the community for years to come.

Penang Hindu Sabah invites sponsors, donors, and participants from all backgrounds and communities to join hands in this noble cause. By contributing RM1,000 per tree, individuals and organizations can make a significant impact in restoring and conserving Penang's natural beauty. Funds raised through this initiative will be utilized to support ongoing environmental conservation projects, including habitat restoration and awareness campaigns.

Penang Hindu Sabah expresses its gratitude to the Penang State Environmental EXCO, Penang Hill Corporation, Forestry Department of Penang, and Penang Island City Council for their support to this program. Their collaboration reinforces the shared vision of creating a harmonious and environmentally conscious society.

Penang Hindu Sabah also would like to thank Shan Poornam Metal Sdn. Bhd. for being the main sponsor of the event. This is part of their continuous CSR program for the community in general.

To become a sponsor, donor, or participant in the 1 Tree, 1 Life: 111 Tree Planting Program, contact the Mr. Shivaneash the Program Director at 012 510 0916. Together, let us sow the seeds of a sustainable future for Penang.

These fruitful conversations between DUN Komtar temple representatives and State government officials: YB Lim Hui Ying (Tanjong MP), YB Tei Lai Heng (ADUN Komtar), Ts. Kaliyappan (MBPP Councillor) and Mr. Paul Au (HARMONICO GM) have opened up a world of possibilities and brought about numerous benefits for our community. Here are some key reasons why this initiative is incredibly important:

Representation: Through these discussions, our temple now has a direct channel to voice the concerns, needs, and aspirations of our community to the State government. This means that our voices are being heard, and our opinions are being considered when important decisions are being made.

Collaboration: By building bridges with State government representatives, we can foster collaboration between our temple and the government. This paves the way for joint initiatives, such as community development projects, cultural festivals, and awareness campaigns that greatly benefit our neighborhood.

Resources and Support: Engaging with the State government gives us access to valuable resources, funding opportunities, and support. This can help enhance the infrastructure of our temple, improve community services, and promote cultural activities that bring people together.

Policy Influence: Having a presence in discussions with State government representatives allows us to shape policies that directly impact our community. We can provide insights, perspectives, and suggestions that can influence decisions related to religious freedom, cultural preservation, and community welfare.

Mutual Understanding: By engaging in dialogues, both our temple representatives and State government officials can gain a deeper understanding of each other's perspectives, concerns, and priorities. This helps to foster empathy, cooperation, and mutual respect, which are crucial for building a harmonious and inclusive society.

We are incredibly grateful for this opportunity to engage with our State government representatives, and we personally thank the participation from the temples from DUN KOMTAR. Special thanks to Mr. Gunathan Palrajah for heading the Organizing Committee. Together, we can create positive change, preserve our heritage, and ensure a bright future for generations to come. 🌍❤️
