*Penang Hindu Sabah's "One Tree One Life: 111 Tree Planting Program" Commemorates 111th Anniversary*
In conjunction with the 111th anniversary of Penang Hindu Sabah, a momentous event took place that not only celebrated this historic milestone but also contributed significantly to the state's environmental goals. Penang Hindu Sabah, with the valued support of Penang State Environmental EXCO, Penang City Council, Penang Hill Corporation, and Penang State Forestry Department, organized the "One Tree One Life: 111 Tree Planting Program."
The event, graced by Penang State Governor TYT Tuan Yang Di-Pertua Negeri Pulau Pinang Tun Dato' Seri Utama Ahmad Fuzi bin Haji Abdul Razak, saw the participation of esteemed dignitaries such as YB Lim Guan Eng (former Chief Minister of Penang), YB Dato' Seri Sundarajoo a/l Somu (Environment and Housing EXCO), YB Senator Dr. Lingeshwaran a/l Dato Seri R. Arunasalam, Dato' Ir. Rajendran a/l P. Anthony (Penang City Mayor), Dato' Cheok Lay Leng (General Manager of Penang Hill Corporation), and Mr. Muhammad Ezhar B. Yusuf (Penang State Forestry Director).
Mr. Kirubanandan, in his inspiring address, highlighted the program's dual purpose: to commemorate the 111th anniversary of Penang Hindu Sabah and to raise funds for its community outreach programs. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to Shan Poornam Group of Companies for their generous sponsorship, as well as all other donors. Mr. Kirubanandan extended his appreciation to the Penang Hill Residence Association, The Habitat Penang Hill, Penang Hill Buggy Service providers, and David Brown Restaurant for their invaluable support.
YB Dato' Seri Sundarajoo, in his impactful speech, emphasized the program's alignment with the Penang 2030 Vision. Penang State aspires to plant 600,000 plants by the year 2030, and this tree planting initiative represents a significant step towards that goal.
The event was marked by joyous family activities centered around tree planting, symbolizing a commitment to a greener future. Notably, the Penang State Governor personally planted a tree, signifying the official commencement of the program.
Individuals or organizations wishing to contribute to this noble cause by planting a tree are encouraged to get in touch with Mr. Shivaneash (012 510 0916) from Penang Hindu Sabah.
This event not only celebrates the rich heritage of Penang Hindu Sabah but also underscores the community's commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable development, echoing the broader vision for the future of Penang.
