Located in Taman Bukit Anggerik Cheras, Sukha Dhamma School was set up by Ti-Ratana Buddhist Society to help students and adults acquire a general knowledge of the fundamental teachings of Buddha thru various interactive classes and other activities

Another wonderful weekend filled with creativity, gratitude, and Dhamma learning! โœจ

Our students got hands-on in the kitchen making Muah Cheeโ€”a traditional, chewy glutinous rice delicacy similar to Japanese mochi. But they added a special twist: wrapping sweet fresh fruit inside before tossing them in crushed peanuts and sugar! Delicious and fun! ๐Ÿ“๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ˜‹

Our younger learners spent the session crafting heartfelt gratitude gift cards, coloring beautiful illustrations and writing sweet blessings inside:

Last Sunday, our Sukha Dhamma School family had an absolute blast exploring two amazing hidden gems!

๐Ÿ„ ๐Ÿ• ๐’๐ญ๐š๐ซ๐ฌ ๐Œ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ก๐ซ๐จ๐จ๐ฆ ๐…๐š๐ซ๐ฆ (๐’๐ž๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ฒ๐ข๐ก)

We kicked off our morning learning about mushroom cultivation, technology, and freshness! Did you know that the strong "mushroom smell" we often encounter is actually a sign that mushrooms are no longer fresh? Learning techniques adapted from Taiwan, this farm produces fresh mushrooms with no unpleasant odor!

We toured the cultivation facility and even tried our hands at harvesting mushrooms. After that, we had a delicious mushroom soup and crispy fried pearl mushroomsโ€”our students finished every last bit! ๐Ÿฅฃ๐Ÿ˜‹

๐Ÿ‡ ๐‘๐š๐›๐›๐ข๐ญ ๐…๐ฎ๐ง ๐‹๐š๐ง๐ (๐‹๐ž๐ง๐ ๐ ๐ž๐ง๐ )

After enjoying a wholesome lunch, we headed into an action-packed afternoon:

๐Ÿฃ ๐‚๐ฎ๐๐๐ฅ๐ž ๐“๐ข๐ฆ๐ž: Holding fluffy chicks and gentle rabbits was an absolute highlight.
๐Ÿฅ› ๐…๐š๐ซ๐ฆ ๐‹๐ข๐Ÿ๐ž: We learned how to milk a cow, dug up fresh potatoes and carrots, and teamed up for an energetic game of tug-of-war! ๐Ÿ’ช
๐ŸŸ ๐…๐ฎ๐ง & ๐†๐š๐ฆ๐ž๐ฌ: The younger kids had a blast catching longkang fish and splashing in the pool, while the older ones conquered the hanging bridge!
๐Ÿช‚ ๐“๐ก๐ž ๐‚๐ฅ๐ข๐ฆ๐š๐ฑ: Every student under 12 got to experience the thrill of the mini flying fox! We rounded off the adventure with sweet ice cream treats. ๐Ÿฆโœจ

Following our wonderful Dhammacakka Day & Vassa Robe Offering celebration, Sukha Dhamma School was back in full session this past Sunday!

We were blessed to have Ven. Padmawansa Thero and Ven. Dammissara Thero lead our morning Pลซjฤ session while Ven. Hemaloka was away. During class, our students engaged with an inspiring animated story on the life of the Buddha, discovering meaningful moral values to apply in their daily lives. ๐ŸŽฌ

Special thanks to our hardworking Refreshment Team for preparing delicious Chee Cheong Fun for everyone this week! Your dedication keeps our school nourished and joyful. ๐Ÿœ

On a side note, Ven. Hemaloka extends his heartfelt thanks to everyone who stepped forward to assist when his car broke down. The car is now safely restored, allowing Reverend to travel safely and with peace of mind to continue his vital Dhamma work. ๐Ÿš—

In his opening address, Chief Venerable shared insights into the significance of the Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta, emphasizing that the Buddha delivered two profound core teachings in his first sermon:

He expressed his deep appreciation for the SDS video clip honouring him, after which students, staff, and volunteers came together for the cake-cutting ceremony to sing birthday wishes in four languages: the Buddhist & International Birthday Songs in English, Chinese, Malay, and Vietnamese.

I am deeply grateful to ๐•๐ž๐ง. ๐ƒ๐ซ. ๐‘๐ž๐ฐ๐š๐ญ๐ก๐š ๐“๐ก๐ž๐ซ๐š, ๐•๐ž๐ง. ๐’๐š๐๐๐ก๐š๐ง๐š๐ง๐๐š ๐“๐ก๐ž๐ซ๐š, and ๐•๐ž๐ง. ๐๐š๐๐ฆ๐š๐ฐ๐š๐ง๐ฌ๐š ๐“๐ก๐ž๐ซ๐จ for leading the recitation of the ๐˜‹๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ฎ๐˜ฎ๐˜ข๐˜ค๐˜ข๐˜ฌ๐˜ฌ๐˜ข๐˜ฑ๐˜ฑ๐˜ข๐˜ท๐˜ข๐˜ต๐˜ต๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ข ๐˜š๐˜ถ๐˜ต๐˜ต๐˜ข, as well as the Sri Lankan dancer and drummers for invoking the blessings of the devas to rejoice in the chanting. A special note of gratitude goes to ๐’๐ข๐Ÿ๐ฎ ๐…๐š ๐™๐ก๐ข and her team for preparing the scrumptious breakfast and lunch dฤna, as well as ๐’๐ข๐ฌ ๐€๐ง๐  ๐‹๐ข๐ก ๐‹๐ข๐ก and all parents, staff, and friends who coordinated and joined in the offering of cooked rice.
