The Society of St. SSVP was founded in 1833 by Frederic Ozanam. On 25th April 2015, the Conference of St Joseph Miri was officially launched.

Vincent de Paul is a worldwide Catholic organization of lay people, open to all who wish to live their faith by loving and serving their neighbors. The Society of St Vincent de Paul (SSVP) is an international Catholic voluntary organization dedicated to the sanctification of its members through serving the poor and disadvantaged. The first conference in Malaysia was formed in Penang, 1934 and to-date there are 62 conferences nationwide with over 900 members. Vincentians have since visited and provided assistance to several families in need. A thrift shop has also been set up and started operations on 31st Jan 2016 to help raise funds for sustaining the society's activities.

SSVP Miri extends our heartfelt appreciation to RIA Education Team for their generous donation of RM20,000 in conjunction with their 2026 National Charity Day.

With this year’s theme, “Little Hearts, Big Love,” it is especially meaningful to see young hearts being encouraged to take part in acts of charity from an early age. This initiative not only provides much needed support to those in need, but also nurtures compassion, kindness, and a spirit of giving among the next generation.

The contribution will go a long way in supporting our ongoing efforts in assisting families, individuals that are facing financial hardship in our community.

We are truly grateful for RIA Education Team for their continued support and commitment towards making a positive impact.

This Lent, let us turn compassion into action.

The SSVP Food Pantry is collecting essential food and household items to support families in need within our community. Your small act of giving can bring comfort, dignity, and hope to those who are struggling.

Items needed:
• Noodles
• Rice
• Eggs
• Sugar
• Salt
• Flour
• Tea / Coffee
• Canned Food
• Biscuits
• Cooking Oil
• Seasoning
• Detergent
• Diapers for adults and children

📍 Drop-off Locations (29 March 2026, 7:00 AM – 12:15 PM):
• St. Joseph’s Cathedral
• Church of Mater Dei Lutong
• St. Francis of Assisi (Carmelite Chapel)
• St. Dominic’s Church, Taman Tunku

Every donation, big or small, helps us reach out to the poor and underprivileged in our community.

Your kindness and generosity have brought hope and joy to those we serve, helping us provide for their daily needs.

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, we will be organizing our fundraising food sale on Sunday, 25/5/2025 at St Joseph’s Cathedral and Church of Mater Dei. Come and support us from 7am to 12noon! All proceeds go to the needy.
