Bishop Richard Ng will be making a Pastoral Visit to St. Michaelโ€™s Parish, Batu Niah on September 26, 2026 (Saturday) celebrating sunset mass at 6pm.

After mass there will be a Potluck Fellowship Dinner to celebrate the 50th Jubilee of the Miri Diocese at the parish level.

Let us all come together to give thanks to God for the blessings of our local church.

The Inter-Parish Badminton competition for Miri Zone was held on 29th August , with a total of 8 teams competing!

Congratulations to all the teams for their sportsmanship and effort ๐Ÿ‘

The winner from Miri Zone will move on to the Final on 3rd October at KRP (Kelab Rekreasi Petroleum), where they'll face off against Bintulu Zone.

The Perjalanan Salib began its journey on 9th April 2025, visiting 14 parishes and longhouses across the Diocese of Miri. On 31st August, it closed with a mass as the cross made its way to Sibu for MPC โ€” where all 9 crosses will come together.

The Perjalanan Salib journey came to a meaningful close on 31st August 2026 with the Miri Youth Day Closing Mass, gathering around 800 youth in celebration and faith at St Dominic and The Rosary Church in Taman Tunku. The Mass was celebrated by Bishop Richard Ng.

In his homily, Bishop Richard reminded all present that true victory comes not from avoiding pain and suffering, but from embracing it with love.

He posed powerful questions to the youth: ๐ด๐‘Ÿ๐‘’ ๐‘ค๐‘’ ๐‘ค๐‘–๐‘™๐‘™๐‘–๐‘›๐‘” ๐‘ก๐‘œ ๐‘ก๐‘Ž๐‘˜๐‘’ ๐‘ข๐‘ ๐‘œ๐‘ข๐‘Ÿ ๐‘๐‘Ÿ๐‘œ๐‘ ๐‘  ๐‘Ž๐‘›๐‘‘ ๐‘“๐‘œ๐‘™๐‘™๐‘œ๐‘ค ๐ฝ๐‘’๐‘ ๐‘ข๐‘ ? ๐ด๐‘Ÿ๐‘’ ๐‘ค๐‘’ ๐‘Ÿ๐‘’๐‘Ž๐‘‘๐‘ฆ ๐‘ก๐‘œ ๐‘ ๐‘Ž๐‘๐‘Ÿ๐‘–๐‘“๐‘–๐‘๐‘’ ๐‘œ๐‘ข๐‘Ÿ ๐‘œ๐‘ค๐‘› ๐‘–๐‘›๐‘ก๐‘’๐‘Ÿ๐‘’๐‘ ๐‘ก๐‘  ๐‘Ž๐‘›๐‘‘ ๐‘‘๐‘’๐‘ ๐‘–๐‘Ÿ๐‘’๐‘  ๐‘“๐‘œ๐‘Ÿ ๐‘กโ„Ž๐‘’ ๐‘”๐‘œ๐‘œ๐‘‘ ๐‘œ๐‘“ ๐‘œ๐‘กโ„Ž๐‘’๐‘Ÿ๐‘ ?

While the Perjalanan Salib has come to an end, this cross will be joined with eight others to form a giant Cross during the Malaysia Pastoral Conference (MPC) in Sibu. Yet, as Bishop Richard reminded us, our own journey of the cross does not end here โ€” it continues until we reach the resurrection.

May we accept the cross with love, humility, and obedience โ€” for it is through the cross that salvation comes.
