【孝心一念，光明遍照】
—笨珍阿彌陀佛蓮社中元孝親報恩法會紀實
九月一日，近百位蓮友放下俗務，齊聚道場。聲聲佛號，是兒女對父母最深的呼喚；句句經咒，是遊子報答養育之恩的泣訴。
《盂蘭盆經》云：「是佛弟子修孝順者，應念念中常憶父母……為作盂蘭盆，施佛及僧，以報父母長養慈愛之恩。」法會中，大眾以百味供養十方僧，仗三寶威神，為現世父母祈願病苦消除、福壽增長；為過去父母及歷代祖先超薦，令其脫離三途，往生淨土。
《地藏經》亦言：「為父母乃至眷屬作諸功德，命終之後，承斯功德，生人天中，受勝妙樂。」每一盞燈、每一拜、每一句佛號，都承載著無盡孝思。當日，許多人含淚禮拜，彷彿再見父母慈顏。那份深埋心底的恩情，化為光明，照亮生死兩岸。
願此功德，迴向天下父母——現世者安康吉祥，過去者蓮品高增。讓我們以孝心為燈，點亮菩提之路，報四重恩，濟三途苦。阿彌陀佛！

Title: A Heart of Filial Piety, Light Shines Everywhere
— Report on the Zhong Yuan Ceremony at Pontian Amitabha Buddhist Society
On 1 September, nearly a hundred devotees gathered, setting aside daily cares. Every chant of “Amitabha” was a child’s heartfelt call to parents; every sutra verse was a tearful repayment of boundless nurturing kindness.
The Ullambana Sutra teaches: “All filial disciples should constantly remember their parents… make the Ullambana offering to the Buddha and the Sangha, to repay the kindness of their raising and love.” During the ceremony, they chanted this sutra and the Ksitigarbha Sutra, offered fine food to the monastic community, and relied on the Three Jewels’ power — praying for living parents’ health and longevity, and for departed parents and ancestors to be freed from suffering and reborn in the Pure Land.
The Ksitigarbha Sutra says: “Those who make merits for their parents or relatives will, after their passing, be born in heavenly realms and enjoy supreme bliss.” Every lamp, every bow, every recitation carried infinite filial devotion. Many wept as if seeing their parents’ loving faces again. That long‑buried gratitude turned into light, illuminating both the living and the departed.
May this merit be dedicated to all parents — may the living be blessed with peace, and the departed rise to higher lotus grades. Let filial piety be our lamp, lighting the path to enlightenment, repaying four kinds of kindness and relieving three realms of suffering. Amitabha!
