Extending Compassion Through Giving DANA

With compassion and kindness, Shakyamuni Vihara was pleased to distribute essential items to 50 needy families in Jalan Kesidang 1, Melaka.

Each family received a package containing 13 essential items, prepared with the hope of easing some of their daily needs and bringing a little comfort and encouragement to their homes.

This meaningful community outreach would not have been possible without the generosity and kindness of our donors, as well as the dedication and support of our wonderful volunteers.
Our heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to donated, volunteered, and helped make this initiative possible.

May the merits of this noble act of giving bring happiness, peace, and blessings to all the donors, volunteers, families, and everyone involved.

SEVENTH LUNAR MONTH PRAYERS
Dedicating Merits to Departed Loved Ones, Ancestors, Friends and All Beings

Shakyamuni Vihara Melaka recently conducted a meaningful three days Seventh Lunar Month Prayer Ceremony, dedicated to our departed relatives, ancestors, friends, and loved ones.

Over the three days, prayers and chanting were conducted in two sessions each day:
Morning Session: 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM
Evening Session: 8:00 PM – 9:00 PM
We are deeply grateful to see so many devotees and members of the community attending the ceremonies and participating with sincere faith and devotion. The prayers were conducted smoothly and peacefully, creating a meaningful opportunity for everyone to remember their departed loved ones and dedicate merits towards their well-being.
Our heartfelt appreciation goes to all the generous donors and devotees whose kind support made this prayer ceremony possible.
A very special thank you to our wonderful volunteers for your time, dedication, and selfless service throughout all three days. Your support in preparing the vihara, welcoming devotees, arranging the sessions, and assisting with the smooth running of the programme is truly appreciated.

May the merits of these wholesome deeds be dedicated to all departed relatives, ancestors, friends, and loved ones.

May they be free from suffering and find peace and happiness.
May all beings be blessed with peace, happiness and well-being finally attained bliss of Nibbana.

Vassa Invitation Ceremony 2026 at Shakyamuni Vihara 🙏🏼

Shakyamuni Vihara successfully conducted the Vassa Invitation Ceremony yesterday, marking the beginning of the annual Rains Retreat observed by the Sangha. Vassa is a sacred period of spiritual cultivation, encouraging the practice of generosity, virtue, mindfulness, and wisdom. It is also a wonderful opportunity for lay devotees to deepen their faith by supporting the Sangha and cultivating wholesome qualities.

Shakyamuni Vihara Melaka is grateful to continue our School Uniform Distribution Programme, bringing joy and support to deserving students across Melaka.

Through the generosity of our compassionate donors, many children have received new school uniforms, helping to ease the financial burden on their families and allowing them to begin the school year with confidence and dignity.

We would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to all our generous donors for making this meaningful initiative possible. Your kindness and generosity have made a real difference in the lives of many students.

SHAKYAMUNI VIHARA MELAKA
WESAK DAY CELEBRATION 2026

Our Wesak Day celebration at Shakyamuni Vihara was filled with devotion, peace, and meaningful practice from morning until late evening.

The program began with candle offerings at 9:00 AM, followed by a short Dhamma sharing, Buddha Puja, sutra recitation, and blessings conducted by Rev. Chandananda at 10:00 AM.

At 11:30 AM, devotees participated in the offering of Dana to the Sangha, and at 12:00 PM, vegetarian lunch was served to the public.

We were truly happy to see a large number of devotees and well-wishers visiting the vihara throughout the day. The atmosphere was filled with harmony, unity, and devotion as everyone gathered to commemorate this most auspicious day.

May the blessings of the Triple Gem bring peace, happiness, and wisdom to all beings.

Shakyamuni Vihara Melaka would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all devotees, supporters, volunteers, and well-wishers who participated in the Wesak Eve Procession.

It was truly a great and meaningful celebration filled with peace, harmony, unity, and devotion. We were very happy to witness such a large number of devotees joining together to commemorate this auspicious occasion.
