Song of Solomon 4 (The Passion of the Bride)
Oprah Winfrey: “Hearing a sermon about a JEALOUS GOD during my youth caused me to question conventional Christian doctrine. This realization prompted me to pursue a more personal SPIRITUAL path centred on love rather than biblical teachings.”
2 Corinthians 11:2a… For I (GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT through Paul’s writing) am JEALOUS for YOU (BELIEVERS) with GODLY JEALOUSY. For I (GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT) have BETROTHED (ENGAGED) you.
1. There is a major difference between jealousy and HOLY JEALOUSY;
a. Jealousy is:
i. All about SELF.
ii. Often a selfish emotion rooted in fear, insecurity, or a sinful desire to control.
b. HOLY JEALOUSY is:
i. All about the OTHER PARTY.
ii. A pure, righteous passion rooted in deep love, and a faithful commitment to protect the other party’s well-being.
2. Almighty God is filled with HOLY JEALOUSY towards every individual Believer.
3. Very so often, Christians forget that they are NOT SINGLE for every Believer is already ENGAGED;
a. To be the BRIDE of CHRIST.
b. And has a Heavenly Fiancé and His name is JESUS – the coming GROOM!
2 Corinthians 11:2b… To ONE HUSBAND.
James 4:4a… ADULTERERS and ADULTERESSES! Do you not know that friendship with the WORLD is enmity with God?
1. No good HUSBAND is going to share his BRIDE with another man.
2. What more when it comes to our ONE and ONLY Heavenly HUSBAND - CHRIST who is full of GODLY JEALOUSY?
3. Whenever a Christian puts ANYONE or ANYTHING of this WORLD above CHRIST, they are committing SPIRITUAL ADULTERY.
2 Corinthians 11:2c… That I (GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT) MAY PRESENT YOU as a CHASTE (FAITHFUL) VIRGIN to CHRIST.
Matthew 25:4… But the WISE (VIRGINS) took OIL (HOLY SPIRIT) in their vessels with their lamps.
1. A major reason why GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT is dwelling inside of EVERY Believer is because He wants to yoke with us to prepare us and teach us what it means to be the BRIDE of CHRIST.
2. GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT through;
a. Justification
b. Sanctification
c. The JOURNEY of Sanctification
… is making us the KIND OF BRIDE as GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT knows the desires of CHRIST the Heavenly GROOM.
3. The Heavenly BRIDE of Christ is to be;
a. FAITHFUL.
b. A VIRGIN.
c. WISE.
d. Filled with GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT (OIL).
e. Led by GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT (OIL).
Song of Solomon 4:1-5… Behold, you are fair, my love! Behold, you are fair! You have dove’s eyes behind your veil. Your hair is like a flock of goats, going down from Mount Gilead. 2 Your teeth are like a flock of shorn sheep which have come up from the washing, every one of which bears twins, and none is barren among them. 3 Your lips are like a strand of scarlet, and your mouth is lovely. Your temples behind your veil are like a piece of pomegranate. 4 Your neck is like the tower of David, built for an armory, on which hang a thousand bucklers, all shields of mighty men. 5 Your two breasts are like two fawns, twins of a gazelle, which feed among the lilies.

Song of Solomon 4:6-7… Until the DAY BREAKS and the shadows flee away, I will go my way to the mountain of myrrh and to the hill of frankincense. 7 You are all fair, my love, and there is NO SPOT IN YOU (BRIDE).
1. The book of the Song of Solomon is a picture of a;
a. Perfect Groom.
b. Perfect bride.
c. Perfet romance.
d. Perfect marriage.
2. This chapter begins (verses 1 to 5) where the GROOM praises His BRIDE and following with verse 6 where the GROOM expresses how much He loves being intimate with His BRIDE.
3. A KEY PHRASE for this perfect relationship is “NO SPOT IN YOU” referring to the kind of person the BRIDE is;
a. The BRIDE is Justified.
b. The BRIDE is Sanctified.
c. The BRIDE is successful in her Journey of Sanctification.

Song of Solomon 4:8-11… Come with me from Lebanon, my spouse, with me from Lebanon. Look from the top of Amana, from the top of Senir and Hermon, from the lions’ dens, from the mountains of the leopards. 9 You have ravished my heart, my sister, my spouse; You have ravished my heart with one look of your eyes, with one link of your necklace. 10 How fair is your love, my sister, my spouse! How much better than wine is your love, and the scent of your perfumes than all spices! 11 Your lips, O my spouse, drip as the honeycomb; Honey and milk are under your tongue; And the fragrance of your garments is like the fragrance of Lebanon.

Song of Solomon 4:12-13… A garden ENCLOSED is my sister, my spouse, a spring SHUT UP, a fountain SEALED. 13Your PLANTS are an ORCHARD (FRUITFUL) of pomegranates with pleasant FRUITS, fragrant henna with spikenard.
1. The BRIDE is super FAITHFUL and EXCLUSIVELY COMMITTED to her GROOM alone.
2. The GROOM is so impressed at how hardworking His BRIDE is.
3. The GROOM praises his BRIDE for living a FRUITFUL life.

Song of Solomon 4:16… Awake, O north wind, and COME (INVITES), O south! Blow upon MY GARDEN, that its spices may flow out. Let my BELOVED (GROOM) come to his garden and eat its pleasant fruits.
1. The BRIDE fully INVITES the GROOM into her life.
2. The BRIDE is completely surrendered to the GROOM.
3. The BRIDE serves the GROOM.

Proverbs 18 (Power and Glory)
Psalms 99:6… MOSES and AARON were among His priests, and SAMUEL (OLD COVENANT BELIEVERS) was among those who called upon His NAME; They called upon the LORD, and He answered them.
1. OLD COVENANT BELIEVERS prayed in the NAME of YHWH (YAHWEH/JEHOVAH) which means LORD.
2. The NAME YAHWEH refers to the ONE GOD of the Old Testament.
3. The Trinity was PROGRESSIVELY (“let US make men”) revealed in the Old Testament.

John 14:13… And whatever YOU (NEW COVENANT BELIEVER) ask in MY NAME (JESUS), that I (THE SPIRIT OF JESUS) will do, that the FATHER may be GLORIFIED in the SON (JESUS).
1. NEW COVENANT BELIEVERS pray in the NAME of JESUS.
2. The NAME JESUS comes from the Hebrew NAME YESHUA/JOSHUA and JESUS means “YAHWEH SAVES”.
3. The Trinity is FULLY (Jesus’ baptism) revealed in the New Testament.
Proverbs 18:1… A man who isolates HIMSELF seeks his OWN desire; He RAGES AGAINST (REJECTS) ALL WISE judgment.
1. The Proverbs begins with calling PEOPLE to NOT be SELF-DEPENDENT because SELF-DEPENDENT people;
a. Depend on SELF.
b. DO NOT depend on God.
c. REJECTS ALL WISDOM.
2. God the Holy Spirit is calling every Believer to be CHRIST-DEPENDENT!
3. The difference;
a. SELF DEPENDENCE people want to/will end up GLORIFYING SELF.
b. CHRIST-DEPENDENT Believers will GLORIFY CHRIST.
Matthew 6:13b… For YOURS (GOD’S) is the KINGDOM and the POWER and the GLORY FOREVER. Amen.
Proverbs 18:2… A FOOL has no delight in understanding, but in expressing his OWN (SELF) heart.
1. Only through JESUS can anyone enter into GOD’S KINGDOM.
2. GOD’S KINGDOM is all about;
a. Experiencing the POWER of JESUS.
b. Bringing GLORY to JESUS.
3. A FOOL is someone who thinks that life is about SELF and not about the One who created him and that is JESUS!

Proverbs 18:3-9… When the wicked comes, contempt comes also; And with dishonor comes reproach. 4 The words of a man’s mouth are deep waters; The wellspring of wisdom is a flowing brook. 5 It is not good to show partiality to the wicked, or to overthrow the righteous in judgment. 6 A fool’s lips enter into contention, and his mouth calls for blows. 7 A fool’s mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul. 8 The words of a talebearer are like tasty trifles, and they go down into the inmost body. 9 He who is slothful in his work is a brother to him who is a great destroyer.

John 16:23b… “Most assuredly, I (JESUS) say to you, whatever you ask the Father in MY (JESUS) NAME He will give you.
Proverbs 18:10… The NAME of the LORD is a STRONG TOWER; The RIGHTEOUS run to it and are safe.
1. New Covenant Believers pray in JESUS NAME;
a. Firstly, because we believe that there is so much POWER in the NAME of JESUS.
b. Secondly, we are promising that in the answered prayer we give GLORY to JESUS ALONE.
2. When we pray in JESUS NAME we;
a. DO NOT FOCUS ON…
i. Our petition as we HAVE SURRENDERED them at the feet of JESUS.
b. FOCUS ON…
i. The POWER in JESUS name.
ii. Giving GLORY to JESUS for the answered prayer.
3. When our prayer is FOCUS on JESUS NAME (His POWER and His GLORY);
a. We enter into the STRONG TOWER.
b. God looks at that as RIGHTEOUSNESS.

Proverbs 18:11-13… The rich man’s wealth is his strong city, and like a high wall in his own esteem. 12 Before destruction the heart of a man is haughty, and before honor is humility. 13 He who answers a matter before he hears it, it is folly and shame to him.

Proverbs 18:14… The SPIRIT of a man will sustain him in SICKNESS (CHALLENGES), but who can BEAR a BROKEN SPIRIT?
Matthew 7:7… “ASK, and it will be given to you; SEEK, and you will find; KNOCK, and it will be opened to you.
1. Every human is a SPIRIT, yet;
a. Only some SPIRITS are born-again (SPIRITUAL babies).
b. Other SPIRITS are unborn (SPIRITUAL fetus).
2. Every SPIRIT (babies/fetus) are inclined towards the SPIRITUAL because we are SPIRIT.
3. God allows humans to experience UNBEARABLE BROKEN SPIRIT (SICKNESS/CHALLENGES) because too often, having a BROKEN SPIRIT is the only reason why humans begin;
a. ASKING in PRAYER.
b. SEEKING in PRAYER.
c. KNOCKING on God’s door in PRAYER.

Proverbs 18:15-20… The heart of the prudent acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge. 16 A man’s gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men. 17 The first one to plead his cause seems right, until his neighbor comes and examines him. 18 Casting lots causes contentions to cease, and keeps the mighty apart. 19 A brother offended is harder to win than a strong city, and contentions are like the bars of a castle.20 A man’s stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth; From the produce of his lips he shall be filled.

Proverbs 18:21… DEATH and LIFE are in the POWER of the TONGUE, and those who love it will eat its FRUIT.
1. What words comes out of our MOUTH will either bring;
a. DEATH.
b. LIFE.
2. As Believers when we make the choice to PRAY in JESUS NAME, we are going to SPEAK and BRING LIFE into the DEAD areas of our lives.
3. And when we PRAY FOCUSING on;
a. The POWER in JESUS NAME.
b. Bringing GLORY to JESUS NAME.
… we will begin to see GOOD FRUITS in our lives like never before and more than ever before.
Proverbs 18:22-24… He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from the LORD. 23The poor man uses entreaties, but the rich answers roughly. 24 A man who has friends must himself be friendly, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

1 Timothy 4 (Apostate and Backslider)

Hebrews 3:12… BEWARE, BRETHREN (CHRISTIANS), lest there be in any of YOU (APOSTATE) an evil HEART of UNBELIEF in DEPARTING FROM THE LIVING GOD.
Luke 15:20… “And HE (BACKSLIDER/PRODIGAL) arose and CAME TO HIS FATHER. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him.”
1. An APOSTATE;
a. Has an UNBELIEVING HEART.
b. DEPARTS FROM GOD and never comes back.
c. Was never born-again.
d. Was never a CHILD OF GOD.
2. A BACKSLIDER;
a. Has a BELIEVING HEART.
b. Gone cold but eventually COMES BACK TO CHRIST.
c. Is born-again.
d. Is forever a CHILD OF GOD.
3. There are Christian APOSTATES and Christian BACKSLIDERS and we are to;
a. Know the difference.
b. BEWARE that it does not happen to us.
c. BEWARE of the APOSATE.
d. PRAY for and love on the BACKSLIDER to come back to Christ.
1 Timothy 4:1-2… Now the SPIRIT (GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT) expressly says that in LATTER TIMES some will DEPART from the FAITH, giving heed to DECEIVING spirits and DOCTRINES of DEMONS. 2 Speaking LIES in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron.
1. GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT is warning us that as time goes by and as we get closer and closer to the VERY END TIMES, the issue of APOSTASY is going to get greater.
2. APOSTASY is DECEIVING and LYING to Christians into hell.
3. APOSTASY is DEMONIC!
1 Timothy 4:3… FORBIDDING TO MARRY, and COMMANDING TO ABSTAIN FROM FOODS which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the TRUTH.
1. An APOSTATE is a Christian who rejects Christ.
2. An APOSTATE CHURCH is a CULT who has gone away from TRUTH (GOD’S WORD).
3. Some of the LIES in Christian APOSTACY are the FORBIDDANCE OF;
a. MARRIAGE.
b. EATING certain FOOD.
c. Etc.
1 Timothy 4:4-5… For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving; 5 for it is sanctified by the WORD OF GOD and prayer.
1 Timothy 4:6… If you instruct the BRETHREN (CHRISTIANS) in these things, you will be a GOOD MINISTER OF JESUS CHRIST, nourished in the WORD OF FAITH and of the GOOD DOCTRINE which you have CAREFULLY FOLLOWED.
1. Heavenly Papa does not want us to become neither an APOSTATE nor a BACKSLIDER, instead He wants us to be;
a. TRUE CHRISTIANS CAREFULLY FOLLOWING…
i. The WORD OF FAITH.
ii. The GOOD DOCTRINE.
b. GOOD MINISTER OF JESUS CHRIST helping others not become APOSTATES or BACKSLIDERS.
2. THE WORD OF FAITH is the foundational TRUTHS of what TRUE CHRISTIANS BELIEVE.
3. GOOD DOCTRINE is a GUIDE on how TRUE CHRISTIANS are to LIVE our lives.
1 Timothy 4:7-8… But REJECT PROFANE and OLD WIVES’ FABLES, and EXERCISE (PRACTICE/LIVE A LIFESTYLE) yourself toward GODLINESS. 8 For bodily exercise profits a little, but GODLINESS is profitable for all things, having promise of the LIFE THAT NOW IS (EDEN LIFE) and of that WHICH IS TO COME (ETERNAL LIFE).
1. TRUE CHRISTIANS must REJECT PROFANE which is REJECTING;
a. Unholy ideas.
b. Worldliness.
2. TRUE CHRISTIANS must REJECT OLD WIVES’ FABLES which is REJECTING;
a. Unbiblical myths.
b. Superstitions.
3. TRUE CHRISTIANS live a LIFESTYLE of GODLINESS;
a. That will beautifully transition us from Wilderness and into Abundance in our EDEN LIFE.
b. While waiting to enter into perfect ETERNAL LIFE.

1 Timothy 4:9-16… This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance. 10 For to this end we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe. 11 These things command and teach. 12 Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity. 13 Till I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. 14 Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership. 15 Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all. 16 Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.

Jonah 1 (Perfect Will)
Romans 12:2b… GOOD and ACCEPTABLE (FULLY APPROVED) and PERFECT WILL OF GOD. Psalm 143:10… Teach ME (KING DAVID) to do YOUR WILL (GOD’S WILL), for You are MY GOD; Your SPIRIT (GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT) is good. LEAD ME in the land of UPRIGHTNESS.
1. KING DAVID had a clear revelation of beauty of following GOD’S WILL and GOD’S WILL is;
a. GOOD.
b. FULLY APPROVED.
c. PERFECT (UNCHANGEABLE).
2. Like KING DAVID, whenever we pray;
a. We are NOT praying for God’s Will to change.
b. We are praying for OUR WILL to come into alignment with God’s Will.
3. KING DAVID prayed for GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT to;
a. Teach HIM to do GOD’S WILL.
b. LEAD HIM into GOD’S WILL.
… for he believes that the WILL OF GOD will bring him into UPRIGHTNESS.
Jonah 1:1… Now the WORD OF THE LORD came to JONAH the son of Amittai, SAYING.
1. No way will we ever know the WILL OF GOD without knowing the WORD OF THE LORD.
2. The WORD OF THE LORD is;
a. The VOICE of the Lord.
b. The WILL OF THE LORD.
3. Just as God revealed HIS WILL to JONAH, God is constantly trying to SAY to us what is HIS WILL for our lives in our Life Journey if we take time to listen.
Matthew 22:14… “For many are CALLED, but few are CHOSEN.” Jonah 1:2… “ARISE, GO to NINEVEH, that great city, and cry out against it; for their wickedness has come up before Me.”
1. Every human is CALLED to do the WILL OF GOD.
2. Every Believer is CHOSEN to do the WILL OF GOD with the help of God the Holy Spirit who dwells inside of us.
3. Sometimes the WILL OF GOD is for us to ARISE and GO to NINEVEH which could refer to;
a. Going to a PLACE we rather not go.
b. Doing SOMETHING that we do not wish to do.
Jonah 1:3a… BUT JONAH arose to FLEE to TARSHISH from the presence of the LORD. 1 John 5:14… Now this is the confidence that we have in HIM (GOD), that if we ASK (PRAY) anything ACCORDING TO HIS WILL, HE HEARS US.
1. The WILL OF GOD may or MAY NOT be appealing to us as NINEVEH was not appealing to JONAH.
2. NINEVEH is a picture of GOD’S WILL that is UNAPPEALING to us while TARSHISH is a picture of the opposite of GOD’S WILL.
3. Instead of running away from our NINEVEH, and running towards our TARSHISH, we are to firmly make the decision to PRAY to GOD for;
a. Wisdom
b. Power
c. Determination
d. And everything that we need
… to go to NINEVEH and HE WILL HEAR AND RESPOND TO OUR PRAYERS because NINEVEH is HIS WILL.
Jonah 1:3b-6… He went down to Joppa, and found a ship going to Tarshish; so he paid the fare, and went down into it, to go with them to Tarshish from the presence of the LORD. 4 But the LORD sent out a great wind on the sea, and there was a mighty tempest on the sea, so that the ship was about to be broken up. 5 Then the mariners were afraid; and every man cried out to his god, and threw the cargo that was in the ship into the sea, to lighten the load. But Jonah had gone down into the lowest parts of the ship, had lain down, and was fast asleep. 6 So the captain came to him, and said to him, “What do you mean, sleeper? Arise, call on your God; perhaps your God will consider us, so that we may not perish.”
Jonah 1:7… And they said to one another, “Come, let us CAST LOTS (FIND OUT), that we may know for whose cause this TROUBLE has come upon us.” So they cast lots, and the lot FELL ON JONAH.
1. At the end of the day each and everyone of us will be FOUND OUT if we are living our lives flowing with GOD’S WILL or if we are not for there is nothing that we can hide from Heavenly Papa.
2. Also, as a Child of God if we insist on going our way instead of being attentive to GOD’S WILL, we are asking for TROUBLE for ourselves.
3. And when TROUBLE FALL ON US, let us not blame God or anyone but our own foolishness.
Jonah 1:8-11… Then they said to him, “Please tell us! For whose cause is this trouble upon us? What is your occupation? And where do you come from? What is your country? And of what people are you?” 9 So he said to them, “I am a Hebrew; and I fear the LORD, the God of heaven, who made the sea and the dry land.” 10 Then the men were exceedingly afraid, and said to him, “Why have you done this?” For the men knew that he fled from the presence of the LORD, because he had told them. 11 Then they said to him, “What shall we do to you that the sea may be calm for us?”—for the sea was growing more tempestuous.
Jonah 1:12… And HE (JONAH) said to them, “Pick me up and THROW ME INTO THE SEA (KILL ME); then the sea will become calm for you. For I know that this GREAT TEMPEST (STORM/MESS) is BECAUSE OF ME.”
1. God allowed JONAH to be in a GREAT MESS for choosing to go against HIS PERFECT WILL.
2. The goal of God’s GREAT MESS was to DISCIPLINE (not PUNISH) Jonah so to bring him into REPENTANCE.
3. Yet instead of REPENTING from not flowing with GOD’S WILL, Jonah chose DEATH/TO GIVE UP.
Jonah 1:13-16… Nevertheless the men rowed hard to return to land, but they could not, for the sea continued to grow more tempestuous against them. 14 Therefore they cried out to the LORD and said, “We pray, O LORD, please do not let us perish for this man’s life, and do not charge us with innocent blood; for You, O LORD, have done as it pleased You.” 15 So they picked up Jonah and threw him into the sea, and the sea ceased from its raging. 16 Then the men feared the LORD exceedingly, and offered a sacrifice to the LORD and took vows.
1 Samuel 15:29… “And also the STRENGTH OF ISRAEL (GOD) will not lie nor RELENT (CHANGE HIS MIND). For He is not a man, that He should RELENT.” Jonah 1:17… Now the LORD had prepared a GREAT FISH TO SWALLOW JONAH. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.
1. At the end of the day God will NOT CHANGE HIS MIND about HIS WILL for GOD’S WILL is;
a. GOOD.
b. FULLY APPROVED.
c. PERFECT.
2. To cause a GREAT FISH TO SWALLOW JONAH speaks of God doing everything and anything for HIS WILL to come to past for He will not relent.
3. Today is the day of repentance and making a firm decision to stop running;
a. Away from NINEVEH.
b. Towards TARSHISH.
