John 2 (Old Wine, New Wine)
Matthew 9:17… Nor do they put NEW WINE (MIRACLES of Abundant Life) into OLD WINESKINS (OLD COVENANT through Moses), or else the wineskins break, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But they put NEW WINE into NEW WINESKINS (NEW COVENANT through Jesus), and both are preserved.”
John 2:5… His MOTHER (MARY) said to the servants, “Whatever HE (JESUS) SAYS to you, DO IT.”
1. The NEW;
a. NEW WINESKIN is a picture of the NEW Covenant that comes to us through JESUS alone.
b. NEW WINE speaks of the MIRACLES/SUPERNATURAL in “Abundant Life”, transcending into the “Eternal Life”.
2. The OLD;
a. OLD WINESKIN is a picture of the OLD Covenant that was given to the Old Testament Believers through Moses.
b. OLD WINE speaks of the “Earthly Life” without JESUS in our Life Journey.
3. The key to having NEW WINE is to take MARY’S advice which is to always DO WHAT JESUS TELLS us to DO.
John 2:1-2… On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. 2 Now both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding.
John 2:3… And when they RAN OUT OF WINE (OLD), the mother of JESUS said to Him, “They have NO WINE (Earthly Life).”
1 John 2:17a… And the WORLD is PASSING AWAY.
1. EVERYTHING of this WORLD is OLD WINE and they are all PASSING AWAY, and that include our;
a. Youth.
b. Babies.
c. Honeymoon.
d. Passions.
e. Marriage.
f. Careers.
g. Best-friend.
h. Ministries.
i. Hobbies.
j. Holidays.
k. Etc.
2. We will RUN OUT OF OLD WINE sooner or later for Old Wine is meant only for this John 2:3 Earthly Life.
3. NEW WINE on the other hand;
a. Comes from Heavenly Papa.
b. In the name of Jesus Christ.
c. Through the power of God the Holy Spirit.
… is for the John 10:10 Abundant Life on this earth.
John 2:4… Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does your concern have to do with Me? My hour has not yet come.”
John 2:6a… Now there were set there SIX WATERPOTS of STONE (CLAY).
Genesis 1:26a&31b… Then God said, “Let Us make MAN (HUMANITY) in Our image.” 31b So the evening and the morning were the SIXTH day.
2 Corinthians 4:7… But we have this TREASURE (PERFECT GOD) in JARS of CLAY (IMPERFECT HUMANS) to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.
1. The FIRST MIRACLE EVER of the Lord Jesus Christ on this earth involved SIX STONE JARS.
2. Christ-incidentally, SIX is the biblical numeric of HUMANITY.
3. And JARS OF CLAY is a symbol of IMPERFECT HUMANITY.
John 2:6b… According to the manner of purification of the Jews, containing twenty or thirty gallons apiece.
John 2:7a… JESUS said to them, “FILL the waterpots with WATER.”
John 7:38-39a… He who BELIEVES IN ME (JESUS), as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will FLOW rivers of living WATER. 39a But this He spoke concerning the SPIRIT.
1. The FIRST step to having and enjoying NEW WINE is to BELIEVE IN JESUS as your;
a. Lord.
b. Savior.
2. The SECOND step to having and enjoying NEW WINE is to be FILLED with GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT.
3. The THIRD step to having and enjoying NEW WINE is to FLOW with GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT on this Life Journey.
John 2:7b-8… And they filled them up to the brim.8 And He said to them, “Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast.” And they took it.
John 2:9-10… When the master of the feast had TASTED the water that was made WINE (NEW), and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom. 10 And he said to him, “Every man at the beginning sets out the GOOD WINE, and when the guests have well drunk, then the INFERIOR. You have kept the GOOD WINE (NEW) until now!”
Psalm 34:8… Oh, TASTE and SEE that the LORD IS GOOD; BLESSED is the man who TRUSTS in HIM!
1. Heavenly Papa wants each and every one of His children to TASTE and ENJOY New Wine because New Wine is what the post Jesus, Abundant Life is all about.
2. Almighty God is calling His children to realise that the Old Wine of our Earthly Life is INFERIOR.
3. New Wine is GOOD WINE!!!
John 2:12-23a… After this He went down to Capernaum, He, His mother, His brothers, and His disciples; and they did not stay there many days. 13 Now the Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 14 And He found in the temple those who sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers doing business. 15 When He had made a whip of cords, He drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and the oxen, and poured out the changers’ money and overturned the tables. 16 And He said to those who sold doves, “Take these things away! Do not make My Father’s house a house of merchandise!” 17 Then His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for Your house has eaten Me up.” 18 So the Jews answered and said to Him, “What sign do You show to us, since You do these things?” 19 Jesus answered and said to them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” 20 Then the Jews said, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will You raise it up in three days?” 21 But He was speaking of the temple of His body. 22 Therefore, when He had risen from the dead, His disciples remembered that He had said this to them; and they believed the Scripture and the word which Jesus had said. 23a Now when He was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast.
John 2:11&23b-25… This beginning of SIGNS Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested HIS GLORY; and His disciples BELIEVED in Him. 23bMANY BELIEVED in His NAME WHEN THEY SAW the SIGNS which HE DID.24BUT JESUS did not COMMIT (RELATIONSHIP) Himself to them, because HE KNEW ALL MEN (OMNISCIENT), 25 and had NO NEED that anyone SHOULD TESTIFY OF MAN, for He knew WHAT WAS IN MAN.
1. JESUS did and is still doing many miraculous SIGNS and two of the reasons for the signs that JESUS does are;
a. Firstly, for His NAME to be GLORIFIED.
b. Secondly, for MANY to BELIEVE in Him.
2. BUT JESUS wants more than for us to BELIEVE in Him because of the SIGNS, JESUS desires a two-way COMMITMENT (RELATIONSHIP) between us and Him.
3. And because Jesus is OMNISCIENT, He knows exactly who;
a. Believes in Him because of the SIGNS He has done.

b. Desires an intimate RELATIONSHIP with Him.

2 Corinthians 6 (God Yokes with Me)
Hebrews 13:5b… For HE (JESUS) Himself has said, “I will NEVER LEAVE you nor FORSAKE (ABANDON) YOU (BELIEVERS).”
Matthew 11:29-30… TAKE MY YOKE UPON you and LEARN from ME (TEACHER HOLY SPIRIT), for I am GENTLE and LOWLY IN HEART (HUMBLE), and you will find REST for your souls. 30 For My yoke is EASY and My BURDEN is LIGHT.”
1. The moment a human-being gets BORN-AGAIN, there can never be a separation between the Believer;
a. And Heavenly Papa.
b. In the name of Jesus Christ.
c. And through the Person of God the Holy Spirit.
… for the Holy Word says Almighty God will NEVER LEAVE us nor FORSAKE us.
2. A spiritual YOKE of God will be PERPETUALLY OFFERED (NOT FORCED) unto the Believer and the Believer will have to make a choice to either;
a. REJECT the YOKE of God.
OR
b. TAKE the YOKE of God UPON his neck.
3. To TAKE the YOKE of God is to learn from GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT who;
a. Is as GENTLE as a dove.
b. Is HUMBLE.
c. Will give us REST.
d. Will give us a YOKE that is EASY to handle.
e. Will give us a LIGHT BURDEN to carry on this Life Journey.
2 Corinthians 6:1… We then, as WORKERS together with Him also plead with you not to RECEIVE THE GRACE OF GOD IN VAIN.
1. The most common picture of when a YOKE is used is on the ploughing field where two buffaloes work wonderfully together.
2. After getting born-again, THE MAJOR reason why Believers are left behind on this earth and not taken into heaven is for the purpose of becoming WORKERS in the Kingdom of God.
3. God calls the Christian who is NOT WORKING for Him, a Christian who had RECEIVED THE GRACE OF GOD IN VAIN!
2 Corinthians 6:2-3… For He says: “In an acceptable time I have heard you, and in the day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation. 3 We give no offense in anything, that our ministry may not be blamed.
2 Corinthians 6:4… But in ALL THINGS we commend ourselves as MINISTERS OF GOD: in much PATIENCE, in TRIBULATIONS (EXTERNAL SUFFERINGS), in NEEDS (LACKS), in DISTRESSES (INTERNAL SUFFERINGS).
1. We see clearly in the Holy Bible that the Life Journey of a Believer on this earth is NOT A BED OF ROSES.
2. Almighty God wants us to TAKE HIS YOKE upon our necks so that we will excel in ALL the THINGS that we have to face on this earth.
3. Unless we TAKE GOD’S YOKE upon ourselves, we will NOT;
a. Be PATIENT when we need PATIENCE.
b. Endure the TRIBULATIONS that we have to face.
c. Cope with the LACK in our lives.
d. Endure the unavoidable DISTRESSES.
2 Corinthians 6:5-9… In stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labors, in sleeplessness, in fastings; 6 by purity, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Spirit, by sincere love, 7 by the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armor of righteousness on the right hand and on the left, 8 by honor and dishonor, by evil report and good report; as deceivers, and yet true; 9 as unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold we live; as chastened, and yet not killed.
2 Corinthians 6:10… As SORROWFUL, yet ALWAYS REJOICING (JOYFUL); as POOR, yet MAKING MANY RICH; as HAVING NOTHING, and yet POSSESSING ALL THINGS.
1. YOKING WITH GOD brings forth the SUPERNATURAL that cannot be explained in the natural.
2. Just;
a. NO ONE in this world
b. NOTHING of this world
c. Not our hard work
d. Not our money
… is able to help us produce the kinds of fruits that the Believer in Christ can bear when they YOKE WITH GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT.
3. When a Believer makes the choice to YOKE WITH ALMIGHTY GOD, even in the NATURAL;
a. When he is supposed to be SORROWFUL, but he will have the SUPERNATURAL JOY of the Lord.
b. When he is supposed to be poor, but he will SUPERNATURALLY HELP MANY become RICH.
c. When he is supposed to HAVE NOTHING, but he will SUPERNATURALLY POSSESS ALL THINGS.
2 Corinthians 6:11-13… O Corinthians! We have spoken openly to you, our heart is wide open. 12 You are not restricted by us, but you are restricted by your own affections. 13 Now in return for the same (I speak as to children), you also be open.
2 Corinthians 6:14… DO NOT be UNEQUALLY YOKED together with UNBELIEVERS. For what FELLOWSHIP has righteousness with lawlessness? And what COMMUNION has light with darkness?
John 15:5… “I (JESUS) am the vine, you are the branches. He who ABIDES in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.”
1. To be YOKED is to BECOME ONE/ABIDE with PEOPLE and the way we do life will DEFINITELY be led by whom we are YOKED with;
a. In one way or another.
b. Slowly but surely.
2. As Children of God, we have to FIGHT to YOKE with Christ ALONE!
3. And as we YOKE with Jesus, we will;
a. FELLOWSHIP
b. COMMUNION
… with others who are also YOKING with JESUS.
2 Corinthians 6:15-18… And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? 16 And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they shall be My people.” 17 Therefore “Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you.” 18 “I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the LORD Almighty.”
Discussion Session 2 Corinthians 6:14… DO NOT be UNEQUALLY YOKED together with UNBELIEVERS. For what FELLOWSHIP has righteousness with lawlessness? And what COMMUNION has light with darkness?
1. JESUS;
a. Yoke with Christ alone.
b. What is one of the hardest things that you had to do because you yoked with Christ?
2. BELIEVERS;
a. Fellowship and Communion with Believers who yoke with Christ.
b. Share one thing that you…
i. Like about FELLOWSHIP.
Or
ii. Find challenging in FELLOWSHIP.
3. UNBELIEVERS;
a. Name one of your closest Unbelieving friends and why are you close to that person.
b. The truth is…
i. Are you influencing them?

c. Reach out to UNBELIEVERS.

Deuteronomy 28 (Head in Eden)
Genesis 1:28b… “HAVE DOMINION (BE THE HEAD) over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over EVERY LIVING THING that moves on the earth.”
Colossians 3:23… And whatever you do, do it heartily, as TO THE LORD and NOT TO MEN.
1. Genesis 1:28 is God’s Word to Adam and Eve before they were driven out of their Eden.
2. Today every born-again Believers has entered into their Eden to be the HEAD and not the TAIL.
3. Being the HEAD in our Eden is doing great things;
a. UNTO THE LORD.
b. For the glory of Jesus Christ.
c. To build the Kingdom of God.
Deuteronomy 28:1-2... “Now it shall come to pass, if you DILIGENTLY OBEY THE VOICE (WORD) OF THE LORD YOUR GOD, to OBSERVE CAREFULLY ALL HIS COMMANDMENTS which I command you today, that the LORD your God will SET YOU HIGH ABOVE ALL (MAKE YOU THE HEAD) nations of the earth.” 2 And all these BLESSINGS shall come upon you and overtake you, because YOU OBEY THE VOICE OF THE LORD YOUR GOD.
1. Deuteronomy 28 teaches Believers what it means to be the HEAD in our Eden which entails;
a. Being BLESSED (Verses 1-14).
b. Not being cursed (Verses 15-68).
2. To be the HEAD in our Eden we need the BLESSINGS of God and unlike God’s love which is unconditional, the BLESSINGS of God are conditional.
3. This chapter begins with telling Believers to;
a. DILLIGENTLY OBEY GOD’S WORD
[INWARD: relational heart response to God's love].
b. CAREFULLY OBSERVING ALL (AND NOT SOME) of GOD’S COMMANDMENTS
[OURWARD: obedience with rules] …
i. Ceremonial Laws (Jesus fulfilled them) e.g. Circumcision.
ii. Judicial Laws (Believers must fulfil) e.g. Do not murder.
iii. Moral Laws (Believers must fulfil) e.g. Do not tell lies.
Deuteronomy 28:3… “BLESSED shall you be in the CITY, and BLESSED shall you be in the COUNTRY.”
1. To be the HEAD in our Eden is to be BLESSED.
2. To be the HEAD in our Eden is not about WHERE we are or WHERE God puts it, for it does not matter if we are in;
a. The CITY or in the COUNTRY.
b. Malaysia or Nigeria.
c. Melaka or KL.
d. Ujung Pasir or Bukit Beruang.
e. This company or that company.
f. School or in the office.
3. Instead to be the HEAD in our Eden is about WHOSE we are, meaning WHO we BELONG to and that we belong to Heavenly Papa alone!
Deuteronomy 28:4-5… “BLESSED shall be the FRUIT OF YOUR BODY, the PRODUCE OF YOUR GROUND and the INCREASE OF YOUR HERDS, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks. 5 BLESSED shall be your BASKET and your KNEADING BOWL.”
1. The HEAD of the Eden will be BLESSED in the FRUIT OF OUR BODIES, being BLESSED with good and godly children/children-in-law/grandchildren/godchildren/spiritual children/etc.
2. The HEAD of the Eden will be BLESSED in the PRODUCE OF OUR GROUND, being BLESSED/not lacking with good food.
3. The HEAD of the Eden will be BLESSED in the INCREASE OF OUR HERDS and in OUR BASKET and KNEADING BOWL being BLESSED/not lacking wealth/finance.
Deuteronomy 28:6… “BLESSED shall you be when you COME IN, and BLESSED shall you be when you GO OUT.”
1. The HEAD of the Eden will be BLESSED when we;
a. COME IN (IN THE HOUSE).
b. GO OUT (OUT OF THE HOUSE).
2. The HEAD of the Eden will be BLESSED WHEREVER WE ARE, being BLESSED in our COMING IN;
a. Personal life.
b. Family life.
3. The HEAD of the Eden will be BLESSED WHATEVER WE DO, being BLESSED in our GOING OUT;
a. Work life.
b. Social life.
Deuteronomy 28:7-12… “The LORD will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways. 8 “The LORD will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and in all to which you set your hand, and He will bless you in the land which the LORD your God is giving you. 9 “The LORD will establish you as a holy people to Himself, just as He has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the LORD your God and walk in His ways. 10 Then all peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the LORD, and they shall be afraid of you. 11 And the LORD will grant you plenty of goods, in the fruit of your body, in the increase of your livestock, and in the produce of your ground, in the land of which the LORD swore to your fathers to give you. 12 The LORD will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.
Deuteronomy 28:13-14… And the LORD will make you the HEAD and not the TAIL; you shall be ABOVE only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them. 14 So you shall not turn aside from any of the words which I command you this day, to the right or the left, to GO AFTER OTHER GODS to SERVE them.
1. It is not enough for the Believer in Jesus Christ to be in their Eden, but is important that one is in their Eden;
a. As the HEAD.
b. Not as the TAIL.
… there are many Believers who are TAILS in their Eden.
2. To do well as HEADS in our Eden is to never ever GO AFTER OTHER GODS, and OTHER GODS are ANYONE or ANYTHING that becomes more important that JESUS CHRIST in our lives.
3. And the Believer must daily remember the major reason WHY God makes His children HEADS in our Eden and that is to SERVE Him above all reasons!
Deuteronomy 28:15-68… “But it shall come to pass, if you do not obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments and His statutes which I command you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you: 16 “Cursed shall you be in the city, and cursed shall you be in the country. 17 “Cursed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl. 18 “Cursed shall be the fruit of your body and the produce of your land, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks. 19 “Cursed shall you be when you come in, and cursed shall you be when you go out. 20 “The LORD will send on you cursing, confusion, and rebuke in all that you set your hand to do, until you are destroyed and until you perish quickly, because of the wickedness of your doings in which you have forsaken Me. 21 The LORD will make the plague cling to you until He has consumed you from the land which you are going to possess. 22 The LORD will strike you with consumption, with fever, with inflammation, with severe burning fever, with the sword, with scorching, and with mildew; they shall pursue you until you perish. 23 And your heavens which are over your head shall be bronze, and the earth which is under you shall be iron. 24 The LORD will change the rain of your land to powder and dust; from the heaven it shall come down on you until you are destroyed. 25 “The LORD will cause you to be defeated before your enemies; you shall go out one way against them and flee seven ways before them; and you shall become troublesome to all the kingdoms of the earth. 26 Your carcasses shall be food for all the birds of the air and the beasts of the earth, and no one shall frighten them away. 27 The LORD will strike you with the boils of Egypt, with tumors, with the scab, and with the itch, from which you cannot be healed. 28 The LORD will strike you with madness and blindness and confusion of heart. 29 And you shall grope at noonday, as a blind man gropes in darkness; you shall not prosper in your ways; you shall be only oppressed and plundered continually, and no one shall save you. 30 “You shall betroth a wife, but another man shall lie with her; you shall build a house, but you shall not dwell in it; you shall plant a vineyard, but shall not gather its grapes. 31 Your ox shall be slaughtered before your eyes, but you shall not eat of it; your donkey shall be violently taken away from before you, and shall not be restored to you; your sheep shall be given to your enemies, and you shall have no one to rescue them. 32 Your sons and your daughters shall be given to another people, and your eyes shall look and fail with longing for them all day long; and there shall be no strength in your hand. 33 A nation whom you have not known shall eat the fruit of your land and the produce of your labor, and you shall be only oppressed and crushed continually. 34 So you shall be driven mad because of the sight which your eyes see. 35 The LORD will strike you in the knees and on the legs with severe boils which cannot be healed, and from the sole of your foot to the top of your head. 36 “The LORD will bring you and the king whom you set over you to a nation which neither you nor your fathers have known, and there you shall serve other gods—wood and stone. 37 And you shall become an astonishment, a proverb, and a byword among all nations where the LORD will drive you. 38 “You shall carry much seed out to the field but gather little in, for the locust shall consume it. 39 You shall plant vineyards and tend them, but you shall neither drink of the wine nor gather the grapes; for the worms shall eat them. 40 You shall have olive trees throughout all your territory, but you shall not anoint yourself with the oil; for your olives shall drop off. 41 You shall beget sons and daughters, but they shall not be yours; for they shall go into captivity. 42 Locusts shall consume all your trees and the produce of your land. 43 “The alien who is among you shall rise higher and higher above you, and you shall come down lower and lower. 44 He shall lend to you, but you shall not lend to him; he shall be the head, and you shall be the tail. 45 “Moreover all these curses shall come upon you and pursue and overtake you, until you are destroyed, because you did not obey the voice of the LORD your God, to keep His commandments and His statutes which He commanded you. 46 And they shall be upon you for a sign and a wonder, and on your descendants forever. 47 “Because you did not serve the LORD your God with joy and gladness of heart, for the abundance of everything, 48 therefore you shall serve your enemies, whom the LORD will send against you, in hunger, in thirst, in nakedness, and in need of everything; and He will put a yoke of iron on your neck until He has destroyed you. 49 The LORD will bring a nation against you from afar, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flies, a nation whose language you will not understand, 50 a nation of fierce countenance, which does not respect the elderly nor show favor to the young. 51 And they shall eat the increase of your livestock and the produce of your land, until you are destroyed; they shall not leave you grain or new wine or oil, or the increase of your cattle or the offspring of your flocks, until they have destroyed you. 52 “They shall besiege you at all your gates until your high and fortified walls, in which you trust, come down throughout all your land; and they shall besiege you at all your gates throughout all your land which the LORD your God has given you. 53 You shall eat the fruit of your own body, the flesh of your sons and your daughters whom the LORD your God has given you, in the siege and desperate straits in which your enemy shall distress you. 54 The sensitive and very refined man among you will be hostile toward his brother, toward the wife of his bosom, and toward the rest of his children whom he leaves behind, 55 so that he will not give any of them the flesh of his children whom he will eat, because he has nothing left in the siege and desperate straits in which your enemy shall distress you at all your gates. 56 The tender and delicate woman among you, who would not venture to set the sole of her foot on the ground because of her delicateness and sensitivity, will refuse to the husband of her bosom, and to her son and her daughter, 57 her placenta which comes out from between her feet and her children whom she bears; for she will eat them secretly for lack of everything in the siege and desperate straits in which your enemy shall distress you at all your gates. 58 “If you do not carefully observe all the words of this law that are written in this book, that you may fear this glorious and awesome name, THE LORD YOUR GOD, 59 then the LORD will bring upon you and your descendants extraordinary plagues—great and prolonged plagues—and serious and prolonged sicknesses. 60 Moreover He will bring back on you all the diseases of Egypt, of which you were afraid, and they shall cling to you. 61 Also every sickness and every plague, which is not written in this Book of the Law, will the LORD bring upon you until you are destroyed. 62 You shall be left few in number, whereas you were as the stars of heaven in multitude, because you would not obey the voice of the LORD your God. 63 And it shall be, that just as the LORD rejoiced over you to do you good and multiply you, so the LORD will rejoice over you to destroy you and bring you to nothing; and you shall be plucked from off the land which you go to possess. 64 “Then the LORD will scatter you among all peoples, from one end of the earth to the other, and there you shall serve other gods, which neither you nor your fathers have known—wood and stone. 65 And among those nations you shall find no rest, nor shall the sole of your foot have a resting place; but there the LORD will give you a trembling heart, failing eyes, and anguish of soul. 66 Your life shall hang in doubt before you; you shall fear day and night, and have no assurance of life. 67 In the morning you shall say, ‘Oh, that it were evening!’ And at evening you shall say, ‘Oh, that it were morning!’ because of the fear which terrifies your heart, and because of the sight which your eyes see. 68 “And the LORD will take you back to Egypt in ships, by the way of which I said to you, ‘You shall never see it again.’ And there you shall be offered for sale to your enemies as male and female slaves, but no one will buy you.

2 Samuel 22 (Why Fear God)
Matthew 14:26&30… And when the disciples SAW HIM (JESUS) walking on the sea, they were TROUBLED, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out for FEAR. 30 But when he (Peter) saw that the WIND was BOISTEROUS (STRONG), he was AFRAID; and beginning to SINK he cried out, saying, “LORD, SAVE me!”
1 Samuel 12:24a… ONLY FEAR the LORD.
1. There will be a hundred-and-one types of TROUBLES thrown at us and giving us many reasons to FEAR all kinds of STRONG WIND that;
a. Are coming.
b. Will come.
… our way as we go on in our Life Journey on this earth.
2. Yet the Holy Bible tells us to;
a. Fear none of the STRONG WIND that may come our way.
b. ONLY FEAR THE LORD.
3. When we decide to SEE JESUS, we will supernaturally naturally;
a. Not be AFRAID.
b. Not SINK.
c. Be SAVED.
2 Samuel 22:1… Then DAVID spoke to the LORD the words of this song, on the day when the LORD had DELIVERED him from the hand of ALL his ENEMIES, and from the hand of SAUL.
1. A major reason to the much success of KING DAVID’s life was His HOLY FEAR UNTO THE LORD.
2. To FEAR THE LORD is to know, believe, and mediate that NO ONE and NOTHING can DELIVER us from the STRONG WIND of our lives the way the LORD can and the LORD will.
3. When we choose to FEAR THE LORD instead of fearing the strong winds in our lives;
a. ALL (NOT SOME) of our ENEMIES (PEOPLE and THINGS) will be handled by the LORD Himself.
b. ALL the SAULS (PEOPLE WITH AUTHORITY WHO ARE ATTACKING US) in our lives will face God’s wrath.
2 Samuel 22:2-3… And he said: “The LORD is my ROCK (STABILITY) and my FORTRESS (HIDING PLACE) and my DELIVERER; 3 The God of my STRENGTH, in whom I will TRUST; My SHIELD (PROTECTOR) and the HORN (POWER) of my SALVATION, My STRONGHOLD (PEACE OF MIND) and my REFUGE (SAFETY); My SAVIOR, You save me from VIOLENCE.
1. To be TEMPTED TO FEAR THE STRONG WIND and to FALL INTO FEARING THE STRONG WIND are two different things;
a. One could be TEMPTED TO FEAR the strong wind yet chooses to FEAR THE LORD instead.
b. One could be TEMPTED TO FEAR the strong wind and falls into FEAR.
2. You cannot claim to FEAR THE LORD if you are CHOOSING (and not fighting to NOT) to fear the strong wind in your life.
3. Today is the day to make the DECISION to allow God the Holy Spirit to help us grow in our FEAR OF THE LORD because we can TRUST the LORD to be our;
a. ROCK (STABILITY).
b. FORTRESS (HIDING PLACE).
c. DELIVERER.
d. STRENGTH.
e. SHIELD (PROTECTOR).
f. HORN (POWER).
g. SALVATION.
h. STRONGHOLD (PEACE OF MIND).
i. REFUGE (SAFETY).
j. SAVIOR.
k. Protection from VIOLENCE.
2 Samuel 22:4… I will call upon the LORD, who is WORTHY TO BE PRAISED; So shall I be saved from my enemies.
2 Samuel 22:5-6… “When the waves of DEATH surrounded me, the floods of ungodliness made me afraid. 6 The sorrows of SHEOL (HADES/not ABADDON) surrounded me; The snares of DEATH confronted me.
1 Corinthians 15:57… But thanks be to God, who gives us the VICTORY (OVER DEATH) through our LORD JESUS CHRIST.
1. The GREATEST STRONG WIND/ENEMY of the humanity is DEATH/SHEOL/ABADDON.
2. Yet our LORD JESUS CHRIST has conquered DEATH/SHEOL/ABADDON.
3. There is no reason to not FEAR THE LORD!
2 Samuel 22:7-30… In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried out to my God; He heard my voice from His temple, and my cry entered His ears. 8 “Then the earth shook and trembled; The foundations of heaven quaked and were shaken, because He was angry. 9 Smoke went up from His nostrils, and devouring fire from His mouth; Coals were kindled by it. 10 He bowed the heavens also, and came down with darkness under His feet. 11 He rode upon a cherub, and flew; And He was seen upon the wings of the wind. 12 He made darkness canopies around Him, dark waters and thick clouds of the skies. 13 From the brightness before Him coals of fire were kindled. 14 “The LORD thundered from heaven, and the Most High uttered His voice. 15 He sent out arrows and scattered them; Lightning bolts, and He vanquished them. 16 Then the channels of the sea were seen, the foundations of the world were uncovered, at the rebuke of the LORD, at the blast of the breath of His nostrils. 17 “He sent from above, He took me, He drew me out of many waters. 18 He delivered me from my strong enemy, from those who hated me; For they were too strong for me. 19 They confronted me in the day of my calamity, but the LORD was my support. 20 He also brought me out into a broad place; He delivered me because He delighted in me. 21 “The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness; According to the cleanness of my hands He has recompensed me. 22 For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God. 23 For all His judgments were before me; And as for His statutes, I did not depart from them. 24 I was also blameless before Him, and I kept myself from my iniquity. 25 Therefore the LORD has recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to my cleanness in His eyes. 26 “With the merciful You will show Yourself merciful; With a blameless man You will show Yourself blameless; 27 With the pure You will show Yourself pure; And with the devious You will show Yourself shrewd. 28 You will save the humble people; But Your eyes are on the haughty, that You may bring them down. 29 “For You are my lamp, O LORD; The LORD shall enlighten my darkness. 30 For by You I can run against a troop; By my God I can leap over a wall.

2 Samuel 22:31… As for GOD, His way is PERFECT; The WORD OF THE LORD is proven; He is a shield to all who TRUST in HIM.
1. Whenever we make the choice to FEAR someone or something that is coming against us, we are subconsciously making the decision to TRUST that the subject of our FEAR as a subject of POWER.
2. To FEAR THE LORD is to TRUST THE LORD and TRUSTING that HE IS MOST POWERFUL!
3. No one and nothing that;
a. Has been on this earth.
b. Is now on this earth.
c. Will be on this earth.
… is PERFECT but GOD and because He is PERFECT, we must and we can decide to FEAR Him today and the rest of the days of our lives in Jesus’ name and through the help of God the Holy Spirit.

2 Samuel 22:32-51… “For who is God, except the LORD? And who is a rock, except our God? 33 God is my strength and power, and He makes my way perfect. 34 He makes my feet like the feet of deer, and sets me on my high places. 35 He teaches my hands to make war, so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze. 36 “You have also given me the shield of Your salvation; Your gentleness has made me great. 37 You enlarged my path under me; So my feet did not slip. 38 “I have pursued my enemies and destroyed them; Neither did I turn back again till they were destroyed. 39 And I have destroyed them and wounded them, so that they could not rise; They have fallen under my feet. 40 For You have armed me with strength for the battle; You have subdued under me those who rose against me. 41 You have also given me the necks of my enemies, so that I destroyed those who hated me. 42 They looked, but there was none to save; Even to the LORD, but He did not answer them. 43 Then I beat them as fine as the dust of the earth; I trod them like dirt in the streets, and I spread them out. 44 “You have also delivered me from the strivings of my people; You have kept me as the head of the nations. A people I have not known shall serve me. 45 The foreigners submit to me; As soon as they hear, they obey me. 46 The foreigners fade away, and come frightened from their hideouts. 47 “The LORD lives! Blessed be my Rock! Let God be exalted, the Rock of my salvation! 48 It is God who avenges me, and subdues the peoples under me; 49 He delivers me from my enemies. You also lift me up above those who rise against me; You have delivered me from the violent man. 50 Therefore I will give thanks to You, O LORD, among the Gentiles, and sing praises to Your name. 51 “He is the tower of salvation to His king, and shows mercy to His anointed, to David and his descendants forevermore.”
