You also may drop your inquiries via FB Messenger or email at [email protected]. Here's a little history about Catholic Mass. The Catholic Mass was codified in the
year 1570 by Pope Pius V and it established the guidelines for the celebration of the Tridentine Mass, which became the standard form of the Catholic Mass for centuries. For many years, with Quo Primum the Mass stayed the same way. But over time, especially after Vatican II (a big meeting of Catholic leaders in the 1960s), the Church made some changes to the Mass, allowing it to be celebrated in different languages and with some updated practices. These changes have caused detrimental effect on the way we worship God. Hence the results: the unity is lack of belonging - respect of Tradition is no longer respected as it has modernized by liberals - Faith is watered down due to influence of secularism and - compromise of belief and many more. As a matter of fact, the core beliefs or practices of Catholicism or faith tradition have become less strong, pure, or rigorous over time. We lost ourselves at the end. Therefore, one of the key points is the UNIVERSAL RULE which defines Quo Primum established a uniform way to celebrate the Roman Catholic Mass, which became known as the Tridentine Mass or the Traditional Latin Mass. It was meant to standardize how the Mass was conducted across the Catholic Church, especially after the reforms of the Council of Trent. The universal language for the Mass is Latin which is known as the OFFICIAL LANGUAGE OF THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHUCH. In addition, Quo Primum (Pope Pius V, 1570) granting to all priests of the Latin Rite the right to celebrate the Roman Mass in perpetuity. Nothing can be changed at all. Here is the abstract of Quo Primum by St. Pope Pius V: -
"We likewise order and declare that Prelates, Administrators, Canons, chaplains and other secular priests, by whatsoever name they are called, or regular priests of any order, may not be obliged to celebrate Mass in any other way than that which we have ordered; and that they cannot be forced or compelled by anybody to change this missal, and that this present letter cannot at any time be revoked or modified, but that it shall always remain firm and valid in its force." -The Perpetual Indult of St. Pope Pius V 14 July 1570. As a result, the Society of St. Pius X (SSPX) was founded in 1970 by Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre as a response to changes in the Catholic Church following the Second Vatican Council (1962-1965). It is known as a priestly society that focuses on celebrating the Tridentine Mass and oppose the newer form of Mass (Novus Ordo) introduced after Vatican II. Its main objective is the FORMATION OF HOLY PRIESTS using the methods that the Church always used: the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, “The Mass of All Time”; the preaching of the Catholic Faith and Catholic morals; the endowment of grace by the administration of the sacraments of the Catholic Church; Catholic doctrine drawn from the best sources; community life in charity and prayer. Other objectives why SSPX was founded: -
I) Preserve the Traditional Latin Mass. II) Preserve Tradition. III) Defend Traditional Catholic doctrine. IV) Train Traditional priests. V) Resist modern influences. With deepest gratitude and appreciation to the founder of Society of St. Pius X (SSPX), the late Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre for his unwavering dedication to the preservation of the Traditional Latin Mass and the timeless teachings of the Catholic Church. His steadfast leadership and dedication to upholding the sacred traditions and his courages stand for the faith that have touched the lives of countless people all around the world. Through the work of SSPX, many Catholics have the opportunities to experience the beauty and reverence of the Mass as it has been celebrated for centuries. Traditional Latin Mass is exclusively under the guidance of International Priestly Society of St. Pius X (SSPX) which is known as an international missionary Traditional Catholic Priests that persevering Catholic tradition all around the world. The Society of St.Pius X is not under jurisdiction of local Archdiocese of Kuching rather is an independent priestly society with canonical approval of Holy See in November 1, 1970. The Mass is celebrated according to 1962 Roman Missal. All Christians are welcome.
