காணும் பொங்கல் (கன்னி பொங்கல்) அன்று திருமணம் ஆகாத கன்னி பெண்கள் தமக்கு நல்ல கணவர் கிடைக்க வேண்டுமென்று மார்கழி மாதம் முழுவதும் விரதம் எடுத்து பொங்கல் வைத்து வழிபாடு செய்வது கன்னி பொங்கலாகும். உறவினர்கள், நண்பர்கள், தெரிந்தவர்கள் தெரியாதவர்கள் என பாகுபாடின்றி அனைவரும் ஒன்றாக இருந்து அந்த நாளில் கொண்டாடி மகிழ்வார்கள்.

On Kaanum Pongal (also known as Kanni Pongal), unmarried women observe fasting throughout the Tamil month of Margazhi and prepare Pongal as an offering, praying to be blessed with a good life partner. It is a day when relatives, friends, acquaintances, and even strangers come together, setting aside differences, to celebrate and enjoy the festivities in unity.

வீரத்தின் அடையாளமாய்,
தமிழரின் திருநாளாய் ,
விவசாயத்தின் தோழனாய் ,
ஏழைகளின் தெய்வமாய்,
உழவனின் தொண்டனாய்,
விளங்கும் பசு மற்றும் காளையின், பண்டிகையாம் மாட்டுப் பொங்கல்!
அலங்காரங்களுக்கிடையே கம்பீர் நடைகொண்டு,
மாட்டுப் பொங்கல் நல்வாழ்த்துகள்!✨

Hindu Society of Universiti Malaya wishing you a Happy Mattu Pongal. Mattu Pongal is the second day of Pongal, and it is a festival where people give prayers to cows and bulls. In India, cows and bulls are revered and venerated: cows provide food in the form of milk, while bulls are important for herding and plowing fields of oxen.

The cattles are washed during the day of Mattu Pongal and their horns are coloured and coated in shiny metallic caps. Beads, bells, corn sheaves and flower garlands are used to decorate their necks. On this special day of thanksgiving, the cattle are then fed pongal as a holy offering or prasadam.✨

ஆடியில் விதைத்த பயிர்கள் நன்கு விளைச்சலை அடைந்து அறுவடை செய்யத் தயாராகும் மாதமே தை மாதம் . அந்தக் காலக்கட்டத்தில் வேளாண்மை சீராக நடைபெற முதன்மை காரணமாக விளங்கும் சூரிய பகவானுக்கு நன்றி கூறும் வகையில் அறுவடை திருநாள் அமைகிறது. ஆகவே, பண்பாடும் மாண்பும் மாறாமல் மகிழ்ச்சியாக இத்திருநாளைக் கொண்டாடுவோம். மலாயாப் பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் இந்து சங்கம் சார்பாக அனைவருக்கும் பொங்கல் திருநாள் நல்வாழ்த்துகள்! 🌾✨☀️

The month of Thai is the month when the crops sown in Aadi reach a good yield and are ready for harvest. During that period, Pongal Festival is celebrated to give thanks to Lord Suryabhagavan, who is the main reason for the smooth running of agriculture. [இனிய போகி வாழ்த்துகள் | Happy Bhogi]

பழையன கழித்து, புதியன புகுத்தும் நாளானது போகிப் பண்டிகை. இந்த நாளில், வீட்டில் உள்ள தேவையற்ற பொருட்களை அப்புறப்படுத்தி வீட்டைச் சுத்தம் செய்வோம். வீட்டில் மட்டுமல்லாது நம் மனத்தில் இருக்கும் தீய எண்ணங்களையும் நீக்க வேண்டும் என்பது இதன் தத்துவமாகும். இதன் அடிப்படையில் மலாயாப் பல்கலைக்கழக இந்து சங்கம் சார்பில் இனிய போகிப் பண்டிகை வாழ்த்தினைத் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறோம்!

Bhogi festival is meant to celebrate letting go of the old and welcoming the new. This festival is celebrated on the last day of Margazhi month according to the Tamil calendar. On this day, unnecessary old items in the house are discarded and the entire house is cleaned. This day also symbolizes cleansing our hearts by removing the negative and wrong thoughts. Hindu Society of Universiti Malaya would like to wish all of you a wonderful Happy Bhogi!

மலாயாப் பல்கலைக்கழக இந்து சங்கம், தமிழ்ப் பேரவை, கபடி கழகம், இந்திய ஆய்வியல் கழகம் மற்றும் தமிழ் மாணவர் கழகம் இணை ஏற்பாட்டில் "நம் வீட்டுப் பொங்கல்" கோலாகலமாகச் சிவன் ஆலயத்தில் நடைபெறவிருக்கிறது. மாணவர்களுக்காகப் பல போட்டிகள் மற்றும் இரவு உணவு ஏற்பாடு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது. இந்த உன்னத நாளில் ஒன்றாய் பொங்கல் பண்டிகையைக் கொண்டாட உளமார அனைவரையும் அழைக்கின்றோம்.

The Hindu Society of Universiti Malaya, in collaboration with the Tamil Language Society, Kabaddi Club, Indian Studies Club, and Tamil Student Society, is organizing “Nam Veedu Pongal” at the Sivan Temple, Universiti Malaya. இராம நவமி விஷ்ணுவின் ஏழாவது அவதாரமாகக் கருதப்படும் இராமனின் பிறந்த நாளைக் கொண்டாடும் ஒரு இந்துப் பண்டிகையாகும். சித்திரை மாதத்தில் ஒன்பதாம் நாள் வரும் நவமியில் இந்நாளானது கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. எல்லாம் வல்ல இராமரின் அருளால் சகல செல்வங்களும் இன்பமும் பெற ஶ்ரீ ராம நவமி நல்வாழ்த்து.
