Spreading a little love and joy this season 💛 We had the privilege to visit 9 orphanages and old folks’ homes , dropping off essential materials and sharing warm smiles. Sometimes, the smallest acts of kindness make the biggest difference.
A big thank you to all the volunteers who showed up and joined us today!

盂兰盛会又称“鬼节”，到底是什么？

盂兰盆节，也称 “中元节”，在华人地区具有多重意义,不仅是追思先人的时刻，更包含祈福、行善、超度亡灵的涵义。人们会在这一天祭拜祖先，为逝去的亲人祈福，也通过 供僧、放生、施食 等方式积德行善，希望先人能够离苦得乐，众生皆得安乐。

在不同地区、族群与宗教派别中，仪式形式各有不同：有的热闹非凡，有的庄严肃穆。而我们的盂兰盛是以佛教仪轨为主，通过诵经、供僧、回向，将功德回向先人、家人及一切有情众生。

The Ullambana Festival, also called the Zhongyuan Festival, holds deep significance in Chinese communities. It is not only a time to remember and honor ancestors, but also a day for blessings, good deeds, and performing rituals to help departed souls find peace. On this day, people worship their ancestors, offer prayers for departed loved ones, and engage in virtuous acts such as making offerings to monastics, animal liberation, and food offerings — hoping that the departed may be freed from suffering and that all beings may enjoy happiness.

Across different regions, ethnic groups, and religious traditions, the forms of ceremony vary — some are lively and festive, while others are solemn and dignified. Our Ullambana Festival focuses on Buddhist ceremonial practices, including chanting, offerings to monastics, and dedicating merits to ancestors, family members, and all sentient beings.
