Fulfilling the true purpose of a family unit in Sikhi, Giani Mohar Singh Ji along with his wife, Bibi Pritam Kaur and 2 young daughters Bibi Satnam Kaur (8 Years old) & Bibi Waheguru Kaur (6 years old) sacrificed themselves in early morning of 6th June 1984 for the Throne of Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji. TODAY (6 June 2026) marks the Shaheedi of Bhai Amrik Singh Ji. Bhai Sahib Ji attained Shaheedi defending Sri Akal Takhat and protecting innocent women and children’s against the tyrant forces invading Sri Darbar Sahib Amritsar in 1984. He was a very capable and dedicated son of the 13th Mukhi of Damdami Taksal, Sant Giani Kartar Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale. Bhai Sahib Ji is an exemplary figure whose name has been written on the pages of Sikh History alongside many great Gusikhs. Their competency in both Gurmat as well as worldly knowledge is astonishing and the faith Bhai Sahib Ji had in Guru Sahib was certainly commendable. They led a life filled with the virtues of a Gurmukh and up till their last breath stayed loyal to Guru Sahib and Damdami Taksal. During the toughest times of modern Sikh History, Bhai Sahib Ji throughout the Sikh struggle for freedom, supported Sant Giani Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale and highly contributed to the struggle. Bhai Sahib Ji’s Shaheedi for the sanctity of Sri Harmandir Sahib presented values of Love, Strength, Bravery, Courage and Sacrifice. Leaving their family and all worldly relations behind, Bhai Sahib Ji chose the path of Gursikhi and sacrificed their head for the Guru.

Shaheedi - General Shabeg Singh Ji

June 1984 brought along with it some of the darkest days in modern day Sikh History. However within those dark times, shine the diamonds of Khalsa Panth. One of whom is General Shabeg Singh Ji. He who lived the life of a Gursikh and served his nation tirelessly was wrongfully labelled a traitor when he chose the side of his beloved Guru instead of the nation he spent his whole life with. Being a mastermind behind the barracks of Singhs in the Harmandir Sahib Complex, General Sahib Ji along with Sant Giani Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale, Bhai Sahib Bhai Amrik Singh Ji, Baba Thara Singh Ji and many other gems of the Panth defended Sri Harmandir Sahib against all odds. To him, the sanctity of Sri Harmandir Sahib and Sri Akaal Takhat Sahib was of utmost importance.
He fought valiantly against the tyrants and breathed his last on the pure grounds of Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji’s Throne and in the presence of Sant Giani Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa on the night between 5-6 June 1984.

We pay obeisance to this great Sikh whose love for the Guru outweighed the fear of death.

ਜੂਨ ੧੯੮੪ ਸਿੱਖ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਅਜੋਕੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਦਾ ਐਸਾ ਦੌਰ ਆਇਆ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਸਿਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚਣੌਤੀਆਂ ਦਿਤੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਲਾਲਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਰਨੈਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਭਿੰਡਰਾਂਵਾਲੇ ਦੀ ਅਗੁਵਾਈ ਥੱਲੇ ਜੁਝ ਕੇ ਧਰਮ ਦੀ ਰਖਿਆ ਕਿਤੀ।ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਘੂਪ ਹਨੇਰਿਆਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਵੀ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਪੰਥ ਦੇ ਕੁਝ ਹੀਰੇ ਚਮਕੇ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਅਟੂਟ ਬੀਰਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਅਮਰ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਨਾਲ ਸਿੱਖ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਹਾਦਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਹਰਾਇਆ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਮਹਾਨ ਸ਼ਖਸੀਅਤ ਜਨਰਲ ਸ਼ਾਬੇਗ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਵੀ ਸਨ।

ਜੋ ਜਨਮ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆਖਰੀ ਸਾਹ ਤੱਕ ਗੁਰਸਿੱਖੀ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਜੀਏ, ਜੋ ਆਪਣੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਈ ਲਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਦਟਸ਼ ਨੇ ਸਨਮਾਨਤ ਵੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਪਰ ਉਸੇ ਜਨਰਲ ਨੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਪਾਸਾ ਲਿਆ, ਤਾਂ ਝੂਠੇ ਇਲਜਾਮ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਬਦਨਾਮ ਕਰਨਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਦਕਿ ਆਪੁ ਜੀ ਤਾਂ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਆਪਣੇ ਅਸਲੀ ਮਾਲਕ, ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਬਚਨ ਹੀ ਨਿਭਾ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਜੋ ਆਪ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਫੋਜ ਵਿਚ ਭਰਤੀ ਹੋਣ ਸਮੇਂ ਸਹੁੰ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਸੀ ।

ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਹਰਿਮੰਦਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਕੰਪਲੈਕਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਦੇ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਬੰਕਰ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਸੋਚ ਤੇ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਸੀ, ਉਹ ਜਨਰਲ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਸੀ। ਸੰਤ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਜਰਨੈਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਭਿੰਡਰਾਂਵਾਲੇ, ਭਾਈ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਭਾਈ ਅਮਰੀਕ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ, ਬਾਬਾ ਥਾਰਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਥ ਦੇ ਕਈ ਹੋਰ ਜਵਾਹਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਹਰ ਔਖੀ ਘੜੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਹਰਿਮੰਦਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਅਤੇ ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਰਾਖੀ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਈ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਅਤੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਪਵਿੱਤਰਤਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਮਹੱਤਵ ਰੱਖਦੀ ਸੀ।
ਉਹ ਬੇਮਿਸਾਲ ਸ਼ੂਰਵੀਰਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਜੁਲਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ ਲੜੇ ਅਤੇ ੫ ਜੂਨ ਅਤੇ ੬ ਜੂਨ ੧੯੮੪ ਦੀ ਰਾਤ, ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਹਰਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਦੀ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਧਰਤੀ 'ਤੇ, ਸੰਤ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਜਰਨੈਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਹਾਜ਼ਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ, ਆਪਣਾ ਆਖਰੀ ਸਾਹ ਲਿਆ। ਅਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਮਹਾਨ ਸਿੱਖ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਰ ਨਿਵਾ ਕੇ ਸ਼ਰਧਾਂਜਲੀ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਾਂ॥

TODAY (2 June 2026) marks the 79th Janam Divas of Sant Giani Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale. On this day, the Panth was blessed with a Gurmukh who embodied the Miri-Piri (Saint-Soldier) concept of Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji. Sant Ji’s contributions to the panth are countless as they guided the panth through one of its most challenging times in modern day Sikh History.
We bow down in reverence to the one who stood up to injustice when no one else did, The one who protected and preached for the Human Rights of Punjab, The one who encouraged equality, The one who spoke nothing but the Truth, The one who could not bear the disrespect of the Guru, Shrines belonging to any faith, Women and Children, The one who started a revolution for the betterment of people not caring about himself nor his own safety and when the time came, fought like a tiger against those who stormed Sri Harmandir Sahib to kill innocents.
