Samten Ngedon Gatsel Ling

Samten Ngedon Gatsel Ling Samten Ngedon Gatsel Ling (SNGL) is a proposed dharma retreat cm practice centre for Buddhist nuns Construction is scheduled to begin in 2015. Thank you!

Samten Ngedon Gatsel Ling (SNGL) which means “Celestial Garden of the Concentration on Ultimate Truth” will be a practice centre for displaced and often forgotten nuns in Bhutan—to provide them with a decent living place and the opportunity to propagate the dharma, with the ultimate aim of transcending traditional barriers to monastic education and spiritual progress of Bhutanese women. Choela Son

am Wangmo (Tenzin Dadon) conceived the idea for a retreat cm practice centre in 2009 for nuns in southern Bhutan as there are currently no places available for retreat and dharma practice in the Phuentsholing area for nuns. Choela Sonam Wangmo hopes to provide dharma education to the nuns, surrounding communities, especially children and lay Buddhist women to fill the gap in religious education in Bhutan and to help the country achieve its aspiration of a sustainable nation grounded in strong moral values in line with GNH principles. The proposed centre also hopes to open its doors to laywomen when more resources are available. We are currently raising funds to help construct the retreat centre. Please contact Sonam Wangmo at [email protected] for sponsorship. Your kindness to the nuns is much appreciated.
