Agape Outreach To The Blind Bhd (AOB) is an interdenominational Christian ministry involved in various areas of mission and evangelism to the blind and visually impaired in Malaysia. Registered under the ROC since 1991, it operates as a non-profit organisation under the leadership of a board of directors, with an active membership of about 70 (blind individuals and sighted volunteers). MISSION: To

reach out to the blind with the message of grace and salvation. VISION: To raise up mature worshippers and prayer warriors to impact the community


HISTORY / BACKGROUND:

AOB began as a Christian fellowship in 1976 called Adult Crusaders For Christ (ACC) catering for blind adults as well as ex-students of the Setapak Residential School For The Blind. It was pioneered by Lynette Kong, a resource teacher at St. John's Institute. The fellowship was originally held at the MAB GTC building. Later the fellowship was held at the Brickfields YMCA. The ministry was later passed on to Ms. Chee Peck Choo, an ex-teacher and MBS Bible school graduate. AREAS OF MINISTRY:

1. FELLOWSHIP: We run weekly fellowship meetings in English, Chinese and Bahasa Malaysia to encourage fellowship/social interaction, as well as to teach, train and equip the members for active involvement in their respective churches.
* Bahasa Malaysia Fellowship (BMCF): Friday, 1.00-2.15 pm
* Chinese Fellowship (CCF): Saturday, 9.30-11.00 am
* English Fellowship (ECF): Saturday, 5.00-6.30 pm

2. MISSIONS: We plan and organize
* Regular evangelistic activities, such as AOB Annual Christmas Celebration, to reach out to the blind, and
* Periodic mission trips to various parts of the country and the ASEAN region.

3. CARE AND COUNSELING: We are involved in
* Home and hospital visitations to help and encourage the blind;
* Giving financial aid to the needy blind including the unemployed, the sick and multi-handicapped;
* Providing counseling to those with marital and family problems.

4. BIBLE DISTRIBUTION: We are involved in
* Distribution of Braille and audio Bibles;
* Printing and circulation of other Christian literature for spiritual enhancement.

5. CAMPS AND OUTINGS: We organize
* Special camps to cater for the spiritual needs of the blind, and
