Jesus uses the Good Shepherd discourse to show that His mission is to break down dividing walls and unite all people into one united church body rather than division. The 5-fold ministry that God has called helps the church grow into unity, spiritual maturity, and the fullness of Christ.

God’s call on the church is to transition people out of spiritual darkness into His light, uniting believers as the living body of Christ to worship, fellowship, and spread the Gospel.

The prodigal son didn’t suddenly decides to leave the Father’s house. Somewhere along the way, he was influenced by peer pressure and temptations.

Christians don’t just leave the church overnight. It always starts with compromising and allowing the devil to sow seeds of division and peer pressure that slowly leads to temptation (money, power, and immorality).

How many Christians today see themselves living for approval. But the good news is that in the Father’s house there is grace and salvation. We all still need God’s Holy Spirit and righteousness to move us daily.
